This is an old form of jazz called 'Swing', that goes back to the 30's and 40's. My mom would go on Saturday nights to Roseland Ballroom in New York City to listen to and dance to the songs of the 'Big Bands' that played there. When the majority of the musicians would take a break, a few remained to accompany a solo female singer and she would sing songs like this.

Absolutely. So far they have all shown the importance of appreciating life, of hope and faith, and love for yourself and others (as, I hear the messages in her words). Her talents are amazing. Just sitting here listening to her originals in my head, it’s hard not to tear up with joy.

Love your reactions and your love of this amazing young artist. There's an amazing song she made as a demo when she was 10, that someone subsequently leaked. It's called "I'm Still Holding Out for You." The visuals were added by someone else, but the voice is all Angelina's. This song is near the top of my top 5 all-time favorites. Note: There was controversy regarding its release as some of the lyrics spoke of suicide. Although her parents were against its release, all parties have come to terms with it. I get emotional every time I hear this beautiful, deeply meaningful & inspirational song by Angelina. Even though it has an upbeat tempo, the mood is one of wistfulness and aspiring to climb higher to achieve one's goals. The "story" played out beautifully by the "waitress," stuck in a seemingly dead-end job but wanting more in life, then realizing her ability to achieve it, is truly a powerful "shot in the arm" to anyone who may be feeling hopeless, helpless, trapped, or simply having a bad day!
