DUDE. The reimagined duel looks *incredible!* Especially the win when Anakin touches into the dark side to overwhelm Dooku. It feels more legit while also making Anakin look even more like a powerhouse.

Although he loses here I find Dooku's style to be so badass, and your reimagined version does it justice! Would love to see your take on some of his fights with Anakin in The Clone Wars.

Well, lightsabers aren't supposed to glow THAT strongly. ^^; This has always been an element of how Jedi fight though. It's most prominent in how they deflect blaster bolts, since they often have to move their sabers almost before the shot fires to intercept it.

This is the first lightsaber duel I have ever seen where the sabers actually *Clash* and its not just flashy choreo and posse. VERY GOOD JOB

Your lightsaber skills are good and all but the actor that played Palpatine is on another level entirely

Seeing Pupitine caught me really of guard and I just bursted into a fit of laughter.

Hayden Christianson and Christopher Lee are and were amazing facial actors, so the facial acting ranging from equal to better than the original is absolutely amazing! The matching of lip flaps by all three actors is near perfect as well!

Big Issue here, that is also an issue of the limitation of the Great, Late Christopher Lee, is Dooku's fighting style in this reimagining is nothing at all like the style he is supposed to have, as seen in other media like the Clone Wars, Dooku's style is much more direct and almost fencing like, rather than spinning, jumping and blocking. If you watch, a lot of his combat through the show is single handed lunges that intertwine with simple blocks and parries in a two handed grip that allows him to put distance between him and his opponent to go back to a more single handed fencing style. In your version, you can't tell the difference between the light saber forms. He also used his vastly stronger connection to the force to often just choke/electrocute enemies without having to go through so much trouble. This isnt to say he didnt spin, or twirl, or do anything fancy, but his hilt was designed specifically for thrusting, and not so much swinging, and his lightsaber form was notorious for "1 tapping" opponents, by putting all your strength into a force lunge and slipping through the traditional guard used by Sith/Jedi. I hope my take doesn't make too much controversy, but I think your version is definitely entertaining to watch, a sub and upvote from me! EDIT: I rewatched again, JUST TO BE SURE, and I notice that a lot of reimagined Dooku's swings are single handed, which is better than I was initial typing, but still not HIS form (Form 2, Makashi), for example, in the pause between fights, Dooku in the show would simple lower his weapon and back pedal until a lunge could be made, not have the over head block traditionally seen in Form 3, which is Obi-wans Lightsaber form. Thats my issue with the reimagining, is its too much a mirror of Obi-wan vs Anakin in the Final Act.

Also I think dooku with all his experience as a duelist would be able to slow the pace to his style, the way anakin defeats him in the movie is anakin gradually puts more and more power on his shots and more volume that overwhelmed dooku.

@The Archangel They had a reason to make it slow. The technology limitations were so severe that they had to literally draw on the sabers. So they had to make it slow so artists could keep up with the blades. Also, cannonically, both were holding back against each other, dodging and reluctant to kill.

Return of the Jedi Luke vs Vader is easily one of my favorite Star Wars moments, with the music score reflecting so much emotion, but the choreography isn't the best. Please reenact this scene.

I would love nothing more seeing a reenact version and a reimagined version of that.

Nice but I can see why Christopher Lee kept acting until his death. Its because he was VERY GOOD at it. The guy playing mock-Dooku was going back and forth doing his impression of Dooku and his own thing.

you definitely should reinterpret and reimagine either or both of the Luke vs Vader fights. As emotional and epic the original version is, I really wish to see how Luke might actually look in the prequel or more flashy style of combat.

Amazing choreography, only wish it was longer. The moment where Dooku shifted to a single grip to strike quickly was extremely accurate. Cool duel, subbed!

Your additional initial lightsaber duel b4 it continues from the movie is beyond in showcasing the combative precognitive fighting ability is on an exceptional level. Dog Palpatine is surprisingly wholesome

1:48 I love these little dodges here, shows how determined they both are that only one of them is gonna survive this duel. The force with which the sabers smash together afterwards is *glorious*

I love how improved the pacing and feel of the reimagining is over the original, feeling much closer to how a fight between two powerful force users would be in-universe. This is especially impressive without the reality-breaking capabilities of CGI, and a testament to the excellent planning, practice, and execution of the choreography! Movements are swift and fluid, and each impact is weighty and powerful, the fight capturing the hectic and high stakes nature of a fight for survival much more effectively than in the film. A saber fight that I'd like to see reimagined, if feasible, is The Last Jedi throne room saber fight. It had so much potential the execution decisively failed to capture, and I'd love to see it done in a way that fully embodies what could have been.

Wow, this was awesome! I gotta say, your reimagining is the superior duel, both technically and from a story telling perspective. I really feel Dooku's overwhelm and desperation in yours towards the end. I did not really get that from the original. Also, loved how you focused on Anakin instead of Dooku when their blades locked so you could see his anger and hatred that Dooku is describing, it makes SO much more sense. And the dodging and attacking is such a good touch (they needed more of this in the prequels to show off how Force users would actually fight with premonitions).

Man, one of the best lightsaber fights, reimagined or not, that i have ever seen! And one of the things that this particular fight in the movies leaves me thinking about is that, well, Anakin is the chosen one and all, but let’s face it, it’s pretty incredible that Dooku was able to hold two jedi (and not any jedi, mind you) at bay with almost 100 years old. Imagine if they fought at his prime, when he was still a jedi.

This was badass. Fantastic work all.
