Cause: American accent generally reads "Dana" when spelled "Donna", and reads " Day'na" when spelled "Dana" Issue: Alexa is designed to " hear it in American" because that's where it was programmed Obstacle: in Europe, mostly everywhere including Fr & Ru, "Dana" is said "Dana" (accent less) It's not about the Scottish accent, which would be impossible to replicate with AI, but the "American" accent which is too *heavy* and tends to regionalize pronunciation. Technical misunderstanding Also: "Dah-na" works in English accent because it's halfway between European (accentless) and American (Day'nah), so it's close enough for recog
