I agree about the adventure bike being the one to have and for me it's the Pan America. It's just plain fun to ride, power when you want/need it and the ride is second to none. I was on a group ride a few weeks ago and noticed the same things you observed about the riders ahead of me. They would bounce out of the seat, back wheel jumping off the ground when hitting some bumps or potholes. I've also had all types of bikes with the last three being Harley baggers and this PA is, hands down, my favorite. I laughed when you said you were old enough to be someone's dad. I'm a dad and a granddad! Enjoy the rides and keep the shiny side up!

Thanks, and it's great to hear you're enjoying the Pan Am! Have you had the experience of people asking you questions on group rides when you stop? I always thought I was the only one observing but I guess others are too. When it comes to the PA, it's still an oddity to a lot of H-D riders. I start getting questions usually during the 1st stop. Like when everyone has to slow down for train tracks and I zip right over them. The questions start about the suspension, then it's onto the HP. As always, thank you for watching and it's great you have kids and grandkids- you can pass on the riding bug!

@@Chase_N I have had riders and even some non-riders ask about it. Curious because it's different. I'm surprised at the number of folks that didn't realize that Harley made "a bike like that". No, you're not alone. It's hard not to notice the others bounce on the bumps.😄 And we've been there! I was talking to a Harley dealer and he said if Harley would incorporate some form of the active suspension into their street bikes that it would be a game changer. And I agree.

@@ski4ahigh215 lol, I actually had a guy ask me "Is that really a Harley?". Like you, I'm surprised they haven't added the suspension to at least the CVOs or maybe the Low Rider ST and Heritage Softails. My only guess is there's a weight limit at which it functions properly.

In the winter or colder temp months, I would go to Walmart and buy the emergency blankets. Then cut them and stuff the insulation in my gloves. They work great and use your own body heat. That's the super cheap option b/c those things are like $3 and you get a giant sheet. I also use that stuff to line my body in certain areas.

I'm just going to look for a pair of full leather gauntlet gloves with decent insulation. I got to ride every month last year save January, and that was because of snow. If it hits 40*F and it isn't icy, I'm taking the bike out. That was in jeans, boots, gloves, leather coat, canvas (now leather) vest, and helmet. The wind protection on the Pan Am really surprised me as the radiator covers act as lowers and keep your legs from getting too cold. I'll have to remember emergency blankets if it gets colder than 40*F on a ride home though. Thank you for the tip and for watching!

@@Chase_N for sure. I only really use that stuff when it's really really cold. I'll fold it up and just put it on my chest (not directly otherwise you'll sweat). There's a drawback though 😂 you'll sound like a Christmas morning when you walk.

suzuki just came out with a "crossover" motorcycle. Adventure frame, with the gsxr 100 motor on it. I think this will take it by storm, and "adventure" name will be reserved for the proper KLR's and tenere 700s

I've seen some press on it, the K5 motor is great. I kind of figured things would go this way being that crossovers have been really pushed over the last few years in the automotive world. ADVs (at least large ones like the PA and BMW GS) aren't really something the average idiot like me should take "off-road". The occasional gravel/dirt road is the worst guys do on ADVs, and even then it's rare. I'd bet the amount of guys who own ADVs who've never been off pavement or concrete is very high. If I didn't live on a gravel road, I'm not sure I ever would've tried an ADV. But as you seen in the vid, the "urban jungle" has plenty of roads that'll make an ADV's capabilities shine. A crossover can do the same and also not need to be so tall in the seat too. Oh no, lol, crossovers may be the future, we should prepare ourselves. Thank you for watching!

At the very beginning of the video I was expecting you to hit the throttle and either go around or split through the bikes! Seriously 😂 I may be in a smaller group but I fell in love with the Pan America the first time I saw it. Immediately. I was thinking about a BMW GS but am not a fan of the front end. The bike looks like it has a beak! As soon as I saw the Pan Am I knew I had to have it.

  • @Chase_N

Oh, I considered throttling out, but I adhere to polite motorcycle society's rules and etiquette. Splitting through a bunch of fellow riders would be frowned upon I'm sure. I thought the same when I saw the Pan Am, it looked better than the "beaked" bikes. I liked the Africa Twin and the Aprilia Tuareg for the same reason. I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt that way and thank you for watching!

Unless the thumbnail is of me or of the Pan Am at the gas station, it's almost always a motovlog. It's been that way for a long time. But thank you for the advice and for watching, maybe I'll change it up.
