That's insane like literally this is the most true to scale accurate model of a cup car from that era I have ever seen. He didn't miss a single part on it if it was in 1-1 scale you couldn't tell the difference I build and drive latemodels have been my whole life and he literally built a replica 1/24 scale cup car to the exact details it's insane and all the scratch built stuff is so accurate wow man wow and the wires for gauges and the ignition tray I call it with the two boxes and coil and fire bottle wow just WOW. You missed one small thing and thats starting it up lmao. Mark where do you get the threaded rod from. And can you point me in the direction of a tutorial on drilling out the 80's NASCAR rims.
@MarkBatsonHobbydude007
2 жыл бұрын
I got the 000-120 threaded rod from “small parts.com”. I don’t think they are around now. You can still find it online but it is pricey! Several guys are using guitar string. I’m going to be looking at that myself. As for drilling out the wheels. I picked up an arrowhead aluminum template a number of years ago. Shapeways 3-D printing makes some awesome pre-drilled 1/24 scale nascar wheels from that era. Have an awesome week!!

Thank you my friend!! The sunglasses are from “detail master”. The a/n fittings are from “pro-tech” and “detail master”. Thanks again for watching!!
So freaking real looking! Outstanding detail work sir! Just curious, I've watched a couple of your videos, about how long does it take you to complete a build?

Big thanks Joe! Most of my full detailed builds take from two to four months. Thanks again for watching!
And to think it all came about because of a photo-etch restrictor plate. Great job ol' buddy.

excellent build Mark. Detail work is awesome. Do you scratch build a lot of the detail parts or are they from a kit? Asking as this could be a future build and i like the way the details parts make the car look very real.

Thanks Luke! Much of it is scratch built. There are several photo-etch and resin parts as well. Thanks again for watching!

Big Thanks Man! I still have no idea what I'm doing. Using up old pix right now, then I hope to do some how-to vids.
Amazing work Mark ! May I ask where your specific detail parts ? Like the shocks, reservoirs, cannisters etc. ?
@MarkBatsonHobbydude007

Thank you Raymond!! The shocks are scratch built items from K&S aluminum tubing. All of the tanks are from Detail Master. Thanks for watching!
Mark where do you get the threaded rod from. And can you point me in the direction of a tutorial on drilling out the 80's NASCAR rims.

One of the articles I cut out of Scale Auto for future motivation. What disc brakes did you use? Was it a kit from MCG or somewhere.

Many thanks bro! As I recall, the brake disc set was from ""Arrowhead Aluminum".

@@MarkBatsonHobbydude007 I ordered a bunch of stuff from them from your list in the article. I don't think they're around anymore. Neither is Modern Motorsports I think.
Crazy, I have that same Tide car and was thinking of converting it into Coles Superflo. Where did you get the underbody and and all that? Looks like the only thing you used from the kit was the main body.

Thank you my friend!! Yes, the kit body was used as well as the kit chassis with a lot of modifications and scratch built goodies. Have fun with your build! Appreciate ya watching!!

Mark, is the Model Car World paint ready to spray or do you have to thin it?
@MarkBatsonHobbydude007

The enamels need to be thinned. The lacquers are pre-thinned and ready to airbrush. I use mostly the lacquers myself.
Didn’t I see this car in fine scale auto a number of years ago??

@@MarkBatsonHobbydude007 You are most welcome! Well deserved recognition in my humble opinion. Not often do we see all aspects presented in a public way. Skill, Dedication, Accuracy, Attention Detail, Creativity, I could go on but the idea is that it’s rare to find them all in one place. Well done Sir, and I’m sure I speak for most here when I say that we look forward to seeing where you have been spending your time lately. Do you have anything in the world currently? Or a project in mind but have not cleaned the table for yet?
