TOP 5 Tips & Tricks For Outward Definitive Edition 2022
Ойындар
Here are my top 5 tips and tricks for Outward Definitive Edition. I have done multiple live streams of the game at this point and I feel these couple of tips could be very useful to many people. There is an insane amount of things to do in this game, and it can sometimes seem overwhelming and even too challenging. I remember what it was like starting the game as a beginner it felt like I got beat up every single fight. Never go into battler without health regen, stamina regen, and good stagger skills. Your weapon alone will not be enough to beat this game. Hope you enjoy these tips & tricks, and hope you keep enjoying Outward.
Outward is an RPG/survival game that allows you take to make an almost infinite number of builds. Melee, magic, archery, and even traps are scattered across this harsh world in the form of skills. You must have a large amount of money to purchase these skills, but luckily the monsters drop extremely valuable items. The game has been harshly criticized due to how realistic and difficult it is. Feel free to subscribe and watch me beat the crap out of some crazy monsters.

Another tip for newbies: Never underestimate the buff you get from just drinking water. It's a significant amount of stamina regained over time, and will be a lifesaver in the early game.

@@faszikilawang8445 Yeah, Gaberry jam on toast is a great consistent source of stamina too. I mention the water especially, because a lot of people seem to miss that, and then complain a lot about how stamina comes back too slow, when it's a basically-free option you have before you're even allowed to leave town. In regards to combat and stagger/impact damage, that Sheen didn't explain fully: whenever an attack that hits the enemy brings them below 50% of the grey stagger bar, that attack, and every subsequent attack until they fall (when at 0%), which stagger them. How much you take from their bar depends on the impact damage stat of your weapon. So instead of just fishing for openings between their combos, and getting a hit in, you should instead use those openings to try to get the enemy to below 50% stamina/stagger bar, so you can really whale on them until they get up again, and then repeat. If you're extra crazy, you can let the enemy keep regenerating just a little bit of stagger bar, so they don't go down to 0%, and you can effectively stunlock some enemies to death. The Push Kick ability you start with is insane for setting up attacks that the enemy can't retaliate on, as it takes most enemies down to 50% straight away, so all you have to do is land a hit with your weapon after to stunlock them with a combo to keep staggering them. Only the big chunky enemies won't go down to 50% straight away, and if you're packing a high enough impact damage weapon, you can even still bring them down below 50% on the first attack after the kick. If you're a melee character, you should always have Push Kick on your bars, and use it in combat as it is probably the fastest 'attack' in the game, with the most impact damage. Once I figured this out, melee combat became much easier to handle to the point where its only my greed that gets me hit
Another tip for your free skill from Burac: Don't take Talus Cleaver, the one-handed axe skill. It's trainer is also in Cierzo. Up on the deck next to the Kazite Spellblade trainer.

Water and tartine 4 life
Vandavel and purifier can be done after joining any faction, do these while waiting 3 days for the main quest. Blood under the sun can be started by heading to an inn after the attack of berg with the corresponding faction quest. All 3 parallel quests can be done really quickly. While also letting you visit all towns and pick up some skills for your build etc. The scholar circlet is god tier with enchantments. Almost any build of mine uses it in one way or another.
because of missions being timed I usually recommend that new players focus on learning combat/earning silver/learning to navigate the different areas before joining a faction. That way you can take your sweet time learning combat(you'll need it), and eventually even go explore harmattan and mess with enchants or hex skills without worrying about starting the rust and vengeance mission. Having said that, I still somehow accidentally activated the mission without ever joining a faction one time. (I think it's from exploring a dungeon associated with rust and vengeance?) You do not want to be a noob and roll up in some of those antique plateau dungeons
I finished the game once and I only _just_ learned about how *stagger* works. 😅 It's one of the major differences between combat in Outward and combat in FromSoft games. In the latter, most light enemies and the player will almost always stagger with each hit, which makes combos from fast weapons deadly effective unless they manage to roll out of the way or get a guard up. That this happens in Outward only after significant *stability* damage isn't necessarily clear to new players, making every enemy feel like a less deadly Crucible Knight if you don't really try and hurt their *stability.*

@@xXswagy0l0blazeit420yes I love outward but it wouldn’t hurt to limit enemy stamina or remove the fact that players can be staggered too. We can get staggered and have stamina but the NPCs play by their own rules, doesn’t feel like we are all just normal people when only the protagonist is constrained by certain mechanics
I love how outward combat is all about impact, it makes you prepare, is realistic, and it’s better and fairer than just “you get kb because you are,” which happens in all too many games.. it’s just random sometimes.

