I use a small hairdryer to help set the decals once I have worked most of the moisture from under the decal. That works quite well for me.

Very nice work on the decals. You are exactly right about having to be patient when you are doing decals. You did a great job with only messing up one of the decals. Also, the custom color mix looks wonderful and is very, very close to the actual color. You have the magic touch for mixing paint. When I put my NASCAR bodies on the chassis, I always attach them with glue. Like your AMT kit, you have to stretch the bodies on the Monogram kits too. When you assemble the chassis. Be sure to glue as many parts as possible before paint. Especially, the roll cage. You can easily attach the roll cage ti the chassis after paint if you are painting the chassis a different color. Then I print my nascar kits I first print the inside before printing the outside that way the decals is safe good luck with the kits you are doing a great job

To hold your helmet, you can use the Power tack on the back. This will hold it in place, but you can still get it off without damaging anything.

Looks great, fantastic job. With the brake vents on the lower front bumper, this will be a short track car. A road race car in the day would probably have the fuel fill on the other side because they ran down pit road in the other direction.

Looks great. Now may I suggest what I do for around the windows is use a black sharpie marker on the inside. It’s a lot cleaner luck and no mess 😁& also I Use a black sharpie for the vents in the front and the silver outline

The car looks awesome! It's nice to see someone build the kodak car. It didn't matter who the driver was, that was always my favorite car. Thay was always the car I rooted for. Thanks for building that one.

Wow! That looks nice! I always shied away from large decals because they never looked the way I wanted them to. I always let my paint do the talking. Now I just make them presentable to suit me, my hands aren't good enough to do any great detail. That clear puts all my old lacquer jobs look like 400 grit sandpaper..... LOL! Ten thumbs up! As nice as 2K lays down straight out of the airbrush it really comes to life after a flatten and polish.

You did good Matthew. Decals just require extensive patience. Gonna be a tough lookin car. Miss ol swervin irvan. By the way, you said you had no mesh. If you have any old air filters off a car around, many times the mesh in an old air filter is a nice size.

Watching this I remembered I had a #4 Kodak NASCAR in the stash somewhere and had to check whether it was the same kit. Went and found it - turns out mine's the 1/24 Monogram 1995 Daytona 500 winning Monte Carlo driven by Stirling Martin. Love how your decals came out - really nice job Matthew.

You did a great job on the decals Matthew 👍👍😎 I would like to build a stock car at some point. I would build either Dale Earnhardt Sr #3 GM Goodwrench or Mark Martin #6 Valvoline stock cars.

I think you did a fantastic job on them. To help them lay down better, try using a hair dryer on the lowest setting it will help them lay down better.

The decals on the front bumper, I sometimes cut them up in smaller pieces if it possible

I don't watch Nascar either...but I never had more fun doing a model. I did the coors one many years ago ...I don;t even know who the driver was. I think I'm going to try the Jeff Gordon Dupont ...I'm due!

Yeah I prefer Monogram Nascar over AMT.
