You must be a teenager. You act like this fear of losing guns never happened before. In the early 70's, I and all my conservative patriots knew that any day the government would take away our guns and that the price of ammo would go through the roof. So I bought a Thompson look-alike .45 ACP and began bullet casting. I also bought an SKS and 2000 rounds of ammo for it. And I began reloading waiting for the crunch but it never came. Eventually I ran low on funds and sold those two guns. I already had a .451 cap and ball, a .270, two 30-30's and several handguns. So don't think your generation is the first to get worried that the dems are trying to take over. In my day, it was fear of takeover by Russia.

The food prices and other commodities are going up in Western Europe and citizens are mad at their leaders for causing inflation. Their approval rates are falling fast. But we here, think that Biden is so stupid, he can't tie his shoes but yet many think he controls the American money and even the system in Europe.

Yesterday I watched gun reviewer, Ron Spomer, and he was talking about hunting rifles and said that ammo prices should go down in the fall because stored often put out sales to get hunters to buy ammo. So who do you believe?

I remember in the bad old days. I popped over to the Academy during lunch break to check if their shipment arrived.

That's the problem.I'm using all my cheap ammo that I got 5 years ago. And some of it you don't even find anymore And the money flow is not there anymore.😅

I've noticed that ammo prices have indeed gone down a bit. Right now I'm focusing more on getting my storage situation sorted out first. Once I get it done, then I can see how much more ammo I need to pick up.

Yea really. Wally World used to be $20 for federal 12/20 for that 100rnd value pack of shells. Now it’s $35 or so by me. 😮 all hunting stuff is 25-35$ box of 20 rem core

She says - "Nobody is buying ammo" Two reasons - most people already stocked up OR people do not have the money to buy ammo. The common rounds 9mm, 5.56 and 7.62 are cheaper, but NOT as cheap as 10 years ago as she said. Powder and primers are still high.

Sure, if it’s just go out and plink with. Not adequate for serious use or long term. It may be called “5.56” and be at 5.56 pressures but they skip applying sealant. They always cut the corners that keep their stuff on the plinking and sporting use side of the line.

Over in Orygun (Oregon) just got a case of PMC ON SALE for $479.00 for 1000 rounds of 62 grain, 5.56. FULL retail is $529.00 Just before the Humus attacks and end of year, Winchester was coming in at $399, for 55grain 5.56. Just keep buying till it gets to a dollar a round. Then sell it.

I have noticed price increases on some nato calibers since May this year. 9mm has gone up $20‐30 per thousand. 556 $50‐60 per thousand. I've also noticed the quality of American made ammo has headed south, as the bulk pack have become more common.

@Jason-ue9xz It's not just learning where you shop. It also depends on the manufacturer and type of projectile. There used to be quality differences between brands, and there often still is, but it's not to be taken for granted. Sometimes, you get what you pay for on both ends of the price spectrum... sometimes you don't. Anyone can get a 1000rds of 556 or 223 steel case bi-metal 55gr fmj for 430. Maybe even free shipping over 200... and it used to be cheaper. I've been in the firearms enthusiasts game since the late 60s. I may have picked up on a pointer or two along the way. There is also the trial and error of what shoots best in a particular firearm based on barrel twist ect... The cheapest isn't often the best for accuracy or dependability.

I have that identical rifle. Bought it as a pistol with 10.5” barrel and a separate 16” barrel. Put hand guards on each barrel. So it’s just like an AR but takes down and stores in a backpack.

It was at Academy sports 250 round count for 49.95. 5% discount with Academy Credit card so it was 47.50. I bought 12 boxes or 3000 rounds. I already have a ton of it but at that price I could not resist from buying! Sale was on for 4 days
