I got to use a few Amex lounges for the first time this weekend during a full day of traveling and I was very pleased. Even the crowded one was much quieter than the airport spaces, and the food was great! Definitely makes me feel better about that platinum yearly fee, I would have spent a LOT on food that day if I had to resort to the vendors and restaurants.

Last month while traveling back from Las Vegas, the Centurion Lounge was "Almost Full" but had no line, and they let me in 3.5Hrs before my flight without any mention of the 3Hrs. My point is to be conscious of the "3Hrs prior to departure" but if they aren't too busy they may let you in even earlier. I've been there on a really busy day and it was 1 in 1 out like a nightclub, I'm sure they were strict that day.

If it’s a layover, I think you don’t have that 3 hour time frame rule. For example, on a 5-hour layover you don’t have to wait 2 hours for it to be 3 hours before your flight.

It cannot. The $200 Airline Fee Credit is only for incidental purchases on the airline you selected for the year. This can include day passes to that airline's lounge (if it has one), but it does not include guests to the Centurion Lounge.

Great explanation. As a frequent traveler, I use all of the lounges. AMEX is really a victim of their own success. The lounges are overcrowded as everyone is getting an AMEX platinum.

I WISH the AX lounges I visited had open seats like this video shows, the ones I visit are packed and it takes 30 mins to get in. Philly, Madrid and Prague were all zoos. In each case I went to the airline lounges which were much less crowded

This is the first lounge I've been to with QR code food ordering, so I cannot comment for other lounges. The delivery at The Club @ LAS was very quick & I sensed no expectation of a tip from the staff member.

I actually had a connection through CLT and got to go to The Centurion Lounge at CLT. It was almost at capacity. I managed to get some pancakes and sausage before my connection.

@@MarkReese Unfortunately my connection on Monday was on an Embraer EJ145 and over the wing. We hit turbulence. I learned for yesterdays return trip. Eat light and unfortunately despite being a small airport with two American Eagle flights a day (from the Airport of my destination) ATC delayed us on the plane for 20 minutes. Only Plane at the Taxiway. Got to CLT but didn't have time for the lounge on the return leg. Went from D Gates to B Gates with 10 minutes to spare. Then decided food or Group 1 boarding. Got food at home airport afterwards before collecting bag. Mixed Nuts and Ginger Ale can only feed you for so long.

Priority pass ! Gives you access to a minute suite, and boy!!!! I used that one to the T 😉 in the Miami Fort Lauderdale airport! Definitely recommend 🤣

But drink selection was great, I had some champagne, few glasses of Cabernet, latte, 5 - 6 fountain tea and some oatmeal cookies, I though I had loaded up, lol.

1. It's the *Business* Gold Card. 2. I've gotten multiple Business Gold Card bonuses before. 3. You can get another bonus on the same Amex card if the terms do not have 'lifetime language.' That is, the terms cannot say anything similar to, _"You may not be eligible to receive a welcome offer if you have or have had this Card or previous versions of this Card."_ ^ Those 'no-lifetime-language' offers are targeted (i.e., you won't find them directly on the Amex website).

Great video sir! Just a credit note. I was putting everything on my Amex gold to complete the welcome offer. My Experian score fell 12 points for not using enough of my available credit 😮

Although the flight may not be marketed by Delta, it's operated by Delta, so my understanding is access should still be granted. However, I cannot guarantee this. Consider asking Amex directly.

No, there's no identifier to get back in. I just tell the front desk I'll be back after using the restroom. I've gone it on probably 7+ visits now with no issue.

Mark, will you say that I have an obsession with Airport Lounges? I have access to almost all US Airports Lounges with my Amex Platinum, C1 Venture X, Chase United Club card, Citi AAdvantage Executive Card. Yes / no. Here's the explanation... 1. All rewards from all Amex cards are pooled together by reward type. 2. This means that all cards earning Membership Rewards points will have their balances pooled together. All cards earning Hilton points will be pooled together. All cards earning Delta SkyMiles will be pooled together. Etc. 3. This holds true for personal cards & business cards provided that you added / activated them to the same Amex login. (Example: Business Platinum Card + Personal Green Card = same point balance) 4. I'm not sure if this is true for Amex cash back cards (e.g. if you have the Amex Blue Cash Everyday and the Amex Blue Cash Preferred, I'm not sure if those balances will be combined).

