Thanks, Justin! This and our Crisloid magnetic are our go to coffee shop boards depending what we're doing. I bring it to the club pretty often too, but everyone wants to play on "big" boards. I love our little boards, hahah. We consider ourselves very lucky! So many great people in this game, that's for sure. Hopefully we can play together at some point too. Great to see you back! I have the neptune adventure board and love playing on it. I also have the cassio inlay and checkers for my earth board. While the cassio checkers really pop and feel good in the hand, I prefer playing with the finger dish style as they glide across the board a little better than the matte ones. Looking forward to more content from you! cheers.

I'd love to get an Earth Board at some point. Do you have an Instagram or anything? I don't believe I've seen the Earth Board with the Cassio inserts. I'd love to check it out. Very valid point on the finger dish. I've run into that a few times as well. I wonder if they'll make the matte checkers with finger dish ever. I enjoy the dull finish. Cheers!

Sorry, I don't have an Instagram account, but I think the cassio inlays look great on the wooden framing of the earth board, likewise the monte carlo and I'm guessing the new apollo inlays too. I'm pretty sure Galaxy will introduce an adventure board with changeable inlays soon, I think that's a strong selling point for the FM Gammon boards. My adventure board has also gotten a few little dings along the way and I use a black marker pen to cover 'em up. Finally, my wife had a chuckle at the part of your video where Bri beats you, as like you, I'm always studying whereas she doesn't and still gives me a kicking from time to time. So frustrating 🤣😂

Nice video bro! That's a bummer about the checkers though. I personally would have requested a new set of checkers. $400+ equals to a custom tournament board from Crisloid. Crisloid is able to put out better checkers at that cost. Why can't FM Gammon/Backgammon Galaxy do it for what they are charging for a travel board? Even though it is aesthetics, it's still the principle of the matter. You pay good money you deserve good quality. The next one on your list is a board with Bakelite/Catalin checkers. Which are my favorite checkers to play backgammon with.

Beautiful board 👌 But this is the problem with galaxy and fmgammon. They want to charge luxury prices, but the quality and quality control are not at this level. For comparison, the Crisloid quality is on point, and the prices much lower.

No idea why this popped up, but the algorithm is what it is. All I know is, I need to build my own board, as it blows my mind how much they get for this one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the board, it's just not what I expected. Fun video, btw, well done.

Another great video! For the price, the quality assurance needs to be better (though props on BG for good customer service).

That board is sick. But i rather buy the crisloid magnetic set and save some money. Nice to see a new video.

The colors and sounds are just so awesome. The Crisloid Magnetic is a phenomenal board and you can't go wrong with it! It really depends where I'm going to determine which one I use. Cheers!

Thank you for another great video Justin. I hope your family is doing well. This is a great board for travel or to play when space is limited like in a coffee shop. I wonder if they use the Mag Fit technology so the surfaces can be changed like other Galaxy and FM Gammon boards.

@@blunderblots I also believe they don't do mag fit on the adventure board because of the weight. It's meant to be compact and light, for travelling purposes, so they saved some weight by not inserting magnets into the board.

Welcome back. I missed your videos. Hope you will post more often. I have a mini earth board.It has the same size as your board. However ist is made of oak. I thought oak is harder than your beech wood. However I just read it is not harder but I have the feeling my board is sturdier. Can't explain why. Love my earth board.

Thanks for the welcome back! I'm definitely hoping to post more. My wife and I welcomed our second child and going from one to two has been challenging in the time allotment department, hahah. I was so tempted to go with the Mini Earth Board, but I couldn't resist the colors of the Cassio, haha. Seeing the wood grain would definitely give me a subconscious sturdy feel I think, so I understand where you're coming from. Cheers!

Great video and review. Not to forget your channel. I'm a subscriber now. I've been looking at the adventure boards from Backgammon Galaxy for some time now. I haven't pulled the trigger yet because of the price range. I love the boards, especially the popping colors and the sound of it. Congratulations with your new board. Been looking at the Crisloids as an alternative, but I'm not a fan of the cork inlays. I much prefer the softer inlays, such as on the adventure board. Anyway, I found another alternative - the Mini Nature board from FM Gammon for $250. It's the same size, the same inlays. The checkers looks amazing. The white and brown finger dished checkers reminds me of capuccino and macchiato - will fit perfectly in at a cafe or beach bar. Haven't received it yet, but expected to have the board in the coming days. Will post a comment later if I find any flaws. But from earlier experience with Backgammon Galaxy, I haven't found any flaws with my purchased producs. I've purchased some precision dice, the tempest game clock and the prototype tournament sized Nova Board (purchased for only $127). I was expecting flaws with the Nova Board, but couldn't find any - all 45 mm checkers looked really, really good, and the playing surface looked and felt really good. And I agree, Sir, the sound of the soft inlays with the wooden frame is simply unbeatable. It's my favourite combo, without a single doubt.

Hello! Thanks for the comment! I have a friend who has one of the FM Gammon mini nature boards (also the Nova) and he's very happy with his. They're great little boards. I almost went that route as well. Who knows, maybe I still will at some point, haha.They make me think of an old library and I dig that. The coffee comparison is spot on! I've become a big fan of small portable boards. Most of my play is at coffee shops, friends houses, etc. It's just so convenient with small boards. Cheers!

The full sized Nova Board is fantastic for home games, but I looked like a Russian hitman when travelling with it. Much easier with a smaller board, but couldn't play on my cheap travel board from the 90s anymore - it's not the same anymore since playing on a high quality board.

The imperfections in the checkers are unacceptable for a $500 board, IMHO. Doesn't sound like it matches the "meticulously crafted" ideal...

We had our second child and it delayed the channel a bit, haha ;) I appreciate your opinion! :) I loved the colors from the get go, but it took me a little bit to warm up to it due to the cons given. Over time I've really come to enjoy it, especially for the sounds you get from it. Definitely on the pricier side though, I agree. The Black Friday discount helped out nicely there. What about the weight? Is it easy to carry. It looks fantastic. And i agree that BG Galaxy is very customer friendly. If you have issues with your purchase, they will work with you.

Weight's never come to mind for me or Bri so I would say that's a good thing. Very easy to take on the go and not worry about it. Definitely an enjoyable board. My experience with their customer support was very good and I really felt very taken care of. Cheers!

I love the colors but I can't justify spending this much money for something like this. I already have two 19-20 inch boards and a 13" Crisloid haha.

I went back and forth on it for a while too. I've always wanted one of their larger boards but I can't afford one. I saved for a bit and with the help of the Black Friday sale, I finally pulled the trigger. I'm a sound guy for filmmaking and the sounds were just to enticing, haha. It sounds like you have a nice selection to pull from! Having fun playing the game is the main thing. Cheers!
