Soon after his debut in Amazing Fantasy #15, Spider-Man made waves in the Marvel comics lineup, becoming one of the most recognizable character on the planet. During his younger days, Peter Parker became friends with Harry Osborn, fought against Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin, and fell in love with Gwen Stacey. He also forged his working relationship with J. Jonah Jameson and cemented himself as a hero inside New York City. To summarize the entire decade of the 1960's into one issue is a monumental task, and the team of Chip Zdarsky and Mark Bagley are up for it. Spider-Man Life Story #1 hits all the high points of early Peter Parker and is relentless in it's story telling. You can't skip a panel or you'll miss an important moment or idea from his history. For any Spider-Man fan, or for new readers that need so background, this is a great place to find what you are looking for.
iRate Reviews is the show where I go over specific comic books from my pickup that deserve to be talked about and review them in a little bit more depth. This doesn't mean that they are always good though. Some comics are lessons in what NOT to do.

Pulled from an CBR article "According to Marvel, the purpose of the miniseries is to ask, "what if Spider-Man had aged at the same rate as our world?" It's described as "a tale encompassing the entire history of Spider-Man from beginning to end, set against the key events of each decade!" So yes, he is actually going to age in real time in this book.

It's funny because you give the entire story and it just makes me want to buy the book. It's like hearing a song on the radio and then having to go get it.

Castle didn't appear until the 1970s, so he'll be in next issue.

Castle was, but he wasn't in Spider-Man canon until the 1970's, and the book seems to be approaching characters and themes when they land in the appropriate decade. Would have been a cool cameo, but he will probably show up in the next issue, in a moment that mirrors his original introduction.