I currently have the AMEX platinum card and the Marriott Bonvoy boundless card. I’m waiting to book the trip until I earn my five free night certificate on the Marriott boundless card, my question is in reference to booking the trip. It's my understanding that the following hold true... 1. You cannot share / move your Amex points directly to someone else's Amex account. 2. You cannot transfer your Amex points directly to someone else's frequent flyer or hotel loyalty program. 3. You CAN transfer your Amex points to someone else's frequent flyer or hotel loyalty program IF they're an authorized user on your Amex card account, and IF they've been an AU for 90+ days.

I take sponsorships from MaxRewards because I (a) Am an active user of it myself, (b) Like their product, (c) Appreciate the convenience it brings to me, especially in terms of tracking when bills are due as I don't use autopay, and (d) It's the only rewards app that I'm aware of that pulls rewards data from different issuers. All of those things have brought me enough value to where I feel comfortable promoting their app to others. They've got a 100% free version as well as a paid version, as well as the choice to not use it at all 👍 The months-long issue with Chase was a major pain point, and I experienced it, too. Fortunately, the fix was released and I & many others have been able to successfully sync for the past few weeks. Their computer systems track it. This is true of practically every big bank. You can download a yearly report with all your expenses added up on any card you like. In this case, there's even a spend tracker in the Amex online dashboard you can view at any time.

How does the lounge know? Do they ask you to open up the dashboard? That’s what I meant.

@@rickc.3552 - Ah got it. While I'm not entirely sure, my best guess is when they swipe your Platinum Card / digital pass upon entry, they'd see your guest privileges on their computer screen.

Using my current cards & letting time go by.

Maybe is just me. Unless you're flying to conduct business, most people don't fly alone. A vacation is more enjoyable, when you're sharing it with someone else. Paying $700 for card, and can't even bring one guess without paying. Mark as usual content

I hear you. The overcrowding has become a real issue though, and it needs to be solved. It's not worth bringing guests into a lounge if the lounge is always packed full. Not a good experience.

Can you get away with using the platinum card for yourself, and then the eligibility code for your guest? That way you avoid guest fees

I believe you have to swipe your card to access the lounge, rather than just showing it to the desk. Their system would then be able to see that you’ve already used an access code on the account for that lounge that day. I also suspect that you can only generate a free code for persons named as the primary or authorized users, and they compare the name on the code to the boarding pass. And I suspect they also compare the name on the card to the name on the boarding pass when you try to enter.

Used once flying from jfk to Amsterdam. They made it hard to get in and challenged us from asking for individual platinum cards to reviewing the boarding passes in a confrontational manner - as if we didn’t belong. Once inside ? Nothing special. Can’t understand the hype.

Bummer that the experience wasn't great.

Delta is the worst. They don’t even let their platinum frequent flyers access the lounge on international flight. This why I jumped to United as my primary choice. Outside of the LA lounge the rest of their lounges are 😒

@@MarkReese yeah, they become too arrogant with the rules. Being a platinum elite on Delta is pretty worthless these days. And they keep raising the spend required to achieve the status.

It said "waffer" toping instead of "wafer". Waffer rhymes with staffer. Wafer rhymes with safer.

I don’t mind sitting with the common man in the terminals. I take comfort in knowing others stay strong and out of the game

Same here. Lounges are great when they're convenient, but when they're not, I've found myself using the terminal facilities 👍

@@MarkReese shower in the sink of a terminal bathroom uses the same water as a centurion lounge shower.

Centurion lounge is a joke. Everyone with a 620 Fico has a Plat card. Especially the no spend no fee pikers.
