Angelina has sung over 140 covers & her originals. As a young girl her grandma introduced her to jazz - many of the covers contain jazz elements -Adele, Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Queen, Celine Dion, Amy Winehouse, Billie Holliday, Elvis etc. ENJOY‼️ p.s. She won Norway’s Got Talent by singing 4 jazz numbers.💕

e pluribus u-num With all the gimmicks that are used in what is known as music today it is so refreshing to come across a being that does not need auto tune, lightshows, dancers, outrageous costumes, bands, or orchestras to cover their weaknesses because she has none. AJ can perform a Capella, or with one or two instruments to follow her lead and give you chills with each performance. I have always enjoyed all genres of music, and being 75, I have experienced the best the industry has to offer, from the early 50s, to 2023, but I have never been moved emotionally in the past anywhere close to what Angelina Jordan does from 7 to 17. When I heard Celine Dion perform in a tint in Québec when she was a child, I predicted she would be the next world superstar, and the rest is history. Celine did not sign a record contract until she was in her early 20s. David Foster, who made Celine a star flew to Norway after Angelina wone NGT and tried to sign her, but her family wanted to stay in control of her future. Angelina, at 13, appeared on AGT and getting worldwide recognition signed with the largest record company in the world at age 14, Republic Records. The story is that Monty Lipman, the CEO, and known as the Star Maker, personally signed her even without meeting AJ, he was shown a video of her performance. Angelina Jordan will be the next Super Nova very soon. As for being her biggest fan, e pluribus u-num.

She started singing at 18 months sooo I think Angelina figured out how to sing with her first babbke that came out of her mouth. At 2 she started devouring the classics she could find on YT and has never stopped. Probably why she says that singing is like breathing to her.

Her 'vocal chameleon' ability that came to the fore for the first time when she was 7 and performed Billie Holiday's 'Gloomy Sunday', emulating Billie's vocals so closely that talks about reincarnation began to surface. Then she did this at 8, which you need to compare to Dinah Washington's original, and 'once again' you will come away thinking the original artist's vocals have entered and become part of this child.

Another great reaction. She is ridiculously talented, but luckily her family is extremely supportive. After this concert, record companies came asking for a contract, including Disney, and her mother sent them all packing! They insisted she have a proper childhood but also do what she lives for - sing. N.B., I wonder what you would have thought if you had just listened to the sound and not watched the video. She has written a book in Norway becoming the youngest author in the world, she arranges her music and communicates with the band on how she would like them to play their parts, doing that at age 9. Not sure if she plays any instrument, but I am sure she would master that as well!!!

If you close your eyes and listen to Angelina sing this song, she actually captures the tone and inflection of jazz legend Dinah Washington when she did this song. Angelina is pretty special! The simplicity of Angelina Jordan is deceptive because she is a "SHAMAN". Shamans Genius: Exceptional intellectual or creative power, the greatest musical genius of our time is Angelina Jordan. Can one be hypnotized by sound? Shamans use rhythmic drumming and chanting to achieve control over a mind. Angelina's is unique in that she has the ability to create audios that trigger your brains "frequency following response". She has the ability to create a euphoric addiction to her total being similar to drugs, but without the side effects, she is in fact, like nothing I have ever experienced in the past, or more than likely to in the future. Extraterrestrials, If you have ever questioned whether there are extraterrestrials among us, you now know it to be true, it is the only explanation for this being,

Not only was Angelina blessed with otherworldy talent, she was blessed with a family that thoroughly understood the ravages of the entertainment industry, particulary when it comes to children. If you watch the "Glooomy Sunday" video linked below you will see her introduction to the world. Keep in mind as you watch this 7yo fearlessly take complete command of the stage she's a really young child. It went immediatly viral, garnering 5m views on YT in a matter of days. It becomes apparent why the label of child prodigy became attached to her name. Also as you watch you will see a blond haired lady wipe tears from her eyes. That's her mother. She was ask later in an interview about that moment and if those were happy tears. She replied that of course she was happy for Angelina, but they were also tears of sadness because in that moment she realized she would have to share her daughter with the world. AJ's parents and uncle, her manager, have been the brakes on Anglina as AJ has been the driving force behind her career since she was a toddler. In an interview following AJ's winning of NGT her mother was asked what's next to which she replied school. That her singing would only be done if and when it fit in with her school work and having a normal childhood. That's why you don't see many performances in her younger years except for summer concerts and charity events. Of course the wolves of the entertainment industry, including Disney, flew in with buckets of cash to try and sign AJ to a contract only to go home empty handed. There's no telling how many millions her family turned down to protect AJ. Her mother has stood by her vow to this day. AJ did sign a contract with Republic Records about midway through her 14th year, but under the proviso that there would be no promoting her until she finished school, and she would have complete creative control over her art. And some say no autotune is included in that. I just wanted you to know there's been no exploitation of AJ from day 1. Everything that you see and hear is AJ's doing, including the arrangements. She's an artist extrodinaire, singing, painting, playing guitar, piano, and sewing and speking 4 languages fluenty. Here's the link to Gloomy Sunday. I hope you will watch. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lmebtcqoadzMaJs.html Don't forget to go to captions and turn on the english subtitles and listen to the very end to catch the judges comments. They're quite entertaining.

