Multiple Mana trogs could really keep opponents inflicted with Confusion and Pain, and allies with Enrage and Discipline. Sounds like a ball.

it would have been cool to play as an undead who have both styles of a normal playthrough a d a trog where you either mix your skeleton type or base skeleton armor, but not both

An undead playthrough would be awesome. Merton is as close as we get but that is more about limiting yourself than anything else.

My biggest take away from my Trog play is that Trogs can't use backpacks, lanterns or torches, and have no access to magical light, so they have real illumination issues. If the game had given them inherent nightvision (and perhaps a glare when in sunlight) it would make the trog run feel so much more unique. One trick I've found when I know I'm going to have to fight in the dark is to craft a campfire kit ahead of time and light it before combat. Weapons that glow are also a huge boon --- the Crystal Staff (a legacy trog staff) is a good illumination option and a decent weapon. My trog swaps between it and a spear, since my skill bar has so much room. Additionally, overburdening a trog's pouch doesn't seem to have nearly the impact it would on a normal hero. In Go-gO armor, you can still book it! I crossed the burning desert in 1minute and 36 seconds!

Damn, that sounds super challenging. Yeah, trogs being cave creature's should definitely have some sort of night vision.

It won't let me craft with. Ightmare or Sulphur mushrooms. How do you do it? I've been trying to figure it out for almost a year now.

Well those trogs were added with DE. So make sure you have definitive edition. After that you should need standard crappy armor such as worker gear to craft it. Just in your inventory like usual. Not sure why it would not be working for you tbh.

Question: What are the best three classes for a trog to take, based on useful passive skills. I made mine a Hex Mage, just because I felt like the heals would useful, and Mercenary for the excessive speed and stamina. But I'm not sure of my third. Although the Wild Hunter's Health boost is always useful, no other passive in the tree has meaning to a Trog. Anyone try anything out of the box? What does a "Speedster" trog look like? Depending on Nightmare Mushrooms perhaps.

I've made so many Trog builds and Rogue Engineer for the Pressure Plate traps are a must and highly recommended. Those skills go great with the Go'gO armour.

@@LemurMaster It's all about picking the right builds for the Trogs. There is probably about two really viable builds that can easily finish the Faction quests and both DLC's.

@@LemurMaster If your using the Green Armour, then taking certain passives and joining the Heroic Kingdom, I can get around +195% Decay damage. If, your going for the Blue Armour, again, I would join Heroic Kingdom. There are a few really nice passives to go with that one, like using a breakthrough with the Hermit in Chersonese. It doesn't tell you, but it will increase your impact and damage with your skill to 25 and 35%. The Annoying Trog Armour is actually pretty good with Holy Mission and both trainers in Levant. Sorry, I forgot most of the names but will get all those and upload a guide on exactly what passives to use with each one.

somehow i managed to complete the faction quest.

Does anyone know why it won't let me make the armor Go'gO I have all the dlc and the definitive edition :(

Unfortunately I am not sure. It should just be a piece of clothing and the nightmare mushroom.

I feel like they were made for hardcore runs because you're not gonna be able to loot/craft that much anyway

I agree. There is a major challenge aspect to the trog.

@@tobiasrex8052 Yes it is, If you inflict Plague with the Green Trog, you can act as a carrier and run through the Dungeon and just pass it onto other enemies.

@@tobiasrex8052 With certain passives, I can get the Shriek to push out 86 Decay damage. I'm uploading a build guide for the Poison Trog soon. All his poison attacks basically do triple damage with this build.

That combo is a bit overpowered honestly lol. Shriek has so much damaged attached to it and since the green trog is immune to decay damage you have 0 consequences for using it. Very useful for so many fights. Especially in Caldera.

Speaking of challenge runs- here’s an idea- try beating all the bosses with a build that uses no breakthrough points AND just fails ALL of your faction’s quests. This includes parallel quests and the dlc quests. Become the best worst Outward player of all time. Your name would be… Rip Van Winkle (because most quest fails come from being a lazy butt who takes too long and sleeping would be the fastest way to do it) Oh, and do it all on hardcore.

@@SheenShots ok, maybe hardcore is going a bit too far… player’s choice, but you can also only use “base” armor types. But, you can enchant them, and they do have some of their own unique enchants. The Tattered Set actually has an alternative color scheme that doesn’t look half bad either 😅

That running animation is one of the major reasons I just can't enjoy these. Kinda makes me sad tbh because I'm a huge RP nerd.

Trogs are a goofy thing. They aren't really all that fun due to how much difficulty they add, but is interesting and some people enjoy the challenge enough I guess.
