This year I decided to do something different for my wife's birthday. With absolutely ZERO experience baking, I decided that I was going to bake a cake, my first experience, as a way to show her that I wanted to do something special for her. It came out surprisingly delicious. She loved it. We all loved it. I am actually excited now to try other recipes. Your instructions are easy to follow. I THANK YOU so much for this.

@@snehadhanawade8226 You can use any plant based milk such as soy, almond, oat, cashew etc. I'm vegan & bake vegan cakes & I use plant milk all the time, you won't notice any difference.

Recipe ingredients from the video (not the linked recipe) • 1 lb grated carrots Dry Ingredients: • 2 1/2 cup all purpose flour • 2 tsp baking soda • 2 tsp baking powder • 1 1/2 tsp salt • 1/2 tsp cinnamon • 1/4 tsp ginger • 1/2 tsp cardamon • 1/2 tsp all spice Wet Ingredients: • 3/4 cup sour cream • 3/4 cup veg oil • 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce • 1 2/3 cup white sugar • 2 tsp vanilla • 3 eggs at room temp • 1 cup chopped pecans (toss in flour before adding to batter) 1. Grate carrots 2. Sift dry ingredients 3. Mix wet ingredients 4. Pour wet into dry ingredients and mix 5. Add nuts and carrots and mix 6. Pour into pans and cake for 40-45 mins at 350 Frost with cream cheese frosting:) Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe: • 3 sticks room temp butter • 16oz room temp cream cheese • 1 3/4 lb confectioner's sugar • 2 tsp vanilla • pinch of salt 1. Cream butter and cream cheese 2. Add everything else and mix, ta da I followed this recipe and it was so good!!

Yeah I was very confused about the different ingredients! Preppy kitchen is my go to and I added both sugars and it’s way too sweet 🤪 why doesn’t the recipe match the video! Argh

Thank you for making this video. I made this cake for my husband's birthday this week. Thanks to you, it turned out AMAZING. He asked for "interruptions" so I added toasted walnuts to the batter, along with some soaked and drained golden raisins and currants. I also added a tsp of lemon juice to the cream cheese frosting along with one of vanilla and vanilla bean scrapings. It was so rich and moist it made us need a moment with our food. It was the second time in my life I'd ever made a real cake. Thank you again!!💕

With raisins it feels like people either love em or hate em; very few who say, "doesn't matter". Personally I don't like them in any baked goods and would never just eat some raisins but I always liked Raisin Bran cereal. Go figure

I haven’t baked in 2 years and my boyfriend wanted me to make a carrot cake for his birthday since we can’t go out due to the quarantine and let me tell you, this was AMAZING. I searched all over the internet for the perfect recipe and it turned out so great and it impressed his family too. The sour cream and apple sauce really made the difference. Subscribed!

Like so many others commenting here I too decided to venture out and try something new and baked your Carrot Cake yesterday. In a word…Awesome! I’ve got plenty of photos I took during the process and of course the final product that I’d love to share if that’s possible. My wife and neighbors were blown away by both the presentation and certainly the taste. Absolutely the best Carrot Cake I’ve ever had. Thanks for sharing your incredible recipe.

I make my carrot cake with pineapple, nuts, and coconut. I call it a "tropical" carrot cake. I love to try it different ways too.

In the Netherlands we cook with Celsius and you would always recommend by 5 degrees, so we'd never bake at 177 degrees. It would either be 175 or 180.
