Correction: the weight stated in the video is wrong, as the German official CFMoto site got it wrong 😂. It is 175kg dry, so similar to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The brakes are also not directly from Brembo as it turns out but instead from their spanish sub brand J.Juan. Sorry about that, annoys me to no end that I got that wrong.

A very constructive and unbiased review. I will purchasing one next year myself. I don't care about people's opinions on bikes made in China as they are pretty quick to dismiss how many things they purchase are made in the same country. CF Moto are going to become major players quickly if the Japanese don't pull their socks up. Keep up the good work and God bless. 👍🏿

I've had mine in Australia for a few weeks, and have done 1,200kms. Agree regarding the gearing being too short. I fitted a 15-tooth front sprocket (up 1 tooth), and that makes cruising at 110kph (max legal speed in Oz) much more comfortable, dropping by about 500rpm compared to standard, and making the speedo much more accurate. First gear becomes more usable, even off road, as the motor has a very good bottom end and mid range. I think a 16-tooth sprocket would fit if you were going to be doing a lot of freeway/autobahn riding. For my height (170cm) it's very comfortable on the highway with the screen raised. I can easily reach the ground, unlike on the bigger adv bikes - I'd love a T7, but I just don't fit! Other cons - from the factory the suspension is way too hard, but is easily softened. The fueling isn't perfect, being a little bit on/off at low speed - hopefully that will be fixed via software update. Yes, cruise control would be very nice, but it's a cable throttle rather than ride-by-wire, so that would require significant hardware update.

6:50 what you talking about? This is their 4th bike using that exact engine, it's not brand new, but it's 100% CFMoto's. The fact that they've used it on 3 other different bikes and the internet hasn't informed on red flags about them is a good sign.

And long maintenance intervals as the dr650.

Recently, I watched a KZread video about the same bike as in your video, and they said it has traction control, which contradicts what you said. I checked the CF Moto website, and there was no mention of traction control. Then, I checked another CF Moto website in a different language, and it said it has traction control, just like the video I watched earlier. Why is it so hard to have consistent specs on all CF Moto websites? And then there are KZread videos stating opposite facts.

Great review, it really does sound like the unicorn bike that so many have been waiting for. Japan is asleep at the wheel pumping out ancient DR650s and XR650Ls, Europe is happy to make bank on their upscale models, so China sees an opening and takes advantage. I am not worried about Chinese quality, but I'd rather not buy from an authoritarian geopolitical adversary. But damn if it's not tempting. Japan inc better get their act together soon!

Much more power, weight is similar, much smoother operation, much better brakes. Overall I think the better bike but seat height is higher.

I am looking at this bike to replace a 21’ cb500x. Anyone compared them both ? It seems to be a bit lighter, similar power but with a much better suspension which is my complaint with the Honda

Sometimes you just need to eat big miles, especially in America. CC makes it much more bearable. No one is riding freeways because they're fun.

Thanks for such a wonderful, informative video. I have a few questions, so if you don’t mind please.. How is the build quality? The plastic used. Any vibration issue? How about the heating, was there any? It’s a dual cylinder I believe, how was the thrust? As compared to Nx 500 or Himalayan 450, how do you judge it?

But, my own is still reliable - - - - and even not without moments of sheer excitement, LoL - - - - and so i sally forth, for the time being.. But dare i dream? U bet! And your descriptive nouns : "shenanigans"..... Lov it 😂

I'm not for China here but I'd call a spade a spade. Whenever someone said disparaging things about Made in China stuff, I'd point out that there are only 3 countries running their own space stations: US, Russia and China. That said, between the MT450 and RE Himalayan, I'd probably pick this one.

I think most people assume KTMs will break down in the first 10 minutes, mainly because they do. OTOH The Chinese? I think they know how to build things.

It's not xenophobic to be skeptical of Chinese bikes. Any manufacturer using factories over there for their bikes Also have quality control after to insure the Chinese built it right.

KTM version of this with TBW and a rally fuel tank would be great. It would have to slot in between the 390 and 790 though so don't expect top shelf components.

ABS switch needs to turn off both FRONT and rear (not just rear) for safe off road riding. To be fair, most manufacturers also do this ... a failing for sure

Not true. With abs left on in the gron I can brake just as hard or even harder in dirt. I own a EU enduro bike without ABS so know what is available and the behaviour.

@dronepilot6512 yes true. Front ABS off on steep decending slippery (like gravel) surface is safest. Once your front ABS activates in these situations, you are then unable to control your decent.

Many of the issues that the first journalists have mentioned about this bike on their first rides, can be solved by leaving the bike exactly as it is, but sticking a Husqvarna sticker on top of CFMoto's branding. That's it,
