This is a wtf legendary win over the best of grass by Murray. 1:05 the shortest and lowest lob of history.

Borderline superhuman performance by Murray. The very definition of an Olympiad home advantage - it wasn't inconceivable that Murray could beat Federer, but to do so with such panache on his home turf (quite literally, at Wimbledon no less) was nothing short of - as you said - legendary. I can remember watching this live and thinking of Murray "he's going to get steamrollered". I was literally jumping and screaming at that last ace. Phenomenal stuff
Andy Murray is amazing and my all time favourite player xxx

Just weeks earlier, Federer beat Murray in the Wimbledon final on this very court. I often wonder if this victory here spurred Murray on for his first Wimbledon final win a year later.

The pain of losing the Wimbledon, plus the knowledge he could turn it on at a final at Wimbledon in front of a manic home crowd undoubtedly did spur him on to win Wimbledon the following year.
Roger has been destroyed. Absolutely dominant victory

@@luiscaetano6184Federer got a rest day on Saturday while Murray played 2 matches in doubles with Olympic medals on the line. This was after beating Djokovic on the Friday. They were both tired by Sunday
Fantastic player! 🙂
this was a fantastic match 2 legends and of course the GOAT 🐐 of grass, the fantastic Roger federer ❤🥰🥰💖💜🥰🔥🔥
The best players
Great match
Fantastic!
And people are still saying that Andy is not a legend... lol... what a player !!
Im a federer fan but murray beat his ass here. Respect to both guys
If not for injuries this version of Murray would've gone on to share the next 10 years with Novak rather than one mans dominance.

Murray KILLED him in this match. I don't think Federer has ever beaten him so convincingly. You could tell Murray was hungry for gold and prepared. No wonder he went on to win Wimbledon next year.

It's funny becuase federer already had beaten murray the previous month at wimbeldon lol
Murray could not, and would not be denied on that day.
How has this got less than a 1000 views 😂
Federer had just played a 4 hour semi final against del Potro the day before for silver and was burnt out. Take nothing away from Murray, this was probably the best match he ever played, but its a shame we couldn't see Federer at his best. This was when his body started to decline.

Untrue, Fed's SF wasn't the day before. It was on Friday, so Fed got the standard rest period for a decently long slam match as the final was on Sunday. On the Saturday, while Fed rested, Murray - having just beaten Djokovic in singles on Friday - played 2 matches (which though being doubles matches were still tense matches with actual Olympic medals on the line, so were hardly stress-free relaxed events). This idea that Fed lost on Sunday only because of physicality is cheap as Murray too would have been tired. Fed just underperformed on the day and didn't have the usual crowd support
It was a lacklustre performance from Federer to say the least, following a brutal semifinal match with Del Potro.
Kudos to Andy, now only Djokovic wins gold at the Olympic Games and can hang his racket on a peg and maybe even win a few more slams just to cement the question of who is the GOAT!!! Let's go champ
That grass is a bit slow, right?
this match seems scripted
