Oh my god I nearly fell off my chair something going down in price in the bike industry when everything is going up☝️ what a pleasant surprise.

On order. I have been a fan of American Classic for well over a decade when I built my first 29er and again when I built my second one. I lived in Florida at the time, and interfaced with the company and reps directly multiple times, and never a bad experience with the brand or products. Really sad to see them leave the market, but really excited that they're back! Have a set Aggregates and Kimberlites coming in 50c. It seems like 46-51c tires are casting companies do not see a market to produce, but exactly what I've been looking for, hopefully they work out!! Thank you AMClassic!

the Udden tires they have seem very similar in form factor and tread to the Giant Crosscut Gravel-1 tires I swear by. I'll have to give them a shot - a nice tight grippy tread pattern that rolls well on pavement but is great on hard pack dirt, light gravel and other mixed surfaces has always suited me well. So the Udden might be for me. thanks for the great look at them !

Looking forward to how the Krumbeins handle the rougher adelaide trails. Out of interest i checked US Amazon and it appears you can purchase and ship to Oz. $145AU shipped for 2 tyres. I'm about 6 months away from needing some so hurry up and review James! :)

Oof that's still a pretty cheap price for a set! Well there ya go, it seems they'll ship beyond the States if you're willing to throw some money at them

  • @markreams3192

The price is understandable. There’s no distributor or bricks and mortar store involved. Manufacturer to Amazon. It cuts off a couple levels of profit takers. The other school of thought is that other tire manufacturers are making a healthy mark up on their tires.

That's a tiny bit cheaper than the Hutchinson Touaregs I'm riding currently. I'm in Europe though. No idea what Hutchinson tires cost in the rest of the world. I'd love to try those Krumbeins out for fall and winter riding here in Denmark. The tread pattern looks really good.

Hutchinson Touareg’s are $70 each for 700x40c tan walls at my local bike shop in northern New York. It’s a bike shop that very aggressively prices all their items so I believe that would be a fair price to find them elsewhere in the states. That being said, I just ordered the American classic wentworths because I got two for the price of 1 Touareg.

Almost ordered the Torchbearer to try against my Gravelking Slicks, but they are 25% heavier. That's too bad. I'll be picking up a set of Aggregates for my other wheelset to see how they are though. The whole line up, the company, the pricing, it looks promising!!! Can't wait to hear your reviews!

It seems American Classic has gone hard on puncture protection making them a bit heavier. It's not really something that's bothered me when riding, especially because I swapped to the Krumbeins from Vittoria Mezcals with tyre liners. Not that was heavy! Still tons of fun though 🤙

I'm from europe and can't buy them but you can get alot tire brands very cheap here. Panaracer and Continental Terra Speed for around 35€ for example and they are very good. None Tubeless tires are much more cheap. Tires must be very expensive in the US if 30 - 35$ is super cheap....

@@JustRideAdelaide it's a shame they are so expensive here in Aus. Sadly, I end up buying from UK or Germany for $60aud each or about 140 a pair including the ridiculous shipping prices. The local wholesaler here must be putting on a massive mark up.

Cutting out the middle man (bike shops) has been happening for years. Ordering online is here to stay. Sadly, most bike shops have sold their soul to the big brands and mostly stock that brands gear. It's almost boring walking into a bike shop now.
