Ancient Indian Fitness Group Kochi | Mudgar | Gada | Indian Clubs | Clubbell

Спорт

Back in January 2022 I visited Kochi and stayed with Nithin aka the shredded farmer. Together we visited this amazing group that is inspiring others to swing wooden tools. They are creative with their clubs and make all kinds of clubs inspired by every tradition from India, Persia, Russia and the west. From clubbell, to indian clubs, to persian meels, to gada, to kettlebells. Basically everything that swings they try and I love it. It was also special to sign all the clubs, I had never done that before :)

The pride that guy had in the maces he made was awesome! His happiness at seeing what he made being used and enjoyed was infectious! Then to see him swing his own mace one-handed after not believing that he could was just the perfect result on top of that guys work. Truly my favorite part of this video!

I’m about to step up from 3 lbs club bells and buy my first 20 lbs. If that goes okay I’m going to start looking for something wooden and more traditional. Probably from the guy who makes Zenkahuna’s. But right now my all important question is, what are those shoes you’re wearing. I’m a barefoot shoe-aholic and they look very interesting.

This is what we practicing in okinawan karate. Mainly goju, shorinryu and uchi-ryu. But gatha is very popular in all over india. Most of the indian martial artists are still using this tool make them stronger. I think the karlakattai is very familiar in tamil martial art culture. But I believe the concept came from David culture from south india, particularly from ancient tamil culture. If wrong please correct me. Because I’m a martial art researcher past 3 decades. I hope it would be helpful for me to improve my knowledge….
