One more thing that I like about daggers is that they are so light that you can bring more than 1 spare dagger for switching purposes and to cover different elemental weaknesses.

Great point! 4 or 5 daggers can easily be carried around and would offer you the chance to always have a one up on your enemies.

Glad to see you learned the value of "Unsuspected Strength" its my fav enchant. Best thing about it is no durability loss, which means you can freely use varnishes and weapon skills. Also all dagger attacks benefit from Patience and Masterpiece weapons buff to skills. Try out Kazite armor set with Assassin enchant, it buffs both damage and impact by 20%. Pearlescent Mail+Hound Mask+Scaled Boots nets you 32% damage bonus if you dont want extra impact.

The Rascal's Verve is another good enchant for this. 4 Protection (free Aegis), 30% Impact Damage (while the Assassin gives 20%), 28% Impact Resistance (more than the Tsar Shield). While the Unsuspected Strength buffs the damage, it does nothing for the impact damage. Iron weapons aren't great when it comes to stagger, so those extra 10% (65% with the Amplified Rage) do make a difference. I'm taking into account all other Iron weapons, while for the dagger - sure, the Assassin works much better.

Another great thing about the vampiric dagger is that it does not suffer from the slow attack speed that most other vampiric weapons do, so it is a great addition to a life drain build without slowing you down.

Same with the Vampiric Bow, as all bows (even the Tsar Bow) have 1.0 speed.

I didn't think about that but ya great point. Vampiric weapons do suffer just slightly from slow speed. Its not the worst, but not good enough to not notice.

Nice video.. The easiest for me to craft with a good chunk of damage is the manticore dagger with backstab, serpent's parry and opportunistic stab. Manticores are predictable and weak to fire.. Also a good time to get the Zhorn's Backpack. I don't even use the basic slash to save quickslots. One cannon pistol loaded with scraps will cause the 6x damage from Op Stab. Very well rounded for Early, mid and even late game. Also extreme poison is always nice to have. Good tip on the roundel dagger, I did not know that dagger enchant, I thought it only worked for iron weapons such as iron swords, axes etc.

I was litteraly thinking about making a dagger build, never make one Perfect timing ! Ty for your work !

Good point, vigilante dagger is pretty good. I just think the only vampiric weapons I would really use is the bow and the dagger.

About the vampiric dagger, if you use this dagger to strike Ghost Drums or Sky Chimes, then the blast these instruments send out also help replenish your health and it not reduce the durability of the dagger. I always use this combo to deal with Forge Master's minion.

@@SheenShots Already did my research. I got the rondel early with the enchantment... the rest seems lackluster in comparison. And It isn't too long ago sin I did a full physical build (golden knucles). I think I'm gonna go frost or decai build.

Zhorn's dagger with the aoe enchantment makes for a fun build with the Radiant sword. Using totems to debuff enemies to lightning and ethereal damage with the summoned ghost to distract them, while having high barrier and protection. Adding torment and rupture to the table. With the burnt stats recovered from the hex mage passive and Lockwell's revelation for more elemental damage.

Or you could duo with Gep's blade and just constantly explode everything. That just...sounds fun :D

dont forget to pair daggers with the whirlwind blade because it inflicts confusion

I was pretty surprised myself! They are way better than I ever thought!

Manticore dagger was my first dagger. But I found that it has very low durability meaning it rapidly reduces its damage when losing its durability. Actually, I think the vampirism dagger has same problem. Because of such, I often go for porcelain weapons or something simular with lots of durability. You don't wanna sleep after each fight just to fix it. Now I use that ice Shiver. And I pair it with Brand! 😃 Speedster allow you to inflict pain and confusion. Didn't know about electric blast enchantment. But looks amazing! Wonder if opportunist stab increases the base dmg 6 times for a second... might be cool with heroic kingdom passives.

Its a very weird enchant. Needs a lot of testing to find out exactly how to increase its damage in the best way. Looks pretty darn cool though that's for sure!

I used to run a dagger user that also used a tuanosaur axe. The idea was to let E bleed and poison do all the work. But this was before the nerf to bleed.

Bleed was nuts. Just used the pierce shot on a bow and everything died not long after. Now a poison and fire combo is ten times stronger.

Have you done a video on what you can get from Caldera with a brand new character? Would be interesting to see what you can loot

I came to the same conclusion about daggers. Altough I didnt know the glowing dagger was this good. I was really focused on the Astral dagger but I don't remember why.

