I really liked your opinion about the US geography! I mean, it's true... For example, even if I'm canadian, I sometimes still have to look at the map to make sure where the provinces are on the West side. Not always easy to remember all that from classes we've had, either for the US or Europe. And the US have a lot of states so it's not surprising. For the books, well, I would say read at night, maybe just before going to bed. It helps to fall asleep after since you are not in front of screens. 🙋🏼‍♀️ As always, great video! I used to read before bed but these days i just crash hahah When things settle again, I will try to block some time at the end of the day :)

Je suis de Belgique ! Et qd je suis à l'étranger je précise tjs 'I am from Belgium, small country next to France and Germany'. Je comprends tout à fait et comme tu dis, ici tt le monde ne saurait pas situer ts les états des us😊

Je pense que la question de la géographie est malheureusement vraie. En tout cas, la plupart des personnes plus âgées (40-50 ans) connaissaient la Belgique, les autres jeunes qui connaissaient était soit à l'université, soit ils avaient vécu en Europe à un moment donné. Mais on va pas se mentir, j'ai rencontré un paquet d'américains à qui j'ai du expliquer où elle se situait ! Le pire c'est quand mon copain se promenait dans le quartier un jour et là il rencontre un gars et ils commencent à discuter. Quand il lui a demandé d'où il venait et mon copain a répondu Belgique, le gars a répondu : "In which state is it ?" 😂 A force j'étais habituée à devoir situer. A tel point qu'une fois, on était dans un bar, je rencontre une fille qui me demande d'où je viens mais avec la musique et étant donné qu'elle était un peu éméchée, j'ai décidé de dire que je venais d'Europe pour faciliter les choses. Résultat elle a pas compris et elle m'a redemandé plusieurs fois d'où je venais. Elle a fini par demander à mon copain, qui lui a répondu "Belgium", et là :"aaaaah". Si j'avais su, je lui aurais dit plus tôt hahaha Les américains sont très centrés sur leur propre pays je trouve (l'éducation scolaire y est pour quelque chose aussi), c'est pour ça qu'ils ont une moins bonne connaissance des autres pays et de leurs histoires. L'un de mes voisins connaissait la Belgique mais il pensait qu'on y parlait anglais. Du coup quand on lui a appris plus tard que ça n'était pas le cas, il a mieux compris pourquoi nous n'avions pas le même accent en anglais ^^

@Alex Winterborn it's surely depends on each people's education of course, that's what I said. And yes I know where there are American cemetery in Belgium and why there are there 😉 I didn't mean that every single American should know about Belgium and stuff but at least that it is in Europe. I don't know every country of our world but if you name one of them I should be able to tell you in which continent it is most of the time (and I'm very bad at geography, trust me 😂). I know that it's a small country but I have to admit that a wasn't prepared to that and I wasn't in a small city, I was in a big city of Florida. I never said that small countries should be relevant for everyone but geography of the world is something you generally learned at school (not in college, in primary school and high school).

Passionnée d'anglais, un an en immersion dans l'Idaho (zéro place pour le français là bas) et maintenant je vis en Irlande avec un Canadien, surement un mix! Je suis aussi musicienne/chanteuse donc il doit surement y avoir une histoire d'oreille mais là je ne saurais pas te confirmer hahah
