The "streaker" at the end was Alistair Clarkson who was the Hawthorn coach at the time. The game was played in Canberra which can get pretty cold in winter. During training for the game, Clarkson ran around shirtless to demonstrate to his payers that they should embrace the conditions and enjoy it. On game day, it was freezing cold and started snowing. That may not seem like a big deal to you guys, but that was the first time in VFL/AFL history (which spans >160 years) that it snowed during a game. You can tell from the reactions of the Hawthorn players (the ones in brown and gold stripes) that they took their coach's advice and relished the conditions and ended up dominating the game. This video was a few years old. The AFL has just released one about the funny moments in the 2023 season: kzread.info/dash/bejne/eGyWuLSFaMixebw.html Maybe worth a reaction video?

As far as streakers go at major Australian team sporting events the stadium crowd might see them doing the streak but the TV cameras almost always ignore them and do not broadcast or comment on such incidents. This robs the streakers of any publicity and doesn't encourage anyone else to do likewise. The fines imposed by the courts for streaking are usually pretty severe, and the offenders are usually given life bans from attending that sports stadium again along with most other stadiums and probably banned from most sporting clubs' premises or facilities.

I went to a footy game earlier this year where there was a streaker. He ran across the whole field, with the security guards chasing him. It was so funny because a few of them fell over because they were so unfit and the kid jumped over the barrier and escaped into the crowd (idk if he ever got caught or not). I'm not quite sure how common streakers are in the AFL, but the fine for doing it is very high and this was the first one I'd seen/heard of in a while.

Helen D’Amico (who coincidentally was American born) streaking in the 1982 Carlton Vs Richmond Grand Final is probably a famous one. I was only 4.5 years old and was totally upset that I’d been left at home that year. My first Grand Final I got to go too was 1987 Carlton Vs Hawthorn. Lucky for us it was another winning one.

@@NoName-ds5uq There's just something about those older games. You just never get sick of them. Some may argue as fans, that were luckier than most. I remember the 1995 season like it was yesterday. Still in High school in South Gippsland, we'd drive the 2 odd hours into the City every weekend. I was really lucky that one of my best school mates Nanna, happened to be one of the maddest Blues fans around. Didn't hurt my mates Nanna's other daughter, also happened to be the local Sgt. in our small town. My parents knew I was in good hands. We were still in the cheer squad back then. When Braddles came off the wing to kick that opener, my mate and I flew up with our 'Bradley Brilliance' banner quick as you like. Unlike other games for some reason, maybe youthful optimism? I'm not sure why exactly, but for me that day the end result was never in doubt. It's been a long 28/29 years. Sad to see JSOS go down. I've had 3 knee recos myself. Nasty business. The battle is more in the mind than in the body. I wish him the best. And hope this year, will continue to be better! Hope I've not bored you half to death 😅

@@linda-louiseanthony9802 those two back to back losses in 1995 were a shocker but to then come back to annihilate the Hawks showed how the rest of the season would play out!🤣 Great stories, thanks, for sharing! That's a very cynical attitude to have mate. With a growing population, of course we need more rules. Without the rule of law, you have nothing but anarchy and kaos. Bottom line is, we don't have any rules here that are out there, or totally invasive. The majority of our laws are there because people make bad decisions and choices - which is all good and well if no accidents occur, but when they do, it costs the tax payers billions of dollars to care for them. Most of the time, laws are put in place for the good of the community as a whole, and not the individual - which is the way it should be. As if this country needs the idiots to have free reign, so everyone else can pay for it. I've traveled the world, and can happily say that we have it pretty damn good here, compared to many other countries. We have NOTHING to complain about mate
