Jess, this arrangement was 100% pure Angelina in origin. She decided to start the song with the slower tempo, heartfelt bridge to set the tone for the entire song. Once again, this reinvention of Elvis' last No. 1 record is to honor him and is another aspect of the brilliance of Angelina Jordan.

AJ plays guitar, keyboard/piano, violin and flute. Don’t forget she writes music and was the youngest author in Norway to publish a book. No loud band, no light show, no dancers, just two instruments to accompany the MAGIC that Angelina Jordan brings like no one else can. At 7 she was killing us, at 16 she is taking us places we have never been. What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE, Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. She has written a number of songs.

Angelina Jordan is an ORACLE Oracles have existed in human form in every culture around the world. Many are still noted in our time, such as the Oracles at Delphi in Greece, the Chief Oracle of Tibet, and the Oracles of ancient Egypt, but there are countless examples. They are the remnants in our minds of a time in which we all remembered. How else can we explain the hypnotic effect this creature has on all who dare experience her? What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE. Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California. Rob has been playing the piano on most of AJ's studio production performances. AJ's voice has been unique since she was 7 years old and now at 16, she controls us as an audience, leaving us hang on every word and phrase. She has written a number of songs.

I continually seek explanation: reincarnation (old soul), Roman & Greek mythology (human-like goddesses with specific capabilities), neuroscience (affects of music on the listeners brain chemistry), etc. Angelina makes me think the Sirens encountered by Ulysses in Homer’s Odyssey were based upon some historically factual long-lost singing techniques during ancient times that Angelina rediscovered.

@@dojoswitzer haha, love it, if I had to guess I would think having 10 years of professional experience already, at 16, is unique. That confidence to be yourself, confirmation and encouragement and support from all around you that whole time, is the culprit. You can't be unique without huge confidence, you would instead be looking to emulate someone else, something that works, every single second you preform and in every decision. Being that young under those circumstances is unique, those are important years that make the most difference in life in every other way of life, uncommon in music but maybe the same? Her artistic decisions being really good is wild as well. Obviously she hears and feels and creates music differently. And we all love it. But I'd assume the only thing given and not of her manifestation is that amazing vocal tone. The supernatural does make sense too though, it is easier to grasp oddly enough. I think she is a human in tune with her senses and tools to an elite extent, who found her passion at 2 years old. Humans can be amazing as we know, even by 16. If she was shut down, taken advantage of or led astray then what? It all just came together I think, it happens. The right girl, with the right family, found the right passion super early, the right influences, and the right friends and contacts professionally. Odds are better there were supernatural forces at play, I grant you that, human lives don't go so proper. But I figure lucky us. She deserves all the credit, with a very important honorable mention to those in her life, and even her fans who found her early on. I stop short of saying lucky her though, in a sense, but kids don't want 10 years of professional experience in anything by 16, ever. She has earned it, she has been clearly grateful the whole way as well, she has given lots as entertainment, connection and otherwise. Things went as they should for once. No doubt with meticulous effort and love from all involved. I love the otherworldly talent, and the otherworldly explanations for it, they speak too how impressive she really is, they do not detract. But I figure I should but in and make sure both kinds of credit are given.

I believe Angelina creates her arrangements by singing them and then works with the musicians to add the music. Once the arrangement is ready, she begins to sing and captivates the listener from the first note and now Angelina's magic takes over. Depending on the mood of the listener at the time, the journey through the song will have different effects. Angelina and Mery are a powerful team, creating art on a very high level and I can't wait to hear more, especially new original songs.

Hi. Now that you've reacted to several of Angelina's performances What are your thoughts about this young phenom since I first begged you to take a look at her. Did I not tell you she would be worth it? This arrangement was all Angelina, I have no doubt. She is a Master Storyteller. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She brings tears to your eyes don't she? Epic. Incredible. There are no words. Epic! Wow, Wow, Wow! Could it be more Beautiful? ♥👣👸🏻🎷 Yeah she doing a Concert in Norway this month! Album to drop soon! So much to look forward to.♥👣👸🏻🎷 Please let me know you have seen my comment. I haven't got a reply since I first introduced you to her.

aside from having the best voice I've heard Anglina is also the greatest interpreter of lyrics.. According to the songwriter at the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. His wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." . Elvis version and all other covers I've heard with the boucny upbeat tempo loses those feelings of hurt , confustion, regret remorse and hope which was the intent of the lyric.... She also brilliantly uses the bridge as an intro to set the mood " oh will our love survive I'll dry the tears from your eyes don't let a good thing dies when honey you know I'll never lie to you... The first time I've eve heard this song not start right from the verse...

