If the United Stated would stop allowing the post office allowing China to ship to the USA for practically nothing this crap would stop. US citizens are getting screwed by USPS. An item that will cost me $9 to ship from Florida to California would cost a company in China less than $1 to ship from China to anywhere in the US. Our postage rates keep going up to help pay for shipping from China. Everything American and every reseller should be outraged.

I agree with your comment and always think if America hit China with the high shipping fees that we pay and created manufacturing here. This would stop this BS and make America manufacturing a comeback. This should be a priority for America.

I believe that China is still considered a "developing country" so they are given breaks from the US Gov.. Trump said that he was going to take them off this "developing country list" but it didn't happen.

You get what you pay for. I have purchased from TEMU a couple of times. The items are extremely low quality on most items. They also haven't passed the US regulations for safety. Be careful when buying from these sites!

Ugh. I just wish would could have high-quality, made in America items again that last. Sick of all the plastic crap.

I feel guilty but when it’s exact same product on Teemu as Amazon and Temu is 1/3 of fourth or 1/10 of Amazons price… you can’t help it …. I ordered covers for my air conditioner outside. I ordered light clips to hold up our outside lighting for a 10th of the price, iPhone covers, craft items…. and in today’s world with everything being so expensive, I don’t mind waiting a minute or two extra. There’s also a part of me that feels Amazon needs to reign it in a bit….

Temu, Shein, AliExpress, Etc... Will Just Lower Their Prices Even Further To Compete With Amazon; It Will Be A Race To The Bottom. Its A Good Thing For Struggling Consumers.

I admit -- I buy from Temu, but mainly office supplies like paper and tape. But I can get the same things from the Dollar Tree for half the cost, esp. tape and post it notes. If the Dollar TREE would ship, they would RULE the low-price market....just IMO.

I've bought from Temu for over a year now and I don't find the quality of items low value or less than quality. But I have found them cheaper. I have bought from Amazon the exact same item from Temu as well, with the Amazon item being higher. Our products in the US have been made in China for years, even your large manufacturers have their products made there. Amazon knows Temu and the other site are working, that's why the new store. Plus as I see it, we live in the US and we are able to have choice. God Bless America. TFS * L

So what I wonder is; how would this affect sellers on eBay? Could we possibly benefit from it as people will see Amazon as "lower"? It a race to the bottom for all three of them and we as sellers on other platforms can use this as an opportunity to seller better quality items with a faster shipping time. Just try to see the positive possibilities.

While cheaper items might be nice for consumers I worry about resellers being effected negatively not being able to compete! We will definitely need to keep thrift and liquidation COGs low! Edited to add: I'm basically anti-amazon so this doesn't help either 😂

Lindey it's already that way. Sellers aren't competing against each other but against Temu and Shein. That's why I'm trying to NOT sell clothing. And the consumer doesn't care. THEY know the clothes won't last a long time and is made is cheap quality. But here is what the younger gen does: They buy from Shein, Forever 21, and they TRADE to Plato's and Buffalo Exchange. They trade back and forth...they get a new outfit every month. They wear the jeans for a month, take them to Plato's and trade for another pair of jeans. The customer traffic in those BST stores is tremendous. Luxury and high quality brand names is the only way to go. There's still a market and customer base that prefers a Kate Spade purse or dress compared to a Shein purse or dress.

I do buy shipping supplies from Temu but I wouldn't dream of sourcing from either Temu or Shein as I refuse to sell garbage to my customers. Shipping materials, especially very small boxes and bubble envelopes for super small items, are fine but, again, buying crap for resale is definitely not my thing. I'm not a volume seller so I am very careful to choose high quality items for my ebay store (and you absolutely will not find them on either of the sites you mentioned).

I’ve never purchased from Temu and SHEIN. My daughter and granddaughter do because it’s cheaper. I refuse to purchase from those stores because China gets a huge discount on shipping and we pay for it. I live in Florida and shipping is so expensive to the east coast. I think as Americans we need to make China fees more and make it a priority.

