    In the UK we have jet from Whitby which comes from the Araucaria Araucana tree, which I think also supplied the amber in the Baltic ?. In 2014 I cycled to Copenhagen and got some amber which I carved. I also love rocks, geology and making things too. I like your channel.

    Scientists thinks that baltic amber is most likely from mixed species of pine trees and not one specific tree so it might as well be part of the trees that produced baltic amber:), thanks and welcome!:)

  • @NicholasKonradsen

    @NicholasKonradsen

    the thing about jet being from monkey puzzle has been proven untrue. it's actually from various species, none of which are related to monkey puzzle. If you look hard enough you can actually find amber all along the yorkshire coast, some on the lincolnshire coast and the most is on the norfolk and suffolk coast

    I'm new to your channel, and I'm not trying to sound negative, I enjoy your videos, but I see a lot of plastic bottles and cans in the debris, but I never see anyone discard any of it. You should promote that in your videos. When you saved the butterfly you placed it next to a bottle cap. The earth gives us amber, let's take away some debris for our thanks. Cheers.

    Depends on quality:) layered amber is cheapest But it might contain inclusions which can be really expensive, javelery quality amber is quite expensive 1.6-3.0+ $ per gram depending on color and other factors:)
