Almost Stranded At The Thailand/Malaysia Border (Thai Hospitality Saved Our Day)
How We Almost Got Stranded at the Thailand/Malaysia Border - Thai Hospitality Saved Our Day then
If you missed part one of this vlog ➡️ • Visiting A Village At ...
Still in Padang Besar, a small border town in Songkhla, southern Thailand. Padang Besar is separated by the international border between Thailand and Malaysia. One side of the town is in Thailand, the other side is in Malaysia. Pretty interesting! After visiting the Malaysian side half a year ago, it was not time to visit Padang Besar in Thailand as well. After strolling around some street markets here we found out that there are no busses, trains or vans going back to Hat Yai today. We came from Hat Yai earlier that day and needed to go back. So, we almost stranded at the Thailand/Malaysia border here. But then Thai Hospitality saved our day….
Could you image living in a town that is separated by an international border? Let me know in the comments ⬇️

I am Ken Abroad, a full-time traveler traveling southeast Asia, currently living in Thailand, making Thailand travel vlogs. It is my goal here on this channel to visit every country in southeast Asia and bring you along the journey.
You won’t see much tourist places in my videos, I rather like to show the “real” sides of each country in my videos. Where do the local people go to eat? Where do they hang out? How do the locals travel through the country? Stuff like that.
There will be almost daily uploads on this channel, during the next months from Bangkok and Thailand. I will be traveling Thailand, showing you around local places in Bangkok or try lots of different Thai food. Join the journey if you are interested in experiencing Bangkok now and Thailand 2021 from a more authentic local point of view.

Good hospitality, kindness and generosity people over there.
Prior to pandemic Malaysians used to shop so many things in padang besar which were cheap.
Ice cream van sound would make a good ringtone
God bless you and your family
before the pandemic I was always here, really missed the food here from Malaysia
What a nice fruit shop Thai ladies. Interesting falang (??) group journey, to see the Thai-Malay border city.
May Allah ease everything. Take care both of you.

She is a very good lady. You should appreciate her effort in helping you all to call for the van. And some might thought that “oh she got kickback or sort of rewards from the driver in calling his service “ , please don’t think like that. How much would you think the driver would given to her ? 200 bht 300 bht? Or 500 bht? What is this hundreds bht ? I rather be happy in helping with genuine heart than taking little money as reward. Because the happiness arisen in genuine kindness always greater than monetary reward! ☺️

Hi Ken & friends 👋🏻 wow they are so nice people and helpful for arranging the taxi van 👍 certain area they have limited time for transportation Ken. I remember last time we took a taxi van from Bukit Kayu Hitam border of Malaysia to Hatyai and we had to make a booking from the same guy that took us. Just inform the time and place of hotel where we wanted them to pick-up. That will be much easier , that was always the case. The driver appreciated and was happy because we made booking and they always punctual on the dot 👍😁

@KenAbroad

Ich bin hier mit dem 90 tage TR visum, welches man aktuell wegen covid nochmal extra verlängern kann, aktuell geht das bis mindestens Ende Juli. Vermutlich länger 👍
Ken reminds me of when I was young and hopeful. Now all I look forward to is my daily regime of antipsychotic tablets. Maybe I'll get back out there one day but I worry the locals will make fun of me because I'm ugly.

@@Stylelss Phuket will be the first city to open for quarantine-free tourism(with a requirement to remain in Phuket for the first 7 days) starting July this year. Google “Phuket Sandbox” for more info. Samui is on the list to open in July as well but with slightly tighter restrictions. Krabi and a few other provinces including BKK I believe will be opening in October if our vaccination programme goes as planned.
Farang was a name used to refer to the Portuguese colonialist.

It came from the Persian word ‘ferenghi’ for foreigner. The Malay used this word to refer to the Portuguese when they in invaded Malacca in 1511 CE. Also used in Star Trek as fictional race that invade and trade.