I when I was just starting playing found 2-habded axe skill is useful as first skill and weapon. 2-handed axe does lots of damage on its own. The trick is to activate skill after regular attack, which basicaly causes to do 2 attacks without cooldown. Enough to kill most of enemies like bandits and trogs. And 2-handed axe skill does just massive damage.

Starting Outward with no prior knowledge of how the game works or its quirks/mechanics is pretty rough.. I went from hating the game immediately to loving it once I got skills for the build to work alongside the claymore Swords I love using.
Such a great vid, so helpful. If I may add a great farm I run. In the Abbrasar desert there are so many ornate chests around 10. You have to do the arcane magik side mission and defeat the 3 golems in the dungeon to unlock the purple stone altar chests around the desert. It’s where you get one of the tsar stones. Fairly easy to do early, and you can reset these chests as many times as you want :)

Yes this is such a great point. Those ornate chests are really easy to get to and really not that far away from the town either. The desert is for sure on of the best money farming locations in Outward.
I just started a new character and the build i made is stupid op and still has plenty of room for extra perks/ improvements since ive still got another full tree i can invest into. Friendly immaculates halberd Full set of tenebrous armor from levant for the +20% ethereal damage Any backpack Mist boon Enrage and focus spells Bloodlust Lockwells revelation Shamanic resonance Sigil of wind + mana push to cast ethereal bolt Moon swipe Not all perks shown are necessary but do play well into the build, also ive only used 2 breakthroughs so far so there is plenty of room for improvement but as it stands i can stunlock a wendigo and kill it in a few hits lol

And consider blood sigil+ conjure and you only need to run around from caligrays while it kills them.

@@Azg4l0R1 yeah i can wipe out shell horrors and wendigos with ease with my build, im also going to go with the levant storyline so i can get the perk that gives an extra +15% to all damage types which is going to be nuts. I think it took 1 moonswipe currently to knock a wendigo down lol
i literally just noticed the addition of the time & date on the quest screen and couldn’t remember if i was just forgetting it not being there, so thanks for confirming that it was new. also, thanks for adding my tip about Burac, and i like the addition of using the cloth knuckles to get the rage boon- nice little combo👍. mostly i always just felt people were screwing themselves out of a free skill that they would have a hard time to find. i think the 1 handed axe skill is also found in cierzo from the other kazite trainer, so if you’re unsure of what weapon you want for you build, maybe hold off on taking that one too if you plan on bumming around chersonese for a while (or like a month like I tend to do 😅) edit: oh, and thanks for the confirmation on the 3 days thing. i was also just looking for some definitive info on that but no matter where i looked everyone was just so wishy-washy about it. someone would say yes, and then someone would reply, “well hold on a minute,” and then the 1st person would second guess themselves and then never follow up and it was annoying. so thanks for some solid confirmation. good to know than now that i’ve joined the Mission i can finish up purifier and go do Vendeval even tho the 3 days are up. generally great basic guide for when to do the parallel quests. just hard info to find otherwise and its nice to finally have an easy reference point without having to scour the wiki. solid 👍

Thank you! I don't have a video on coop tips actually. Might be a fun video to make actually. Here are some that may interest you: -Hex mage is insane for agro. if you use torment on your enemy they will likely never try to hit your partner. -Staggering enemies can be really abused in coop. Both of you use enrage and then one push kick from you both will work like a charm. -The combinations you can create in coop are broken. One person use shatter shot in the cannon pistol. The other person use a dagger with opportunist stab. You can reload every time your partner staggers the enemy and things die rapidly. -The best skill tree for coop is primal ritualist. If one person takes the full tree the other person will also gain 5 protection and barrier. Plus both of you can hit the totems when the enemy is not on you. -The elite burning man boss is a cheat in coop. They broke him by giving him infinite stability. So the only efficient way to beat him in coop is to become immune to fire. And even then its not easy.

While the first skill choice is not that important. I Personally think Halbert is the best choice (for early cleaver fun) and 1h mace is the worst (exept if you want to go spellblade). - 1h axe is also in cierzo so not a good choice - Spear and 1h swords are good choices since running to levant is quite a journey in early game if you are inexperienced.

