@@artistsodyssey His ashes were significantly faded in the 2018 game and in this game they seemed to have his skin whiter? Or maybe just a trick from all the snow. But for this og Kratos skin they absolutely made his skin whiter, along with the more newer red tattoo

There's something really beautiful about having the young Kratos skin at 1:03:00, where Atreus is saying that he doesn't have to be who he was, but Kratos on many levels still holds himself accountable *as* the man he was.

Okay, please hear me out… At 3:49 it changed my opinion of old Kratos so much. He put his hands on Atreus’ shoulder and… He LOVES him. And it’s such a difference than just HEARING the lines. Or seeing the eyes. The lack of a beard in this video - is able to properly connect with the audience showing the VERY minute details in Kratos’ face. I’ve been playing the is game for about over a year and… Just a very good choice on the devs part for releasing this version and on you for showing it. I would never have known otherwise.

Man, when Ragnarok releases on PC the first thing modders should do is port his classic skin to 2018, the expresions would be awesome😮

I love this, but I do love the beard more. I feel it purposefully hides a lot of the pain on Kratos's face, perhaps something he intentionally wanted.

This design looks so good it really makes me wish that Kratos had this design from the get go... like maybe when he got his blades back in gow4 he just completely took on his old persona again and had to battle that out with Atreus there.... it feels a bit more natural to me when he struggles with new and old problems simultaneously.... this is too cool

It was more of a developers troll type of kratos death, it isnt really lore accurate, we saw how kratos overpowered, out smarter thor in the battle, sometimes in battle not only power matters what makes kratos different is that kratos battle iq, his discipline and his knowledge of a fight, kratos is 100% beter warrior then thor and be outstrengeth thor in the second battle, seconds after thor sent the snake back, let people cope to thor “killing” Kratos because of a developers trol, real people know who won at last.

@@efeerdem1759 yeah but that's specifically why it bothers me. Don't troll as a developer just because omegalul Kratos loses. Like that's so lame and it completely removes me from the immersion of Kratos' character. If you die in game, sure, troll away, but in a scene where you're decimating through Thor... like it adds nothing to the scene and I'd venture to say it detracts from the narrative as a whole.

Well, it's not anything new. Kratoshas died a few times before and came back even stronger. It's no different this time. Kratos himself isn't invincible but he still never loses, as he continues to defy fate and break rules. But that doesn't mean he's weaker than Thor, I believe he's stronger

Thats what I thought at the start of God of War 4 with Balder. Kratos let him punch him 3 times before he lost his temper, I was thinking Balder didnt know how lucky he was, young Kratos would have torn his head off for making him stand up to answer the door, especially after he'd just burned his wife that same morning. Old Kratos is way less bad tempered, it takes a lot more to set him off. When Thor asked if he was a "calm and reasonable person" I guess he never heard of the fucking Ghost of Sparta.

It does. I would say this version of him would be before the events of 2018. Canon. Just a bit younger. Obviously putting it in ragnarok isn't canon at all

I mean I get your point but we are used to hear younger Kratos always screaming his lungs out because of his anger, even in his normal dialogues he always sounded so pissed about anything. If I would see this skin as cannonical during GoW 2018/Ragnarok/Valhalla, this is calm and normal sounding Kratos, with no anger involved, just him normally talking 😌