You asked how did Angelina realize she could sing. Here is a link to a video of Angelina singing to a Whitney Houston song at 18 months in her crib! Start at 3 minutes 30 seconds. kzread.info/dash/bejne/nHlq2puPaKbUqdo.html Her grandmother was her greatest influence and introduced her to the classics and jazz as a toddler, and played songs on repeat. Here is a chronological playlist from ages 6 to 17, of Angelina's 191 videos including tiktok and Instagram. The first dozen or so are her originals and a few specialty songs. Then it starts chronologically at age 6. kzread.info/head/PL2v8kgVeo4EbQD6l_WAVjOfItquzW7oEc Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond. You have to go back and watch her four Norways Got Talent performances. At 8 years old she won the whole competition as the youngest ever to win an international singing competition! Peace and love.

Hi Ashlena, that's one of my favorites of her, with as I believe the biggest disconnect between tiny cuteiness, and vocal ability... I have a suggestion: instead of releasing more than one song on your Angelina Wednesdays, spread the releases out over several days during the week. I believe that will give you more views, and will be more popular with listeners than these mass-releases and then a pause of a week. I mean, you can still record and even upload several of them the same day, as KZread lets you pick a publish date.

A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. As usual, a vocal master piece. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZread. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZread went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZread video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZread. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZread, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. In December 2022, Angelina performed at the Asian American Awards in Los Angeles. On 2/27/23, Angelina performed at the FIFA Awards ceremony in Paris, France, with a viewing audience in the millions. On May 5th, 2023, Angelina released her original "Love Don't Let Me Go". Angelina will be performing in Concert at the Music Hall in Portsmouth New Hampshire on Sept 22nd, 2023 - there are still some tickets available.

Hi again, Ashlena. This cover of Angelina's has been in my head the last few days and after rewatching it several times I decided to go back to some favorite reactions to it. I just adore yours! You were so viscerally floored by those 8-year-old vocals, just like I was back in 2017 when I heard it for the first time. I must have watched it 20 times if I watched it once that first night. And your reaction also makes me appreciate just how great a job Sara, Angelina's Mom, has done with her and continues to do with her. 👼

Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of another amazing performance by Angelina - this time singing a Dinah Washington classic - at age 8. This was shortly after she won Norway's Got Talent. It was at one of the Norwegian outdoor summer music festivals (as evidenced by the flowers in the hair of many women & girls). You asked about how young she might have been when she started singing. Well - following this performance, Angelina performed Fly Me To The Moon in her US debut on The View. And - in a short interview before her singing, Angelina does answer the question as to how young she was when she first started singing. But - in order to better understand her musical roots & early influencers, I also highly recommend her audition on Norways Got Talent singing Gloomy Sunday - at age 7. (Please be sure to select a video with English subtitles because even though Angelina will be singing in English, the narrator & judges are speaking Norwegian.) Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.

Ashlena, This is only the beginning of a unique journey with Angelina Jordan, starting went she was 7 years old and now 17 beautiful young Lady and a remarkable voice. Angelina is a Norwegian Jazz singer discovered on the "Norway Got Talent" 2014 Show. She became an overnight sensation singing "Gloomy Sunday" in the style of Billie Holiday, which went viral online worldwide. There is so much more to her story as you venture into Angelina's "Rabbit Hole," with no way out but to immerse yourself in her music.

It is the first time she is in a recording studio, remember she is Norwegian and she is reading and singing in English. Remember to turn on the CC so you will be able to understand the tech's comments at the end. Love your reactions. After this song I would react to the four songs she sings on Norway's Got Talent.

I seem to recall that her grandmother is Iranian. During a stay in Iran, the girl saw a girl of the same age in humble conditions on the street. They talked for a while, and the little girl told her that she wanted to become a doctor. Talking like that, she stared at her shoes, and Angela, on an impulse, gave them away. She sings barefoot to remember that meeting and that girl of the same age. I hope I remembered correctly. Sorry for my english.

She says she wont wear sjoes to publicly perform until ALL children have shoes to wear. She has for her entire career given tremendously to charity. When asked what she wanted by her family from her 200k or so winnings from NGT they expected a toy or maybe a nice piece of music equipment, but 8 year old Angelina told them to give it to the shoeless children