Astral dagger inflicts some pretty good hexes if I remember correctly. Unfortunately its only useful for hex users so usually those weapons do make it to the list. Expect for astral bow which is easily the best astral weapon.

Rondel Dagger is the only dagger that has 8 different enchantments for it.

That was the masterpiece sword. It is the legacy version of the damascene sword found in Caldera. It boosts the damage of your attack skills including dagger ones... hence why I had it on for the dagger build lol. I think it is the most sword like sword in the game. Looks fantastic.

Wait, for Zhorns dagger with the enchant, would upping physical damage increase the lightning aoe? It would not, correct? Because it’s aoe scales off of the *base* damage?

This is a good point. I kind of missed that when reading. Sounds like boosting lightning damage would be the way to go. Good catch.

You should have seen my face when I found out that the best dagger in the game is the rondel.

I love daggers so much, they look so cool with varnishes, the weapon skills are interesting, Serpent Parry in particular, but by god do they suck. Attempted 2p arena bosses with a fairly optimized elemental dagger build and I was hitting like a napkin. It doesn't help that they have really short range so you often miss bigger enemies entirely, and also opportunist stab removes both pain and confusion when you use it so you can't really make a build around it. Sadly they lack the utility of pistols, or the damage/impact of chakrams, and aren't even really comfortable to use, so occupy the same "cool but suboptimal" niche as shields. That being said outside of arena bosses a well placed backstab with the rondel did one-shot some enemies which was hilarious

What was your build? Enchanted Rondel+Masterpiece sword or Maelstrom Blade, with Kazite set (Assassin enchant), Patience skill, elixirs, varnishes, Speedster, Monk, Shaman build worked great for me. 5 sec cd Puncture>Opportunist Stab combo provides huge damage and impact. You need to have several ways of inflicting Pain and Confusion.

@@mazdrpan4099 I focused on lightning damage, using Fulmination enchanted Radiant Wolf Sword and Tunnel's End enchanted Zhorn's, with Spirit of Monsoon enchanted silver chest, Rust Lich helm, and Flux enchanted Scarlet boots with the Gold Lich backpack, or for ice damage I used Brand and Tramontane dagger with Inner Cool enchanted Elite Desert helmet, Spirit of Cierzo enchanted Advernturer armour, and Rust Lich boots. Trees were Shaman, Hex mage, and Rogue. I would usually use cannon pistol with shatter bullet to inflict pain+confuse for opportunist stab setup, but dagger slash was higher dps anyway. I took brains and patience skills, to increase elemental damage and dagger slash damage. Even with the reduced weapon attack damage from patience, Brand consistently did more than dagger slash. With this build I was pretty restricted for ways to inflict pain/confusion unless I used multiple cannon pistols, so I prioritised using Serpent's parry for a free backstab instead. The progression honestly sucked and endgame was subpar compared to literally every other build I've done, but I still might try a phyiscal dagger build like you suggest.

I have a few ideas in mind. The big thing is you need to use Cabal Hermit and hex mage at least. Then enchant antique plate armor with spirit of monsoon for really high decay damage bonus. Those are the staples that make it start out good. Scepter of the cruel priest is probably the best decay weapon as well. But there are plenty of decay weapons to choose from.

Shocked the zhorns dagger Is above the manticore dagger. I will say though also the Rondell dagger also has versatility being able to apply multiple effects

The AoE really adds a lot of damage to Zhorns. I was pretty surprised I liked it more myself as the manticore dagger used to be my favorite.

They are worth looking into. Some of them completely change the game and make you way stronger.

A dagger build is one I've never tried but really want to. For me, once you start fisting it's hard to go back lol.

Daggers are such an easy way to take enemy health from 100% to 20% in an instant. Their skills are absolutely crazy. But I feel you, the fists can be quite fun lol

Not surprising that rondel dagger is number 1. The enchant is just too op lol.

It is very good as well. Probably number 6 in the game actually. It does have some insane impact on it which is a nice benefit.

Sorry but here (brazil) we have a metallurgical industry that made its name based on "good quality" knifes... and the #2 pronunciation have a eerie resemblance XD Joke apart, good vid, but a shame daggers are a "sidearm" for melee... but maybe insane rogues could not fit outward (unless mod comunity manage to surprise us) Tramontina btw.

@@SheenShots Tramontane means 'over the mountains'. It also is used to describe a cold north wind from the mountains. Did you know all the region names in Aurai are named after a type of wind? The Tramontina thing is pretty funny, too
