and yet somehow a lot of people in this industry do exactly that. It's not like they didn't know this was not part of the process sometimes before getting into the business. Even us common folk know that it goes on. I'm sure it's not just sex either. I'm sure they trade in money, influence, politics, and probably sometimes even just have them do shameful things like be their pet dog for a week because they can and they get off on it. It's nothing new. Also, if they had a huge problem with the guy they should have said "NO" and chose a different career path at the time instead of praising him left and right and acting like nothing is happening until just recently. This man made these people famous and it's not like he raped them.

If I remeber , Paltrow allegedly took the screen play from Ryder's table and went straight to producers (HW?). May be she is good actress, I suppose they are better. Now, when she got what she wanted, she claims to be abused. There is another story about Ryder, that she did't get the part in "The Gofdfather 3" and later she was allegedly stealing in some designer shop, which seemed completely irrational. Now I begin to understand.

Harvey weinstein is a powerful man, any actress or actor who came forward back then accusing him of sexual assault or rape probably would have been called a liar and their career would have been destroyed. Plus they would have felt very embarassed and ashamed, i don't blame them for not wanting to broadcast their story to the entire world. Now is the perfect time for them to speak out, and they're very brave for doing so.

Some thing never change and people in a position of power abusing those beneath him isn't something new, but it's still horrific and should be investigated. But... as we know, this is Hollywood and money rules the world, those with money can get away with things by paying people to shut up and forget things that should never be forgotten. So lets just think about this, both husband to Angelina and super hero, brad Pitt, the protector of Paltrow , none of them went to police years ago on allegations of sexual misconduct and yet all are incredibly wealthy from Hollywood. To us avg folk it sounds so morally and logically obvious to report your assault immediately. I think it’s a whole other mentality in Hollywood. Imagine you’ve worked your ass off to even meet such a well known producer who ‘makes stars out of people’. All you can think is ‘ no one is going to believe me’ to them that is their career, their integrity and their name down the drain with no justice to show for it. It is truly terrifying to have the dreams of acting/recognition that they do- the drive to get somewhere so difficult to achieve- to think that it could all be taken away by a powerful man who has already torn you down physically and emotionally, it seems not worth the risk to many of them and I can understand that. We are all human, just because they didn’t handle their assaults the way YOU think they should’ve, doesn’t make their situation any less true or terrible.

So correct me if I'm wrong but he was the first one she THANKED in her speech when she received the Oscar. Ummm what?? How can you thank (and first of all) someone that you claim had tried to abuse you three years prior?? As long as I'm concerned all she cared about was her career and ALL THESE YEARS she knew and did nothing about it which makes her almost guilty...... she had Brad Pitt to protect her but she just let this monster keep doing it for years in order not to lose her career........ what the actual f is going on in this industry.... I used to think of Hollywood as a dream world when I was a kid.... now that I've grown up all I can see is scandals: sexual assaults, drugs, hookers, pedophiles..... all that for what? fame and money?? vanity is a hell of a drug!

It makes me sick to think what many young naive actresses auditioning for Miramax or the Weinstein Company movies must have endured and are still staying silent to protect their careers. On the other hand, if they spoke up they could have made a difference back then. Fear is a terrible thing. Not feeling able to trust anyone to confide in is a terrible thing. I've no doubt there are many now famous actresses who did engage in his sexual advances and are too embarrassed to say so as well.

They were willing to do it for what they got in return. Most wouldn't have had anything close to the careers, money, fame, and opportunities they received by sleeping their way to the top. Especially G Paltrow. She's average looking, and she can't act.

I think Hollywood needs to take a hike on down the road. Its an evil place. Very sad. These people make way to much money. Its all about the clothes, makeup, cars, houses, material things and I'm sick of seeing it. people in the real world who have normal jobs struggle to make it everyday and just try to survive paycheck to paycheck to take care of their families. I don't feel sorry for them. if that was happening then they should have come forward a long time ago and got out and found a regular job. All the stars seek is more money and fancy things. My opinion

I always do my very best to treat women with respect, kindness and compassion. I know that while both genders are capable of mistreating others, in this case, the heart of the problem is the men. The best way to work towards solving a social issue is to raise young men up to value others and be respectable in the way they conduct themselves. Encourage a culture of excellence among men. Women also have a responsibility to behave honorably and with modesty, but in general, as with sexual harassment, the solution starts with the men.

It's not men or women thing. Hollywood is a culture where both men and women use their commodities to get what they want. Men want sex women want the roles and fame and money. Also now a days we see an awful lot of women dissing men, a lot of misandrist women on Twitter and tiktok than misogynistic men.

The only thing I remember about Shakespeare in Love and Gwyneth Paltrow _in_ Shakespeare in Love is the massive Oscar campaign by Miramax. But I also remember the massive Oscar campaign by Dreamworks for Saving Private Ryan. We live in a time of instant revisionism. We know that SiL's Oscar success was as much about advertising as art. History shows SVP is a greater work of art and a more serious work, but that does not alter the fact that the awards campaigning for both films was gargantuan.

Meryl Streep always overshadowed a much more layered performer Glenn Close, due to her political correctness and Harvey effect , people get fooled by her jumping in joy on others winning oscars , but forget that shes an ACTRESS... even during Harveys fall , her statement was very safeguarded.. you know lot goes down ,lots of calculations and all , no denying that Meryl is great , but her 21 nominations and 3 wins compared to glenn 6 nods and zero wins ( excludig the wife) and getting much more attractive body of work despite not that difference between talent ,the difference of accolades much much more here ... than their actual talent.. and about likes of JENNIFER LAWRENCE ,Gwyneth Paltrow ..well their secret behind oscar win is as clear as daylight (or night secret i may say)... i mean Gwyneth won over Blanchett !! what a joke that was.. hahahaha

Those of the covenant who bring a charge against their neighbor without REPROOF BEFORE WITNESSES are GUILTY of taking vengence in place of Hashem. Paltrow knew things about Weinstein, she did not come forward to reprove the perpetrator before witnesses, permitting the sinning to continue. Paltrow is thus by Halacha (and common law) an ACCESSORY TO THE CRIME. Then, knowing who this man was, Paltrow nonetheless made business with him to further her own career, which brought success to herself and Weinstein, thus empowering him to sin even more, while Paltrow watched him sin upon others in silence.
