I just started but I’m really trying to do everything by the book. I am not getting anything but a trickle of one to two items a day. I would appreciate an audit if you have the time. 🙏🏽
Great encouragement video for people who need to hear this.
I first started selling on Depop in 2014 (around the time it was opened up to the US) and I sold on there for awhile, then, I just used eBay for a while. During the 2014 period, I was selling, primarily on Instagram via flash sales and repeat customers (before the market place integration and facebook ruined that app, permanently). I never did large sales on Depop. Which is partially my own fault and partially the fault of the app (its not intuitively designed and leaves a bit to be desired). Depop for me is weird... I browse the app, often, to check the market, see what might be trending, see some of the prices people "think" things are worth, etc, and one thing I've noticed is there are tons of profiles with hundreds or thousands of items, sitting, unsold and there are also thousands of profiles with less than 10 items. There are also profiles with thousands and thousands of sales... overall, I'm not sure the over all sales numbers are "good" on Depop for anyone. More sellers than buyers, methinks. This new, no sales fees, is alright but its not really anything groundbreaking...they are just restructuring their fees, all around, and you will still be charged this new, market fee. So it's not entirely, free of fees, just a restructuring of the fees. Instead of taking all the money from me, they will now take a little from me and a little more from the buyer. Trust me, depop isn't giving up money or anything - that's just PR BS, we want you to make more money and want reselling to be cyclical, is a bunch of PR nonsense.
Great advice Rockstar! Thank you so very much.
Goodwill shipping has gone insane. I had a little over $200 of merchandise on my cart. Shipping alone was an insane $460. Needless to sayi didn't purchase anything
Unfortunately may resellers get excited when they see high prices when they comp and price on the high side. You will occasionally sell items at those high range comps but if you want fast turn over you have to start at mid range price. You want to know how i know Im over priced? My store is growing. When I hits 1700 items then I know I need to lower prices using Markdown Manager or Increase my coupon percentage off.
Mental reason we hold on to stuff is we don’t want to admit to ourselves it was a bad buy.😂 Thanks Casey
i think we all make bad buys, i view it as if it is only 10 percent of the time iam ok with that. Sometimes checking the sell through rate seems to depends on keywords we type in as well that was one gf my mistakes
I could explain actual throttling theory (programmatically, because I am a programmer) but I might save that for when I make my own videos.. someday...ok never. I am an introvert.. lol but... and there always is one.. I see your advice play out all the time. I am such a nostalgic person and when I started selling some 23 years ago now, all of those things were important (and to my generation). I am just learning to let go of the notion that there isn't as many of those anymore, and new interest drives better sales.
So I had a $400 day Wednesday and $15 on Thursday… but it’s my prices?
i like how you mimic her voice like she's a curmudgeonly witch because that is probably exactly what she sounds like
Yard boy ??? … That sounds uncomfortable
Wow Casey Amazing Video! Thank you 😊
My husband is sitting here with me watching this, and is repeating what you said to me LOL
hello and thanks for your content.I am going abroad for two weeks, would you suggest I end all listings ( 2oo items ) or delay the delivery? Thank you
@@sdvlt 14 day handling. In my opinion
@@RockstarFlipper thank you
I have to audit my inventory and get more sales... once we move we will glue our butts to the chair and list list list! 😅😊 I had 6 20' sea containers and liquidated 5 of them last year! I am working on my 4 car garage now and liquidating inventory and listing cool items that I know sell online! It's like a treasure hunt, but in my garage lol 😅😊😂! Have a great weekend 😀! Great video 📹! Joe Bee 🐝 from 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦 Canada!
Great video. I buy my items at very low cost. I have a church resale shop that I go to ...all clothes are $1. so I can offer low prices on ebay which works for me. then again I am a 62 year old widow that supplements social security with my ebay sales and just having a lot of fun making extra money.
thanks Rock Star Flipper 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Anytime
I'm a new seller and i sell one item they ask me to give my credit card to verify with 300us, to receive my payments.... It's that truth or scam😢😢😢
What exactly is best offer? I've heard several explanations lately
Buyers can make you offers on an item
Great advice. As an up and coming reseller, I struggle with this myself.
Its a tough thing but its the right way to go
There is more to consider when pricing an item. Condition. In my current category, there is a wide disparity between high and low. The same item can have a range between $25 up to $100. Buyer beware. The price can really be too good to be true. Carefully read descriptions and see pictures. My items are usually in very good condition and are tested if applicable. This allows me to fall into the higher price range, plus shipping ($20-$30) I maintain a modest inventory of around 500 items. Sales volume is no problem. Almost $200k last year. It can be challenging, at times, to replace sold items fast enough. I moved away from clothing a few years ago. I felt like a hampster on the wheel, churning out so many listings to replace the 400-500 solds each month. If your service was available back then, I probably would have jumped on board.
For sure everything matters like condiiton and model etc
Go to active listings and then filter to most watchers. Take the top 20 listings with the most watchers then revise and drop the price on those listings by 5%. ebay will automatically notify those watchers of the price drop on those listings. I get sales all the time doing this.
Thanks for the great advice!
You got it!! Thanks for watching
I think a lot of sellers are over paying for inventory..
100% it happens
Great video Casey!
Anytime thank you!
I will be interested. I love your video.i want you to evaluate my store. The price is perfect I will email love the idea.thanks kg.
Could not agree more, I price just below the comps. A bird in the hand is better than a bird in the bush. lol
YES!!! especially if takes months and months
I'm interested. Ill email you.
Also, if it’s clothing the longer you have it the more likely it will go out of style before you sell it.