Angelina makes you understand, but also feel the lyrics of classic songs that you’ve heard 100 times before. The visual nods to Elvis are clear and honest. The vibe, though, is all Angelina. Combining melody with speaking, especially in that lower register, is a hallmark of her singing-you can watch it and hear it at 9 years old in I Put a Spell on You or even in her amazing cover of Bang, Bang at 8 years old. Angelina combines unique musicality, a voice for the ages, and the ability to interpret lyrics straight to the heart of each listener individually. And every video she’s done with Republic just oozes class and attention to detail. Simply the best singer I’ve ever heard…

Every one expresses themselves as they are. I tend to take a more emotional and storytelling take on the songs, but why would I expect others to do the same. I find it interesting in general when people talk from their passion. I learn quite a bit from your technical view. It’s nice to get a different view on things! My view on the story is that Angelina changed the story with her version. Elvis’ take is more upbeat and it gives the whole a sense of a hopeful plea to change things so that their love can go on. Angelina seems resigned that things cannot go on as they were and whatever will be will be. Towards the end she sounds a little more desperate. I love how she comes in with power and uses the bridge both as an intro and outro. The visuals are amazing as well. She pulling the dusty covers of beautiful pieces of the past. The costumes, the guitar and her Priscilla beehive all fit well. Her cousins and her sister giving the impression of time passing by.

The Guitar is Elvis's The Black Leather right to Elvis and The Beehive or Bouffant all Priscilla back in the eara of 1966-1968. Also Angelina still Pays Homage to the Promise from 10 years ago to the Merchant Girl that's Praying for her and Will Always Be Barefoot until All the Children have shoes. My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

YOU ARE CORRECT a lot of different covers for suspicious minds BUT Angelina, s is so unique an emotional warm version stands out from any others.Forgot to tell you hearing her live is even better than listening to you tube she is a true talent. My favourite was It,s a man's world and back to black James brown and Amy Winehouse but now this Elvis cover is so amazing like you pointed out in so many ways.Glad to see you have found Jorgen Dahl Moe he will be Norways male version of Angelina.Fantastic emotional and does his own versions of whatever.Love to hear the two of them together he is fantastic on the guitar would be amazing duet.Keep up your good work.love listening to your brilliant opinions.

What a rendition! Her Gandma Mery produced this. Looks like she used the same store she used for her My Funny Valentine video! Her sister Juliette was the older girl. The 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, and, 2 time Grammy winner Rob Christie on piano. What a great cover! The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. I was not expecting this! Funny thing is, this was almost 4 minutes, but it flew by and felt short! Going to listen to it again! 16 years old….Wow!!! What a performance

What a voice that this young lady has, a amazing tribute to Elvis. If you notice she wore her hair the way Elvis's wife wore hers, she's wearing a black leather jumpsuit like Elvis's 68 comeback special. And that's Elvis's guitar she's playing. Great tribute.

Hi Jess - Keep doing what you like doing and the way you want to do it. You are full of great information and expertise that other reactors dont provide and it makes your reactions so interesting. We can all see how Angelina emotionally affects you in your facial expressions and body language and therefore doesn't necessearily need you to confirm it any other way. Anyway have a great day man and I look forward to your next reaction. Cheers

Great reaction - Yes primarily Angelina is a story teller- the intimate style does indeed make it feel that she is singing directly to the listener. The relaxed pace giving the lyrics space to present the feeling. This video has so much depth - a real respectful tribute to Elvis. In the movie the Colonel asks Elvis "Are you ready to fly?" - this young lady is ready to fly to the Moon!

Hi BEL, wonderful reaction. It's amazing to watch Angelina work. She clearly starts a production by reading and studying the lyrics to understand what they mean to her. She likely then works on it privately, applying her toolbox of technique to express the meaning and story she's found in the song. BTW, luv u Mery. Luv you Sarah, everyone else whose helped develop this young genius.

Not sure whose putting up the funding for AJ videos and recordings like this (Executive Producer Mery Zamani ?) but if its RR how are they not exploiting the sales potential? Then there's the family / Sara "holding the brakes" until some future event / date we don't yet know.

SIMILARITIES of ELVIS' LIFE ON PURPOSE? 1) An Elvis song. 2) I hear the richness and depth of Lisa Maria's voice in this song, so weird, but cool. 3) And Pricilla's beehive hairdo. 4) And the black leather with guitar of Elvis in his comeback special. 5) And Elvis' piano room with a chandelier over it. 6) And Graceland a museum of old belongings like this room. ANGELINA is AMAZING, she brought it! She's ONE IN A MILLION!

Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. 🙂

I for one love your technical observations. Your speculations about mic placement got me thinking about recording my own voice. Keep doing what you do, with maybe a sentence or two added about whether you were stirred by it. There are already plenty of emotion-focused reaction channels out there. That first line of hers, though...Great reaction, man!

I’d take a lot of convincing that what we hear in this video is the sound of the piano we see. And remember the background noise at the start. Hmm my bet is that the whole thing was mixed in the studio.

@@pa1189j I think Jess already decided that it was recorded elsewhere, hence his musings on microphone set-ups and possible room acoustics. If not, he would normally have given us a run-down on the particular mic Angelina is using here ... one which I think has featured in other RR 'live' studio videos ... R (Australia)

I've been super grateful that she left the dropping of this video for the many of us who could not go see her live in Norway. 😊 Great great reaction .. really. you were vulnerable and emotional in parts and yet it didn't disturb or keep you from giving your opinion of how it was done, the place, her voice etc.. I do believe Elvis would be stilled by this .. and moved .. for a moment .. and then go crazy with praise. By the way .. I read on several comments that the guitar was the one Elvis used in his 1968 tour. Two other things I wanted to say: that I so love the respect she shows in this homage .. and thanks to Rob Christie for his beautiful piano accompaniment.