Agree. 100% and it’s because of sites like these that my reselling days are almost over. I can’t compete with those prices and I refuse to sell junk because I stand behind what I sell.

I shop both Amazon and Temu. I LOVE Temu but I use Amazon to purchase mainly local products and also for the prime benefits. With that said, I saw an item on Amazon for $29.99 that was on Temu for $4.99. No joke. The SAME (and yes), EXACT item! I just had to wait a few days for it to be delivered. People better quit making jokes about Temu with the “what I ordered vs what I got” and do serious research when shopping. I am still crossing my fingers with all the rumors about information theft etc., but so far I have had no issues. Thanks for all your great videos. Have a great weekend.

I buy from Temu quite a bit. The quality is ok, but the good thing is if you don’t like your item., they’ll give you a refund and you don’t even have to return the item,@ least for smaller items. Credits to acct are easy.

AMZ won't destroy Temu and Shein. The same manufacturers selling to Temu & Shein will sell to AMZ. They will be competing against themselves. And AMZ will have to offer the same conditions as Temu which is -- a) you MUST buy at least $15 worth to get FREE shipping. Temu won't ship out if you order less than $15. I don't think AMZ would match that -- unless you are a PRIME member. b) TEMU offers ONE free return. If you return more than one item you have to pay the shipping; and who wants to ship to China??? I don't think AMZ can match the aggressive campaign that those two have going on. I order from TEMU a lot, esp. office supplies. I've never ordered from Shein -- but I see a LOT of SHEIN stuff in the thrift stores. A LOT. Funny story: I went to Plato's Closet a while back to consign and most of all they had on the racks was Shein and Forever 21. Plato's appeals to the teeny boppers and those are the clothes they buy. And the prices were the same as what you pay on Shein.

Quality is everything to me and buying cheap is never great quality. I try to stay away from China goods as much as possible. My question is why doesn’t the USA increase China’s importing fees and rebuild America manufacturing. This country is in need of manufacturing here.

In the Philippines you can buy super cheap stuff super good prices that last for using it one or two times but that's what these people expect

I was thinking, with the increasing trade war, that the next elected government would try to prevent the 'discounted' shipping rates for foreigners. With Amazon joining the Temu and Shein model, they may not want to hurt an American company as large as Amazon....so maybe not. With lower prices Amazon profits on sales should drop.

I think Amazon should lower thier fees dramatically for Sellers so that sellers can purchase more items to send in FBA to fill them warehouses.

Amazon have to try to compete, but if you cant beat them then go straight the source yourself. amazon are getting in before its too late

We buy often from Ali Express and Temu. Like you said, a lot of items we use today are all made in China, so why not just go to the source instead of dealing with mark ups from places buying it there in our country. BIG $$ difference for sure. Plus with Ali Express, if you do your home work, there are many places that sell quality products. With Temu, always check reviews before ordering what you want, that helps and I only order thru my laptop (not mobile phone app), they never hound me as they do with the apps. Lastly, if its cheap, you can't complain, you get what you paid for. So does this mean that Amazon is going to get rid of all the Chinese sellers and put them onto the new platform?? Amazon is loaded with chinese sellers, so how would it be different? Just cheap priced products perhaps on the new platform? I love that you keep us informed on the daily.

Well, you know Amazon has to stay on top (kinda like that Tesla guy). I know so many people are against Temu because they said Temu (China) is spying on us or whatever. Even my sister deleted Temu, But now she has recently ordered some things from Shein LOL! What about Ali Express? Same. My son has a couple of friends that still order from there to use for their handmade business. I still haven't ordered from any of them but I am considering it for a few things, since I started doing crafts. It's better to practice on cheap stuff and screw up than to buy the good quality expensive stuff and mess those up. I guess everything has its place. Happy 4th! 🎆

True. In my opinion, for business, it's better to buy cheaper stuffs, but for personal use buy more expensive stuffs.