Thats true
Those are honestly amazing prices for your consulting time and effort. I may take you up on that. Thanks!
Thanks a ton!! Feel free to email anytime [email protected]
@@RockstarFlipper Already did! I'm Jamie. Thanks again!

Your videos have inspired me to do a thorough inventory on my store. I am going through everything and making sure it's worth selling and adjusting prices. It's quite the job but needs to be done. I'm worried that spending all of my time on this could hurt my sales because I'm not posting new inventory at this time. Thoughts?
Do a few each day, batch of 10 or 20 and list every day... this will keep your sales coming in! Have a great weekend 😀! Joe Bee 🐝!
AWESOME NEWS!! good luck with the audit
@lqdinfo6200 thank you so much!
100% sometimes it's just the price.
More times than not
So you're saying that 70% of the time, it's 100% of the reason? 😅
My Email is [email protected]
What if you’re doing everything by the book and follow all of the best advice, but you just don’t get the views ? Granted , I’m in a niche category, but the majority are top name brands, with competitive prices, multiple photos , etc . Then what?
This quite honestly is one of the best videos you’ve ever done! I started doing this myself and I’m seeing great results!
you are so wrong! you have no clue fortress is buying red lobster. come back is now
I tried to work with a thrift store on my wanted items but all they did was go to ebay search and start either marking everything up or the workers would pull the items and take them for themselves. Maybe telling them what you're looking for can backfire too. Weigh the options carefully!
@@dirtisbetterthandiamonds I’m sure that can happen I’ve had good luck with mom and pops
Now that I’ve moved up to bulk, my sourcing trips have just about ended. Which is fantastic-freaking-TASTIC because I was so tired of running around and wasting time/money/effort.
Leave the house and get to a thrift store ya lazy bum!!!! LMAO
No adjustments. Its a scam...🎉😅😅😢
Now that was funny. The intro from KZread to your video was an ad for Etsy.
I don’t see the link you said is below for the wholesale liquidator
liquidationlots4less-gmail-com.myshopify.com/collections/lots
great ideas
What wholesale sites are legit ones? I have a horrible time trying to weed through all the ones that come up if you attempt to search online.
Theres thousands unfort i would have to go site by site to say yes or no
@@RockstarFlipper which one did you mention in your video? I didn't find a link.
@@JDfan3340too my site liquidationlots4less-gmail-com.myshopify.com/collections/lots
wholesale ninjas is a great site, sometimes i use PULSE TV too. several liquidator websites unfortunately require a tax ID/reseller permit for purchase. several small businesses can be good too, but sometimes they'll be selling leftover inventory they couldn't move.
The sourcing is the fun part if you are a low volume person. Plan short day trips, have lunch, good for the soul. We go to Jacksonville often, it’s as far as I can go right now, I look forward to it. 😊
@@mariebrandon91 true but for anyone scaling it’s just not doable
I wonder if you ever made a video about the new ebay finance program that’s called Liberis they been spamming eBay sellers it probably would be helpful but I could be wrong thanks love your videos and knowledge
Its the small business loan company right? They use to use Other companies. You borrow money and grow (its expensive and short term tho)
No offense but I have been selling since 1999 and in the last 5 years of yard sales/estate sales/church sales I may have found your most wanted list items that actually worked maybe 50 times !! Guess I live in a very bad area !!
You have to think outside your local area, check out todays video
totally agree, you just need to think outside the box
Thats what separates success and failure
PLEASE look outside the box for inventory. It's much easier
Bro I lived in Tampa for 2 years, then 2 more in Clear Water before moving back to rural Tennessee. I love Tampa and miss the beach. However I agree with you 100%, I source so much here in the country both online also at Amazon warehouses here in Tennessee. I can buy pallets of various types of returned inventory there...electronics, housewares, clothes, etc. Another thing to consider is in rural areas you'll find some super amazing deals! Anyways great video man. 🤘🏻😎
I like going to the thrift stores & rummage sales. I feel the product, I source and research. I don't want to get pallets & boxes and then have to go through what's good, what's bad. WASTE Management???? Are you kidding? Does WM put aside electronics and not dump them?
@@Chicago48 I feel ya on the going through the good and bad but I must say with what I spend on Amazon pallets, I've always made a substantial profit. I also approach others sourcing pallets and let everyone know if they come across various items (particularly PC's, laptops, iPhones, Android phones, MacBooks, etc...) I'll buy them outright for a good discount, this saves them the trouble of listing and hoping they sell, they're assured to turn a profit even if marginally what they will go for used, open box, or in some cases retail (sealed box/unopened)! However it can be a daunting task to go through several large pallets especially when your down to the smaller items. If your a parent Haha it pays to then put the kiddos on the payroll (aka allowance bump). 😁 Now as far as WM, yes they set aside electronics, lawn equipment (mostly here) and a variety of home goods and even furniture that's in good shape. However, if you don't wanna purchase these items from WM, the law here is if it's on the curb it's up for grabs therefore a trip to a posh residential area such as Brentwood or The Gulch and you'd be amazed the things people toss! I've sourced working PCs and laptops and even a few game consoles straight from the curb just sitting there for anyone...the best part is they come from very nice and clean homes with most not even having dust. I recovered a 2 year old Lenovo Think Center that was being used as a server about a year ago! I formatted the 2 TB Samsung Evo SSD (alone that's about $140+) and added a 3090 GPU and turned it into an insane gaming machine and sold it for ...well...a very very respectable amount of cash! Casey is 100% about your sourcing tactics, be resourceful and think out of the box and 🤔, perhaps, even close to a dumpster. 😁🗑️💰
I accept 99.9% of offers lol
So do i lol
