I’ve only driven through, never had time to see the crater or anything but highway out in that area, Channels like yours are extremely important, in my opinion, as long as KZread agrees then it will become the modern library of Alexandria
Thank you
Jim i wish you'd put in the chat who it is your talking with..i missed who & his channel...!!
Here you go - "On this very special extended program we talk with Chris Tuttle of Arizona Podcast about the magic of road trips, Arizona exploration, the allure of iconic Route 66, the forthcoming Route 66 centennial, and how adventures on the open road add some zest to life. A great interview with Rhys Martin! Thanks for continuing your Coffee With Jim podcast!
Glad that you enjoyed it! You always have a standing invite, just need a couple weeks notice.
I didn’t know what I needed this morning but apparently it was this video. Thanks for taking me on a hike Jim!
Inspiring adventures by telling people where to go, it's what I do. Thanks for the note of inspiration.
I live in and am originally from Apache Junction. Arizona history gets to be more and more fascinating to me as I get older. When I was a kid I just couldn't appreciate how unique this place is. Cant believe Phoenix was settled before air conditioning lol Subscribing now
History is never boring, even though it often seemed that way in school.
Was Hwy 466 a single lane and in similar condition back in the day just as you walked on it in this video?
U.S. 466 was a paved two lane highway. But as with Route 66 in the 1930s it was narrow, and in places steep. On sections of this segment there is broken asphalt, but I suspect that at some point it was removed.
Interesting stories, I enjoyed.
Thank you.
I am glad that you enjoyed it!
Ran into Nolan in Lupton and Grants…Great guy.. Me and Chris are gonna be in Kingman in a couple weeks..Hope to see you..Dave
Let's see if we can get our schedules to sync

Bringing people together brings success.
I stayed here in 1972 ! We became friends with the lady behind the desk & her husband. Bed & sink in the room, bathrooms down th3 hall
Always enjoy the variety of murder, mayhem, and the macabre on Route 66.
Maybe both - money pit & promo vehicle. 😂
Great stories, great craftsman, & a great shop to visit when you stop in Kingman.
Do you have any recommendations for somewhere to go in the Midwest? I live in Minnesota and I’m trying to plan a small trip somewhere with a friend.
Yes! Take a look at Pontiac, Illinois. It is an amazing little town full of attractions and surpises. As a bonus within sixty miles in any direction you will find an array of gems including Funks Grave Nature Preserve, charming Atlanta, Illinois and lots of sites associated with Abraham Lincoln.
You are awesome!! This content needs smzeus!!!
Ha Ha!..Your not a old fart..Your in your prime..Always enjoy your stories..Happy Easter..Dave & Christina
I love Stephanie and the job she has done to bring back her family business! Good stuff Jim - thanks for sharing this - I'll be sure to listen.
Indeed! :)
Cool talk with Wade; the Road Fest is already listed on the OC,SH EVENTS website page. The more I learn, the less I know. So true. A bit aggravating in some ways. When I learn new details-information, I almost immediately start wondering what other connections or tidbits I am missing.
Definitely ready for road trip season!
Enjoyed the last episode with Greg Hasman!
Thank you
@@JimHinckleyAmerica You are welcome!
Fascinating details! Isn't it wonderful how many individual interests we have? Talk about a tapestry of life...wish I could be on the road 24/7/365. Will be great to hear Greg on Coffee With Jim.
These stories SHOULD make me a little less apprehensive about continuing my own road trips. Before I leave, I'm always a little nervous about what *might* happen. But, once I'm actually on the road, I'm generally just fine. :)
