    Wow that really does have minimal overspray , as a hobbyist now , I find the big guns really do create an issue for the guy that wants to spray in the garage or workshop , so I can see how that’s a great gun especially for the home DIYer

    Hi Pete, that’s an impressive little gun I’m impressed by the lack of overspray there looked like that there was none on your bench at all! It’s obvious that it’s a very slow gun compared to your others but I would think this will make it ideal to a beginner. The tank and wing both came out really well. Cheers mate see you in the next one.

    Hey Pete, what a great little gun it really sprays well. The split nozzle tech is really coming into it's own with the low air pressure needed to get as good a finish (if not better) than the standard tip that needs 2bar, I bet other manufactures are itching to have this tech in their guns but I assume they have to wait until the patent runs out but isn't the usual length 20 years🤔 I don't know much about them🤷‍♂ Anyway the Wider1L did a fantastic job on the base and clear but as you mentioned it's a bit slow for a 1.4 but it's a very capable gun, thanks for doing another great video mate👌👍

    There's not many bad guns out there really, as you know, you can use just about anything and get good results these days because you know what you are doing, before you were looking to the gun for results where as now you just take it in your stride. There's no denying the new WS400 is good, i just don't think it any better than the old one set up the same, funny thing is, i got that 1.4HD tip set the other day and in the gun it lines up almost at 90°, more fun and games now then, cheers mate 👍

    Yeah I have noticed that these days I can pickup a gun and get a descent finish out of it, if not the first time then I can soon dial it in, a couple of years back I was always blaming the gun and wasting more cash on them. Good news about the 1.4HD tip mate, it's strange then that the other one didn't line up🤔🤷‍♂

    Yes, very odd re the tip, I've got 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 and they all sit slightly differently when torqued to the same value, one thing i do know is lining that cap up to 90° of the slits really does make a difference to the way they spray, haven't tried the new LS and OBS so can't comment but i have been trying the LS400 series1 for clear as someone suggested on here, i lined the tip up and it was really really good, quite impressive, cheers mate 👍

    Hello, thank you very much for your inforamative videos. I am currently looking for a Spray Gun and a silent compressor. The Wider1 or Wider1L should suit my needs. Can you tell me the minimum compressor requirements? According to the IWATA Homepage, the Wider1L 1.4 Gravity requires 200l/mins but I am not sure at which pressure. Is the volume referred to the "atomizin air pressure" (0,1 MPA). In this case my compressor needs to deliver 200l/min at 1bar for the Wider 1L. If my assumption is correct, the the regular Wider1 1.3 Gravity requires 225l/min at 2.4bar. This would mean that the Wider1 has a lot of higher needs regarding the compressor power. Am I right with my assumption? Thank you and best regards

  • @peteshobbies5383

    @peteshobbies5383

    6 ай бұрын

    Hi Mario, It depends on the cap on the wider1 as to the amount of air it consumes. Normally, the air consumption quoted is the consumption of the gun at the recommended pressure. So you are right in your assumptions that the Wider1L will use slightly less air than the Wider1 with some caps. You also need to check the fluid output of the setup you are looking at because a gun may use a little more air, but it will spray a lot faster, so you will need less air overall for the same job, hope that helps

    Hi Pete, great video's thankyou. I have an LPH80 1.0 and an Air Gunza 2.0. I have a 50 litre compressor with 8.4cfm F.A.D. I see myself painting more motorcycle fairings and tanks and the lph80 seems a bit too small, especially for acrylic while the Gunza is more for high build primer etc. I may also spray lacquer for woodworking projects. I don't have much space and so overspray is an issue. Would you recommend the wider 1L or the Kiwami3 1.4WB as the overall more flexible/better choice for my use/situation? Or the older LPH300 1.4? I am an occasional painter at best so don't want to invest in another gun after this one. Thanks so much. Cheers, Dom

  • @peteshobbies5383

    @peteshobbies5383

    7 ай бұрын

    Hi Dom, The LPH80 is a great gun but can be a bit slow for bigger things. It's also very economical on air, runs at a low pressure, which gives low overspray, as you will know. There are a lot of alternatives, the Kiwami3 wb is very good and you should have enough air but you will notice a big difference in overspray. The Wider 1 1.4 runs at a very low pressure, same as the LPH80 from memory, so it also has low overspray. It should also be ok with your air supply. It's still rather slow but obviously faster than the LPH80. If overspray is a major concern, then I would go with the Wider1L

  • @domd2304

    @domd2304

    @@peteshobbies5383 Thanks Pete, much appreciated. So you think the Kiwami3 wb would be preferable for motorbike fairings/tanks to the Wider1L, aside from the overspray? I don't want to take a half-step up from the LPH80 and then feel I should have gone a full step so to speak. Would the Wider1L be limiting in any way vs the Kiwami3? I predict I may be in analysis paralysis for a little while between these two haha. Would you go with a 1.2 if choosing the Wider1L? Interesting that the Kiwami3 wb uses more air than the older W300 wb (190l/min vs 230l/min). Thanks again.

  • @peteshobbies5383

    @peteshobbies5383

    7 ай бұрын

    @domd2304 I think Iwata are just being more truthful with the Kiwami3, as far as I can see, they use the same, and it's definitely more than 190lm, the caps, apart from the bezel are the same. If you don't mind the higher pressure and overspray of the Kiwami3 then that's the one to go for, I find it doesn't quite like full fluid, it seems to overwhelm it a little so just back it off a little and it performs like a W300WB which is excellent. The LPH300 is also excellent and runs at a low pressure. It uses a little more air than the Kiwami 3 and is a little slower, like the Wider1L, I'm guessing because it has a 4 split tip as opposed to a 3 split which tends to speed them up a bit

    @@peteshobbies5383 thanks again. So basically it sounds like all are very similar? Lph300, Kiwami3 or Wider1L. The LPH300 1.4 on paper has highest air consumption (240 vs 230 vs 200), middle paint volume (90 vs 130 vs 80), and pattern width (250mm vs 265mm vs 200mm). If there are no notable differences in atomisation quality or physical quality, then I guess I can't go wrong with any? LPH300 144lV is the oldest design but maybe still holds up? It's the most expensive too, although all three are within 10%. Guess i'll just flip a three sided coin haha. Thank you so much mate.

    Hi buddy, any paint shop should be able to paint them for you, it depends where you are as to costs but most charge more for bike stuff because its more involved, then there's the decals which can be expensive, then it depends on the colours, the more there are the more expensive it would be, often 2, 3 or 4 colour fairings are in fact one colour with decals making up the other colours so they can paint those colours instead of decals but it very time consuming so is expensive, it certainly won't be cheap. If you want it all one colour without decals it would be much cheaper obviously, not sure that's been much help
