I’ve got a Lifetime Tamarack Pro that I really like aside from crappy tracking and getting swirled all around whenever I stop paddling. I just watched you accomplish one of my reoccurring thoughts for it with the same rudder. It’s either going to be a version of what you just did versus another thought to create a removable arm that extends back a couple feet set up with the same cheap rudder as an adjustable skeg for killer tracking 🤔 Projects and problem solving is fun, great vid 👍

Way to go! I briefly tried a skeg before doing this video but the rudder feels way more comfortable to me.

Why are you modifying such a cheap kayak? That rudder is barely going to steer the kayak with so little movement. Your turning radius must be about 20 meters
