Thank you Peter! It definitely would benefit with some lighting. I really like this old kit! 😁

It kind of reminds me of the Moonraker base out in space from that James Bond movie.

They were probably inspired by this. Must have been some Star Trek fans that worked on that movie! 😄

Very nice job on the weathering. I always wanted to have this model, I just never got around to obtaining one. I remember the original Star Trek AMT models. The easiest one was the Galileo shuttlecraft. The one model that you had to position correctly and glue correctly was the Enterprise model from AMT, especially the nasel engines. I still might buy the K-7, except I'll put lighting in it. And, thanks for the tip about the decals, and the sagging struts. Something I'll watch out for. The rounded hump that is added onto the dish section of your model was added to the anniversary model kits after the Deep Space Nine episode where the Deep Space Nine staff go back in time to the time of Kirk visiting station K-7. The CGI added hump was the storage compartments of the K-7 station in that episode of Deep Space Nine. Regarding the size of the little Enterprise that comes with the kit, it is not in proper scale. The K7 station is smaller than the Deep Space Nine station. In scale, the Enterprise will be about the size of the Eaglemoss Star Trek Collections Enterprise.

Thank you! I've always loved this kit even with its flaws. I definitely think lighting would make it better. I did a video about that Enterprise kit and the new improvements eliminated the sagging nacelles which is fantastic. I wish this kit could have gotten the same treatment. I hope you can get this. I think you'll enjoy the build! 😁

It was also used on Lost in space. I am somewhat sure.

It was a different model used for Lost In Space. That one was more round and had clear antenna type of things at the top.
