Al Ewing and Joe Bennett have turned the Hulk into a horror story, which it always was from the beginning. Instead of smashing aliens in space and crushing cities, the story centers are the Immortal Hulk, a devil in green that wishes to see the end of the human world. It also deals with Bruce Banner, and his relationship with the monster inside him. However, going heavy on the body horror during his transformations, bringing the dead back to life in their gamma powered forms, and hunting down a secret organization all add drama to the depth. Immortal Hulk #16 continues this tradition and is an excellent place for fans to find new stories using classic characters.