I like halberd as well. Feels for me at least that groups of enemies are the hardest thing in the early game. You just can't kill things without taking damage from the other opponent. Moon swipe fixes that and is pretty easy to hit the enemy with.
Important items I didn't hear in this video- The 7 day reset applies to enemies, loot stashes, and placed items (by player or pre-set) and you must stay out of the area for the full 7 days. Player houses do NOT reset the inside. So placing a campfire and alchemy station in your first house will never disappear. 3 day respawn timer is applied to merchants inventory, repeatable quests, and natural resources and you do NOT have to leave the area. Always drop your bag before a fight, keep "OH NO" items in your pocket, like health potions, so you can run away and heal. Also, you can dodge like an NPC without your bag on if you have stamina (the moment your bar fills while on the ground, you can dodge off the ground away from the NPC). Google the rest as you need, like weapon speed and trainer locations.
Great video

just a quick question: if you go to harmattan after the first faction quest mission you start automatically rust and vengeance, so if you visit harmattan before choosing and starting a faction nothing should happen am i right? because in an earlier video you showed a quick way to make bucks in harmattan and that wouldnt be available before the endgame by following this order
@SheenShots
Жыл бұрын
I totally understand the confusion. The questline in Harmattan does NOT start automatically if you go there before the faction quest. This only occurs if you go there after starting it. You can manually start the quest before hand by using three power coils on the robot in town. But other than that you are free to head there any time you like until your faction quest is started. So simple answer yes you can head there before the quest and nothing will happen. Hope that helps!
I would add one more tip on the sets. You don't need to match the "set", it's even more beneficial to mix different pieces from few "sets". When you look on the item's stats and possible enchantments...that's where depth hidden for me.
I'm curious to see which tips will be on this list!

What should I do if I want to join the Sorobor Academy faction? Won’t that activate the Rust and Vengeance quest automatically since they are in the same city?
@SheenShots
Жыл бұрын
Yes this does. Sororbor is different however because it has 5 sections instead of 4. The first section is where you earn your place in the faction and this won't actually start it if I remember correctly. You need to begin the "first" part of the faction which is technically the second for that area for rust and vengeance to begin. I just checked the wiki and it says the parallel timers start after you try to join by helping people. So when you get a 3 day timer do not start the next part of your quest or it will start rust and vengeance. (Hopefully this helps. It is a little hard to explain.)

I’ve been loving this game. I’m like 40 hours in. Il admit tho I had to call my guy code sonic. When I first heard about the cheat I was like oh il never use that. Then I started getting about and thought man I wish I had it 😂 so I made a new character and played with the cheat. Without it I’d of gave up as even with it. The thought of going all the way back to my house really bums me out. I’m trying to get one of the other houses. However I’m constantly over encumbered. And im doing the quest where you need the four keys,that and the constant barrage of negative status effects is killing my motivation. For example. I got the kelvin Greataxe I think it was called. With the antique plate armour. Only to find out having that weapon means I’m constantly freezing my tush off and catching a cold. This on top of catching constant disease and corruption whilst traversing these dungeons to find these keys has really just sucked the enjoyment out for me at the moment. Is there any tips you know of or a mechanic I’m missing that can make life a little easier. I carry the different weather potions and cures and teas. But again it’s weight. With the weight of cash too encumbered is a constant state for me.
@SheenShots
Жыл бұрын
The thing about the quest you are doing is that is very heavy on the loot. I have completed it 20+ times and still get over encumbered. There is a friendly trog you can free in that region that can help with the weight and sell potions for dealing corruption. May want to look into that. As for other ailments, you will probably want to head into town after completing a section of the "train dungeon." I usually do one area, then head back with my loot and buy things to fix myself up. It sounds a bit tedious, but most of the entrances are not that from from the town. And I don't blame you as the dungeons is the most taxing part of Outward when going through for the first time. They are sort of mazes and if you don't know which key does what its easy to get confused.

@@SheenShots wow can’t tell ya how much I appreciate the reply. So used to not getting one I will definitely look for the Trog. At first I was carrying the elite desert armour to throw on when it was hot but after this last run back to cierzo I tried to only take things i need. I have the 110 capacity back pack and it was still over weight 😂 so i only took like 800 coins with me 200 a piece to the caravaners to make the trip a little quicker. Then hit the train dungeons with my new weapon. Only to be freezing and cold all the time followed by winding up in an ice area with fire enemies and then poison enemies and I caught a disease beginning with L and another one I can’t remember 😂 before I know it im through my potions slowly dying of multiple diseases and facing another gruelling trip back to town. Anyway im rambling. My question now is. I’ve been to maybe 5 different areas via that train and cleared them. But I’ve come across the one key. Does each area have a key and is a must to clear? I also went back in from one of the doors I’d left having gone back to cierzo. Thinking it would be a quicker route to the train and all the bloody enemies were back lol 😂

Hey sorry but I am not sure of place with that info so here is what I know. All timers for how long buffs will last can be found in your I think 4th tab over. The timers for quests are in the quest tab and they will have a day on them. This day is the day you started any particular quest. Your map also has the current day on it. So you want to check your quest tab and then check your map. Make sure you aren't 20+ days ahead of your quest timer because that most likely means you didn't do something on time. So to put it simply, quest timers are fixed and your map will change with the current time. This lets you compare . Hopefully, that helps.
