Amazing Slime Mold Time lapse

Amazing slime mold. Time lapse of slime mold (mould) behaviour. First we see the phase where it is actively looking for food and following chemical cues from potential food items. Lastly we see a phase that somewhat resembles fungoid in nature, ie Sporulation. When food has run out or a change in environmental conditions is encountered, these things can trigger sporulation to occur.
Slime Molds (Moulds) are NOT related to Fungi although originally classified within this group but are now placed within the Amoebazoa.

I'm not sure "easy" is the right word to describe that however, due to their bright colors for a lot of them, you should be able to easily notice them after rain or when the ground os very damp and in not so well lit places. if you look under rotting logs or rocks lying upon the soil, which might have voids under them, you may be lucky and find some. Thanks for watching!

Very difficult because in reality it is a microorganism which comes together to form this "plasmodium" and even breaking small part of it off will have no effect. We usually only see it when it comes above the ground, otherwise they are fairly ubiquitous in the soil and decomposing matter of the planet.

At this point the slime mould has "run out of energy" and it has begun to change it's usual characteristics getting ready to produce spores. It only assumes the plasmodial stage when food and environmental conditions are favourable for it. If any of these two parameters change, then they will begin to change to enable spore production. Thanks for watching.
