I like the Bhutan flag personally. For the record, many Welsh immigrated to Argentina in the post-independence years Argentina's history. They migrated there to preserve their own language and culture, which was being eroded in Britain. Lookup "Patagonian Welsh".

The Welsh speaking part of Argentina is called Y Wladfa. It dates back to the 19th century when the Welsh language and Welsh culture were being oppressed by England (children would literally get beaten by teachers at school if they were caught speaking Welsh). So a group of Welsh people got permission from the Argentinian Government to settle in Patagonia and they would be free to speak Welsh there.

A lot of us Welsh people do not want to soil our dragon by putting it on the Union flag. As for Argentina speaking the Welsh language I believe it is because of the Welsh people who left Wales to start a new life back during early times of colonization and they brought their language with them.

Many people emigrated from Wales (especially North Wales) to Patagonia in Argentina to escape religious and ethnic tensions in Wales. You can still find Welsh speakers in Patagonia, the common Welsh surnames of Jones, Griffiths, Williams, Hughes and Roberts still exist over there. Some years a few Patagonians come back to Wales for the Eisteddfodiau. An Eisteddfod (eistedd is Welsh for sit) is a cultural event celebrating the music and poetry of Wales. There are National, youth (Urdd) and International ones annually and of course held in the Welsh language.

In this context, British refers to the celtic Britons, not the same as the modern day British citizens. Anglo-Saxons are the predecessors of the English {at least culturally, most English today are descendants mostly of Anglicized britons from a genealogical/genetic standpoint}. Little known fact: Apart from Wales and Bhutan, there’s a third country that has a dragon on its flag, though it’s easy to miss. It’s Malta - the Maltese flag is just a vertical white and red flag, but in World War 2 the island was awarded the George Cross for its heroism in withstanding the German and Italian blockade, so they put the image of the George Cross medal in the top left of the flag, and in the middle of the cross is depicted the story of St George killing the dragon….

The word "Welsh" is a derivative of an Anglo-Saxon word that means "foreigner" and is from the same root as "Gaul", the name for the Celtic tribes and the land where they lived in Roman times, what is now France. The W is replaced by a G in many English words. For example, Guillaume (French, pronounced gee-yome, with a hard "g" not a soft "j" sound) = William in English. The Welsh call themselves Cymru (pronounced Cumree)- derived from an old Celtic word meaning fellow-countrymen.

Proud Welshman and thank you for acknowleding how great our flag is :). You ask in the video if we learn about Henry Tudor and the answer is yes. Henry Tudor goes on to be King Henry VII father of King Henry VIII (the man famous for having 6 wives) and father of Elizabeth I. Henry Tudor became King after winning the War of the Roses which saw the House of Lancaster and House of Tudor pitted against the House of York and as mentioned in the video the dragon was the flag for Henry Tudor. If this all sounds familiar then consider replacing the House of Tudor with and House of York with "The Lannisters" and "The Starks"... and of course dragons and you see where GRRM got his ideas from ;)

The reason why Argentina has a Welsh community in Patagonia, Welsh people the immigrated there in 1865. Welsh migrated there to protect our Native culture and language, as it was being threatened here in Wales. Now though in Welsh schools it's mandatory to learn, as we are trying to increase the amount of Welsh speakers to keep our native language alive.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

So the video glossed over that the main reason why Wales isn't represented on the Union Flag is because Wales had already been annexed into the Kingdom of England all the way back in 1283. The first union flag wouldn't be designed until centuries later, and today the flag is meant to symbolise the uniting of kingdoms - namely England (of which Wales was also a part), Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Officially to this day, Wales is still on paper a Principality, and a part of the Kingdom of England. This is all very technical though, and very few today would try to deny Wales the status of a country in its own right - part of a wider union, but distinct in its own right, and bringing dragons.

Annexed to England with laws of Wales act in the 16th century. Not 1280s, Wales was free of English occupation from 1400 to 1536. And was joined to the kingdom of England in peace time, not through conquest. Wales was never conquered by England, just a myth told over and over again.

A good flag can be copied by small children. If it tells a good story about the country too - even better. Take the (not so) new South African flag: lots of shapes and colours, interesting to a little child who can hold a creyon, and at the same time telling the story of being of many shapes and colours and making up one nation.

Welsh people are not on the same side as British people. Welsh people are Britons, Anglo Saxons are British. There’s a huge difference.

the full Welsh flag should be placed in a box on a top corner of the British flag as it does not represent all 4 British countries, hence as a Welsh man I don't see the British flag as having an respect for my country. I see myself as being Welsh only not British.

So I said, 'I don't believe in Santa!, 'I don't believe in Santa!'I don't believe in Santa!'I don't believe in Santa! and by the way, Santa is an anagram of Satan!
