Ken Abroad

Ken Abroad

Traveling & experiencing Asia. Getting to know people, places, food, culture.

I strive to learn the most about each country, experience their culture, eat their food, see how they live, witness their daily life, learn about their work, get to know what they believe in and understand their perspective of life.

You won’t see many tourist places in my videos, I rather like to show the “real” sides of each country in my videos. Where do the local people go to eat? Where do they hang out? How do the locals travel through the country? Stuff like that.

Join the journey & subscribe to the channel if you are interested in experiencing Asia.

China is so much cooler than Korea. Korea copied everything from China anyway (or Japan or Murica). Plus Murica has a very powerful anti-China campaign that ensures nothing Chinese is seen as cool.

Let us say the exchange rate is 1 US$ = 7 RMB. If I pay via Alipay in China to buy a RMB100 merchandise, will the bank statement of the credit card show the same amount of US$ 700 as I was charged by the merchant ( in RMB), or could it be more? Will US banks deliberately use exchange rates unfavorable to me?

I'm not sure why you are staying in the oldest district in Seoul, 남대문. As you can see throughout the video, all the people around you are old people. You should hang out where youngsters stay lol.

FYI the day for Muslims to go to mosques is Friday. It is common a Muslim country has two days around Friday as weekend. Ken simply proves foreigners can easily go to Xinjiang to have a look. If you are interested, you should really try Xinjiang wildness tourism spots, they are great. And in China getting there is not hard at all, much easier than many mountains in eastern China.

Hi Ken! Some of the key things is knowing where to go as Koreans tend to not overly share good locations in worry of long queues in the future if they disclose hot places/eats. If you like meat, go to “금돼지“ or “gold pig” for korean bbq. Korean fried chicken is also very good. You can head to a chain at “BHC” or “BB.Q” which should be tasty. Also,Korea has many great cafes and dessert shops. 10/10 recommend “Seongsu” neighbourhood with a cafe called “Daerim Chango”/“대림창고” or “Cafe Onion”. Lastly, for navigation use Naver Maps or Kakao maps in place of google as it is more accurate due to accurate local infrastructure.
