Andis Outliner Armature Adjustment

This trimmer is a modified Andis Outliner. In this video, I adjust the armature and tension fork. These adjustments need to be made throughout the life of the clipper and blade to make the blade travel 100% and hit the hardest, keeping those lines extra crisp!

    Great vid and channel! question...i notice the newer andis trimmers are lacking those 2 screws with the bolt. its two flushed screws now. how do you adjust the arm now?

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    I have not seen a new one because they are all still in warranty. To be honest you can not even use those 2 screws and just use the nut to hold in place. The 2 screws just help but if they are gone now, they probably just rivet it on. Thanks for watching and i hope i answered your question correctly.

    my t outliners would turn on, but after a while of using it, it turns off by itself. I would then let it sit for a while unplugged, and I'll give it a go and its up and running. But it does the same thing of shutting off by itself again while I use it, this gets me very upset because I don't know how to fix it and there is no tutorials to fix this on Google or KZread and I figured you were the perfect person to ask after watching this video.

    I have a question, I have a regular grey T-Outliner and a GTX that I got sharpened and serviced. They were solid for a couple of weeks, then all of the sudden they seemed to loose a lot of power to the point where the blade isn’t even moving. I spray it down and oil it and runs really good with power for a little and then does the same thing? What’s the solutions for them? How long do outliners last, or do they ever get bad.

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    hello. It sounds like the blade is dull. Blades go dull and need to be resharpened or the trimmer needs to be readjusted. I recommend having multiple blades. The trimmer can always be fixed.

    I had dropped them and chipped the blade so i got a new one, put it on and it wouldn't cut, finally got them to cut, but now they are just pulling pretty bad. I will try and tighten the tension. I also bagged it into the case, and bent the arms just a little like you showed. Thanks again! !

    +Jessica Martin Alot of new blades are not very sharp. I call it factory sharp bc a machine sharpens them and where i once worked, customers buy new blades and then have me sharpen them out of the package. It could just simply need to be sharpened. Or when you dropped you might have bent something. Well good luck and hope i help you figure out your problem.

    Adjust them with the with the ball of the fork at the upper part of the cutter. With 2 pounds of pressure and if that does not fix the noice it'll need to be sharpened to resurface it and put the correct pattern to insure it to cut correctly. Thank you watching

    I'm trying to decide between an Andis T-outliner VS. Andis superliner which one you choose for balding and line ups?

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    7 жыл бұрын

    Rio hello, the superliners have a rotary motor. That's good for power but there are no parts available. The blades of the super liner are on a guide that pivots so you can't adjust them with ease. The metal of the superliners blade is softer so it might not stay sharp as long. The outliners are adjusted easier and have all parts available thru the manufacturer. So I pick the Andis G Outliners for quality and parts availability But I'm also not a barber. I hope I helped and thanks for watching.

  • @cloudsdiamondsharpening3973

    adrian haynes Yes it can if the cutter blade is too far over. You can loosen the blade screws and slide it over to where that cutter doesnt go over the comb. If you cant adjust it good enough by moving the blade then you will need to adjust the tension fork.
