For Route 66 enthusiasts throughout the world Angel Delgadillo is a legend. His is a David and Goliath story.
When his hometown of Seligman, Arizona was given a death sentence with completion of the Route 66 bypass, Delgadillo rallied local business owners, and challenged the government of Arizona. His ten year struggle transformed Seligman and gave this iconic old highway a new lease on life. He is credited as the Angel of Route 66. He is the cornerstone of the Route 66 renaissance.
An innovative Storyline exhibit honoring Angel's contributions to the international Route 66 community was unveiled at the Powerhouse Visitor Center in Kingman, Arizona on July 27, 2023 and Jim Hinckley's America was there.
