Awesome stuff Jason. I love your approach in these videos. So digestible. XG is so powerful. It's even better when you have a pro like Nick or John O'Hagan etc...to explain why XG calculated a particular move as best. That's what separates the pros from the amateurs.

I like your videos! You’re running XG on a Mac, right? How did you do it?

Hi Sam! Thank you very much! 😀 I am running it on Mac. I tried a few different ways, but what's worked best for me is CodeWeavers CrossOver. There's a few quirks, like scrolling is a little weird, but I just click and drag the slider now. Also if you transcribe a match, XG++ analysis is a little slower than I'd like (but maybe my mac isn't powerful enough). Otherwise I've been very happy with it. 😀

Nick’s shirt is colorful and playful on the surface, but it has upside-down crosses (anti-Christian) and Wiccan (witchcraft) signs all over it. Those are not playful signs. They are signs of evil and makes me wonder if Nick dabbles in the dark side. Does he know what he is wearing? I don’t know, but makes me wonder about him. It’s not good if he does.

Hey, good afternoon. I have the mobile version, but it stopped updating a long time ago, and it only runs on older versions of android. I bought the PC version now, but I would really like to continue using the mobile and it's not working. I looked again in the PlayStore and did not find it. But it is a really top program. Thanks.

It appears it's not supported on android anymore which is a real bummer because I also use the mobile version a lot. It's a great program for improving and trying to get better that's for sure. Ok so dumb question for those who understand XG - can it still be downloaded on a windows computer? An iPad? Are android devices the only devices it can't be used on anymore?

Not a dumb question at all! Yes, it can still be downloaded onto a Windows computer (currently). I don't know if there's going to be any changes with it any time soon. I don't believe it's being supported anymore sadly. I'm sure something new will come along at some point. Cheers!

I have the Desk top and find it is hard to understand how to use the data. Also your subscription is per device.

Hi curty! Yeah, I hear that. I still have a hard time with a lot of the data. Nick's video series that I linked in the description was really helpful for a deeper dive. Looking at individual positions and trying to find out why that's the "best" move has been the most helpful to me. Good to know on the subscription per device. Thanks for watching and cheers! 😀

I saw one, but not the other. I was actually in the middle of commenting on it and it errored out. I've had that happen when I've commented on others channels too and I've never been able to figure out why. It's very frustrating... But to your previous comment, I've been wanting to jump into Backgammon Galaxy. I have limited experience on it, but part of that's been purposeful as I want to do a video on it, haha. Interesting... I wonder if that's a recent thing or if it's been that way for a while. ☹ I've only ever used it on iPhone unfortunately. The desktop version is definitely worth it (in my eyes at least). It was hard to get past the $60 price tag at first, especially as a beginner, but it’s really been helpful for analyzing positions and overall study.

@@blunderblots I have it installed on my Android phone (since roughly six months now), but can't find it anymore on the Android Play store. It has the name XG Mobile. Perhaps someone is working on an update and erroneously first removed the existing version before uploading a new one?

Nice video, I'm almost ready to invest in XG. However, I can't help but notice your illegal move in the intro.

Hi Mark! Ah yes, I see what you mean. I I was filming that portion for fun by myself and just getting piece movement for the video, but from a game perspective that’s absolutely an illegal move. Good catch! I’ll work on improving that type of extra footage so that it’s all cohesive and makes sense. 😃 It’s a great program to play and tinker with and well worth the investment for study in my opinion. Yeah, that was my thought at first too 😂 I didn’t bite the bullet for a good several months. If you have an iPhone I believe it’s free with limited features to try out. That’s what I did for a while and still what I use the most. Cheers! 😃
