This song reminds me of my brother. I miss him so much, that it physically makes my heart ache. I worry so much every single day that I am gonna get a phone call, that he's gone, and will never be no more. He has been living with addiction for more years than I can stand to count. I miss the person that I know, the person I grew up with.....my best friend. He is five years younger than I am, but I live with this fear that his precious life will be gone too soon. I'm gonna write him a letter tonight, and on the last page I am gonna include the lyrics to this song. I know that he can rise up again. He just needs to get help, help that he needs.....that he deserves. I'm his big sister, I'm the one that is always supposed to fix everything. Absolutely PERFECT! Ten score. The power, the ability to take a soft key that could possibly easily go off let and turn it from her head to her throat and to her gut in fluidity is the most beautiful thing to my high functioning ears. She's amazing and beautiful and I just heard this today! I can't stop listening to it. I love the emotion, the feeling, and the perfection. I'm crying from the experience and my children are on their way down here now to listen as well. They've impeccable taste, and they're going to freak out! Sometimes, you're born with it. Incredible woman with an incredible voice

I came here through 9-1-1 TV show, when the song played as Athena finally got closer. I had tears in my eyes as the lyrics were so appropriate. This is a beautiful song and now one of my favourites.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN/PERSON EVER, WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SOUL EVER!! SHE ACCOMPLISHED WITH THIS SONG, WITH HER BEAUTIFUL, UNBELIEVABLE, OUT OF THIS WORLD, SIMPLY AMAZING VOICE ( and I'm an old 60's and 70's rocker, music hasn't made sense to me at all since around 1980, there has been a few exceptions between 81-83 and a couple, meaning 2,that I actually like maybe 2 of their albums and maybe like 3 or 4 songs afterwords that I grew to enjoy, but, by mid 80's music was dead to me and I haven't moved on at all. It's not all classic rock n roll, I like some folk, soul, R&B and even a few RAP groups from the early 80's as well. But, my friend said, Sully, check out this unbelievably gorgeous mixed woman, don't worry about the song, just check her out, which I thought was disgusting to ONLY hear that shallowness from a friend. I had a look and being me, I chose the live version instead of the studio completely mixed for radio version and sure, I noticed her extremely uncanny beauty, but when she started singing, I truly ignored my friends request, because I could NOT stop listening, over and over, like 10 times on my first visit to KZread. ) So, back to what started, now that you have a background of what I liked all my life, the thing about what this uncannily and unconsciously woman has done. I didn't cry when my dad died when I was 14, cried a bit when Mom died, I was 21, cried a bit for both of my sisters deaths, 2003 and 2013 and knew I was alone, but, Andra, this uncontrollably beautiful soul of a person, made me cry like a 4 tear old getting a needle or goin' to the dentist. It was weird me, I think she brought out my whole life of events in only 4 minutes and 14 seconds in Rise Up from Cheers to the Fall video. I couldn't believe it, I've always held it all in, but it all came flying out and by the end of it, it felt SOOOOO AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL, FANTASTIC AND FREEING TO ME!!! I felt great for days after!!! THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH Andra, you UNBELIEVABLE PERSON and yes, UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN!!!! That's, kinda only happened once since hearing Rise Up, by another beautiful soul and gorgeous woman named Lauren Adelle Crowder with a video of just her ( live ) and her electric piano. This is another AMAZING VOICE AND WOMAN. Men, give the wonderful women the respect they so denandingly deserve!!! i was having doubts about being black in this black and white world but after seeing how see empowers her blackness and boldness I was like it does not matter but skin color but what you do with your life

Damn. I'm crying as hell right now. Lost a friend and her little son in a terrible car crash yesterday morning. Now I'm thinking of my younger brother that I lost due to covid, my grandma I lost to aneurysm when I was 12yo. And all because of what? A damn Rosa Parks episode in Doctor Who! DAMNIT, DOCTOR!!!

omg that must have been a horrible experience and I no exactly how u feel because my sister died in a car crash 2 years ago but at least there a great chance he is alive so keep your hopes up and hopefully u don't get a police officer knocking on ur door who has to break the bad news to u like they did to me.

I remember hearing this song performed by another individual in Austin TX at Rosewood Park she sung it beautifully. At the time before hearing it I remember feeling disappointed cause see I was at June Teenth event being held there. I had made plans prior to the event to be a vendor there to make a profit towards a nonprofit organization I wanted so much to start to give back to the less fortunate etc... The opportunity was taken but the song did make me feel better🌻
