Cool Little setup! Just so you know, the reason there is a mono stereo switch on this amp is because it can be run in mono block mode where all the amplification goes to one output channel. You, of course, would then need to amplifiers to run stereo. Also, the auxiliary output on the back can be used for a subwoofer. You would need a 3.55MM to RCA adapter cable and a sub with crossover controls to do this, but it can be done.

Great advice. What do you think may be the best photo pre-amp to use on something like this?😀

Definitely a reasonably priced amplifier for someone who wants a simple and easy to operate setup. You have had many turntables with line level outputs, and some with built in amplifiers and speakers with them. It would be interesting to see the difference when this amp is used as an upgrade to one of those turntable systems. Keep up the cool videos.

These small amps can be quite decent indeed. You have to calculate your own power numbers though. This unit for example CAN output up to 300W per channel, but only with 4 Ohms speakers, and with a different power supply, that outputs 50 Volts. At 36 Volts and 8 Ohms you're kinda looking at 90W. And that is the MAX power for very short time periods. Broken down to "RMS" numbers, you're looking at roughly 45W per channel. For a digital amplifier that is a very decent number, and the sound will be fantastic with a decent set of speakers.

I presume it's a class-D amplifier and, at their best, they can be truly excellent.

The amplifiers I use are the Kinter MA 170 mini amplifier and the Onkkyo TX-2100. The Kinter doesn't have the power of the Aiyima, but I'm not too concerned about that. I use that with my laptops. The Onkyo I use for listening to music from CD's, LP's and cassettes and sometimes MP3's from my smart phone or media player. I also have a Sherwood RX-4109 which my dad used to use but I now use it in one of my rooms. Also good for listening to music in Hi-Fi Stereo.

There's an easier way to do this: the Aiyima A06 has a built in phono stage as well as regular line inputs, and separate bass and treble controls. I've used one for a couple of years in my home office. It drives a pair of Radio Shack Minimus 7 speakers, and I connect both a turntable and computer audio to it. The sound is excellent for a small room and the amp is tiny, like the one you tested.

6:00 "Tivoli" is an electronics brand that typically makes radios, often with a weather band included, or a solid compact system that contains an AM/FM radio, CD player, and Bluetooth, etc. so perhaps that was a Tivoli bookshelf all-in-one stereo system originally with a main unit and those two flanking speakers.

As you normally prefer to use powered speakers, perhaps you ought to have tried one of the Chinese pre-amps. I've read that the Arylic BP50 allows a choice between several inputs, including a phono stage. That would be interesting for you to test.

Great Scott , Marty !!! 😂😂😂 Yeah, there's no way that amp pumps out 150 watts rms per channel. That's a PMPO output rating, which is basically a joke. It probably puts out about 10 to 20 watts rms per channel. I use a vintage 90's Technics AM/FM receiver. Along with a semi automatic direct drive Technics turntable. Along with an Onkyo dual cassette deck and Onkyo 6 disc CD changer/player. Speakers are a pair of KLH 12 inch 3 way tower speakers. Sounds pretty decent ! Not the best but, certainly not the worst. 😎👍

Cheers and regards from NYC. Almost always watch all you put out. Meanwhile lots of other audio YT'ers just showed what they saw at AXPONA. I've never heard high-end in person. Is there a real point for me (or you or many of the viewers for that)? Mid end / entry level wannabe gear is my level. I like to be aware of a range of gear. Saw also some Record Store Day previews. The lines are gonna start in a while (It's past 12.30 am) at many of the participating shops.

This is off topic, but I noticed something new on the wall behind you. Looks like a framed Patsy Cline record jacket and record. I don't recognize the jacket. What is it, and what is the significance that you had it framed? I, too, am a Patsy Cline fan.

This looks messy lol. I have a stereo receiver with a phono input. Makes it so easy, but you do what you have to do. My speakers are passive. Everything goes through the receiver including a CD player, but because it was built before CDs, it's going through the second tape deck input.

An easy way to strip wire if you don't have wire strippers take a pair of scissors and cut slightly through the plastic until you can just see the wire then pull the plastic off with your teeth my Grandad showed me how to do it that way when i was growing up

It's quite possible that many people buy them just to check them out and return them because they never intended to keep them in the first place. What were the reviews like, and how many reviews were there? I'm not vouching for this product at all. I do have the original A07 in use every day on my work computer, so it gets roughly 40 hours a week of use in a pretty big office and I find it to be quite good. It's doesn't even get very hot. I run Polk Audio Monitor 60s with it and it's plenty loud with good bass and no detectable distortion. I use my computer as the source through a USB connection to a Topping E30 DAC. I know I'll get a load of criticism for what I'm about to say, but I feel it's truly a high fidelity system. The speakers aren't the most analytical, but the system sounds really great. All of that said, the original A07 is not the same as the amp in this video, but it's the same maker and the predecessor to this model.

Oooh, some Walmart special cheap-@$$ speakers, but seem to be good enough for the purposes of this video. For that one speaker that has a very short bit of speaker wire, you could splice in some additional speaker wire. Normally, that is not ideal, but then again, for those crappy speakers, no big deal. That rated power is 300 watts PEAK into 4 Ohms. I would not be surprised if the actual RMS (Root Mean Square) power rating on that amp is maybe 40 watts into 8 Ohms at the most (tried to find such rating, but no such luck), but for most typical listening situations with good speakers, that should be plenty good enough. By comparison, my big Emotiva Gen 3 XPA-DR is 300 watts RMS into 8 Ohms per channel. If I hooked my Emotiva to those cheap Walmart speakers and turned it up all the way, it WOULD blow them up! But than again, my amp is a very large device that weighs nearly 80 pounds and those Klipsch RF-7s speakers that I have can take the power. Of course, I don't come anywhere CLOSE to turning up my system all the way. If I did the thing is so friggan loud, the whole neighborhood would know what I am listening to! I made the mistake doing that JUST ONCE! Friggan pegged the needle on my SPL meter - thus it was over 130 dBs! And it did not distort! Won't be doing that again! 😲 That "mono" and "stereo" switch allows you to use this amp as a single-channel "mono-block", thus you could use a separate amp for each channel (two amps for two-channel stereo listening, five amps in a 5.1 home theater type setup). Can be ideal if you have difficult to drive speakers. Also using the amp that way (and these amps are cheap enough that it may be worth trying), the sound tends to be better as the amp only needs to drive one channel each, thus allowing more headroom. Still, seems to be a good solid little amp seems to get generally good reviews, especially for the price. Would be interesting to hear them on better speakers. If you were much closer to where I am, I would've lent you my KEF speakers to try, which are WAY WAY better than those crappy speakers you had there. Amazing these days what kind of audio setup you can get now with very little money. For less than $1,000, you could have a good turntable, a decent pre-amp, and a pretty good amp and speakers.

This channel is apparently for newbies and very budget minded people, I also have a much higher end system, but wouldn't rub it in this guy's nose. You do understand most audiophiles would look at your system like you look at his, yours ain't that high end.

You are not going to get the full 300 watts, with that power supply, I think you would need to upgrade to a 48V 10 AMP, Class D amps, the power output is all depended on the power supply.

If you believe you can buy 300 actual, usable, watts of power for $75 in a tiny box, chances are you may still believe in the tooth fairy. Perhaps there is a reason my $800 amp produces 80 watts x2 in a large box! I’ve seen a ton of these cheap Chinese amps in tiny boxes, and you see what you get. You have to really crank the volume just to drive a pair of $10 speakers.
