Not really. He loved killing people. If he could have been redeemed, then we would have needed to see it before the end of Season 1. But all we got is him admitting that he really enjoyed killing innocent people. Even his former friends wouldn't have gone that far.

​@@Paisley_MultiFairyI get you're making a joke probably, but when Tyler got that call from Wednesday of her accepting his date (which turned out to be manipulation by Wednesday to investigate the gates mansion) he seemed to have a sincere smile, like he did truly like Wednesday and loved spending time with her, and possibly the Hyde personality became attracted to Wednesday as well with the date scene and what not, it would make sense given she has a dark personality that goes well with a hyde personality. But then his dad mentions "a girl like that will get you hurt." Which makes normal Tyler think of mom which allows Hyde Tyler to gain control of Tyler from there since Laurel used the trauma of his mom to trigger the Hyde out, and how she creepily refers to herself as Mama to Tyler when giving him an order. So I do think that is why Tyler became so mad, not because his dad didn't want him with Wednesday, but because the Hyde came out, which is a split personality of Tyler. This is why the Hyde tries to attack his father in the woods. I do not think normal Tyler had as much control of himself as others think.

I think they will give him a Happy ending by Killing him while saving Wednesday 🤔

At first a bit of me thought 'maybe if his dad had gotten him tested for being a Hyde and then sent him to Nevermore where they'd have professionals who know how to treat a Hyde appropriately and safely, none of this would've happened', then I remembered 'then they'd be sending him directly into Laurel Gates's path'. Then again if he knew what he was before he met her then maybe he might not have become quite so devoted to her.

In hindsight, I realise the bathtub scene was one of the main foreshadowing moments but it was easy for the audience to miss the hint given the seeming lack of context and how it was sorta randomly shown at the end of an episode.

​@Unversed333 but I saw an interview in which he answered the q as to why tyler betrayed wednesday by saying that he did have the initial level of attraction especially when they meet the first time but the Hyde thing overshadowed everything

I suspected Thornhill since beginning. But I trusted Tyler like Wednesday did. She shared every clue with him, involved him in her heists. But seeing these scenes again now brings out so many sus moments

Tyler's story is pretty sad, he is getting tortured every now and then and developed a fear of it. Through the entire vid Tyler cared about Wednesday and I really want him and Wednesday to stay together in Season 2 Cuz I can't wait for it. Btw he is my fav male dude in the entire show, he is handsome and smiling very beautifully and I can't stand against it lol 😂😄😄😂

I kinda feel bad for him a lot of people are choosing to ignore the scenes of thornill literally torturing him and enslaving him into doing her dirty work.

@@rachelasf2125 The monster itself is probably grateful yeah but they atleast start out as two completely separate personalities. What it says on the show is “The Hyde lays dormant until unleashed by a traumatic event or unlocked through chemical inducement or hypnosis. This act causes the Hyde to develop an immediate bond with its liberator, who the creature now sees as its master.” Laurel lured him in with the information about his mom and used a plant chemical to brainwash him/get him to trust her then she tortured him in that cave to trigger the Hyde. And since the monster is grateful for that it follows her orders. It doesn’t make sense for them to show us both the cave with the shackles and those scenes of him being tortured if that’s not what actually happened, we don’t see scenes like that for her other theories

Irony that Tyler said to Wednesday "am I just a part of a game you play"

I'm in the minority here, but I thought Wednesday and Tyler worked. Sure, the show itself didn't handle things well. Tyler had backstory they could've expanded on. The only person he had relationship with was his dad, someone he hates. Then, out of no where, dark goth girl appears in the coffee shop he works in. Aside from the Hyde stuff, She was the one giving his life excitement. I think this season needed a few rewrites with one being Tyler needed to have little to no understanding of what he does as a Hyde at least in the show. In fact, Tyler is the perfect example of what a Nevermore Student should've been (Appears normal, wants to live a sort of normal life, yet is destructive unintentionally).

personally, i enjoyed their dynamic as it was. wednesday was never supposed to be in a fully functional relationship from the get-go. the characters here are morally grey, wednesday threw piranhas in a pool full of people (waited for some time so that some could get out, but some still be hurt) and tyler is a hyde with extremely poor control of his abilities. he was manipulated and used, but he cannot control his hyde nature yet, it’d be a journey of relapse and recovery for him to do so. it’s still season 1, after all. i do not expect tyler to get his perfect redemption, at least not soon enough, i don’t think it would make sense. i think he should be out for vengeance for laurel. he’s hurt, traumatized, used, manipulated but manipulative and villainous as well. he has not figured out who he is yet and that’s what makes him a great character for me

Tbh Tyler doesn’t deserve any of this. Mrs. Thornhill made Tyler her slave. It’s sad and Tyler is a good guy.

@@breezetrees what’s weird for me first time I watched Wednesday I went in thinking Xavier, Enid, Tyler and Eugene all could be love interests and started immediately shipping her with Xavier thinking it unlikely he was the Hyde cause she kept guessing it was him. But after rewatching I want her with Tyler bad and I keep rewatching just Wednesday and Tyler. I like him more for being angry and on the dark side lol. My favourite love stories are when they are enemies to lovers so I’m going and hoping he realises Wednesday is the best and falls madly in love with her. And idk why but I love Ajax and Enid together I hope they don’t ruin them.
