Be careful guys. I had a guy ask me to buy his kid formulas and diapers. I felt so bad so at first I tried to give him $10 and he said he didn't want cash but held onto the ten. I have a hard time saying no to people so I walked with him to self check out and I am not kidding, it came out to be about $100. He kept saying " I need the receipt". That took me by surprise b/c I kept thinking.."hmm why would he want the receipt". I wanted to take the receipt as I paid for it but he kept his hand out...so I just let it go. that is when I sensed something was off. Keep in mind, he still has the $10 too. We walk out the store and he just keeps looking at me, thats when it occurred to me that he is using the RECEIPT to return the items and get cash for it. I waited in the parking lot and I seen him lurk around the grocery store. I ended up driving away, feeling ashamed of myself for not having the guts to say no. Just be careful, they will take advantage of your kindness.

El Chico del Apartamento 512 - Sad but ohhh so true! When I see someone who looks like they have the weight of the world on their shoulders, I find something I can honestly compliment them on. Especially women. Just saying something like "Your purse is so cute/lovely/so unique" or "I just wanted to tell you that this color of blue is beautiful on you!". As long as it's a sincere compliment, you'd be amazed at the reactions. So many women have told me that it's the first compliment they've heard in YEARS! A small little kindness can go a long ways.

Peace and love can rule the world. Just try it.

When our son was around 5 or 6, he was very curious about debit cards & how the machine worked. So, I taught him my pin number & we practiced 'checking out' at home. The next time we went to the grocery store, I gave him a boost up & handed him my card. He was SO proud of himself! Then the lady behind me loudly said, "You think you're having fun with your kid now but, I'll guarantee that he'll take your card some time & start to order things off the internet until your broke!". Michael gave her a very serious look & told her, "No I won't! That would be stealing!". I was a very proud Mom that day(& every day before & since!)

There really are alot of good people around. I remember when my mother was in a wheelchair, people always came to open doors for us. One man passing by on the sidewalk lifted her out of the car seat into the chair when i just didn't have the strength to do it. ElusvOptmst1 It is not a 'great act of kindness'. It is just 'being nice'. A 'great act of kindness' would be to donate your next wages to the poor. Or invite a family which cannot afford christmas for to your christmas dinner. Showing a little kid how the cashier works is 'being nice'. Or to put it in other words: If *that* is a great act of kindness', what is 'inviting a poor family to celebrate christmas with your family'?

first of all, the news story literally opened up with "here is an example of whats working in Miami" so we already know it's "normal" there lol. but not everyone watching youtube news channels are local, and it's just a little news story. anyways, it's important to distribute good news because it keeps up positive emotionally, physically, and mentally. if news stories like this aren't a big deal to you, don't watch them?
