exactly, or at least put that clip without cuts first and put the cut versions later. and a speedometer on screen would have been nice, and maybe a maximum value for the accelerometer as well.

It’s ironic that you’re saying we don’t have an attention span, that’s precisely what we are accusing the video maker of doing: lots of terribly fast, and useless edits. There were so many better ways to shoot this, including a deep slo-mo, so we could get a real feel for the acceleration and how it affects the physical machine. Go look for some slo-mo videos and see how they’re shot. We, the audience, have a way better perspective.

The Brabham BT46B (Formula One fan car) from 1978 also generated an unbelievable amount of downforce and acceleration from a standing start. Great to see the technology making a comeback to break world records in the electric vehicle space.

Why everyone keep bothering about camera angle? It looks fine to me, the dashcam whole run is quite good, and the edit looks cool. Probably it because they only have one dash cam shot in every Dozens of attempt, and only few beauty shot and didnt catch the world record attempt moment. The attempt is probably not only 1 day guys.

For those of us who don't normally use the metric system, 100 kmh is 62.1371mph and 12.3 metres is 40' 4 1/4". Put another way, they went from a standing start to roughly 60 mph in approx. double the length of your living room. I don't know what's more impressive, the time or the distance.

Making the camera angles go wild doesn't enhance the action. Top Gear made the same mistake all the time, it just kills any point of reference for the viewers.

Can you tell us, whats the reason behind not using drag racing glue like TrackBite in this test? Its on every good drack strip. Do the ground effects prevent it??

There's no ground effect involved here, just simple suction.

Open cockpits are light but not the optimum aerodynamic option. Could the time be improved with a carbon shell making it a closed cockpit weighting 3 or 4 kilograms more ?

There's a clip that addresses some of this car's technical aspects a bit deeper, made by a swiss news agency. Someone in the team said the car achieves it's own weight + driver's weight while standing still. So 140kg(car)+40kg(driver)=180kg of static downforce. Expected, given the area covered by the floor and side skirts, but impressive nonetheless

Wait until you realise normal sports cars have the same acceleration and deceleration in terms of Gs. Because the tire grip is the limit for both. That's why these guys built a vacuum thing to make the car handle like it's driving on Jupiter lol

Good job the brakes worked considering you had a car and a box trailer parked lengthwise across the end of your marked out track. Would have been interesting to see how big a dent it would have made in the side of that car if something had gone wrong.

OMG the editing - seriously? I swear some people can't see the forest behind all the trees. The purpose of video editing is not to send epilectics into a seizure with this flashy visual porridge that fails to communicate the visceral feel of the moment. There is not one single uninterrupted 3rd person view of the run at all - hack, chop, jump, wtf, I got nothing out of it except frustration. Great technical work all around, congratulations, but the video produciton side gets a D-minus, sorry!
