ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT (Official 2022 Trailer) The Popcorn Junkies REACTION

Ойын-сауық

All Quiet on the Western Front is a 2022 German epic anti-war film based on the 1929 novel of the same name by Erich Maria Remarque. Directed by Edward Berger, it stars Daniel Brühl, Albrecht Schuch, Sebastian Hülk, Felix Kammerer, Aaron Hilmer, Edin Hasanovic and Devid Striesow. Set in the closing years of World War I, it follows the life of German soldier Paul Bäumer, who, after enlisting in the German Army with his friends, finds himself at risk to the realities of war, shattering their earliest hopes of becoming heroes.
All Quiet on the Western Front premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2022, and will be released to streaming on Netflix on October 28, 2022. In August 2022, the film was announced as Germany's submission for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards.

    The book is absolutely legendary, its the first and most influental anti war book. The right hated it so much, when the Nazis gained power Remarque had to flee the country, his book was forbidden and burned and his sister was sentenced to death

    Definitely looks like it's echoing something like Come and See, especially that last shot of this trailer. This really looks like an unflinching portrait of the horror, senseless brutality and loss of life that WW1 was.

    Another anti-war film from a German point of view: "Das Boot" from 1981, for many the best submarine movie of all time

    So senseless is war! There is always a heavy toll on all sides. It really makes me reflect on what is currently happening in Ukraine. The film looks like it will be very thought provoking. 😢

    The original remains one of my favorite “ anti-war “ films of all time. It is a reminder that Fredrik Hegel was correct when he wrote: “We learn from history...that we do not learn from history”

    If you were French in France and referring to the front line of the War with Germany - which way would it be according to the map ? East … if you’re German / the same front line would be in the West if you were behind the front line … no? Simple compass points

    @@sawalhaadderleys "The United States campaigns in World War I began after American entry into the war in early April 1917. The American Expeditionary Force (AEF) served on the Western Front, under General John J. Pershing, and engaged in 13 official military campaigns between 1917 and 1918, for which campaign streamers were designated." Wouldn't it be eastern for Americans?? I get what are you trying to say, but you are wrong in this case. There are clearly defined borders that every front has. The western front is in western Europe and the eastern is in Eastern Europe no matter from which location you look at it. There are others, but they got their names by exact location (Italian, Macedonian, African...)

    The distinction of Western and Eastern fronts was derived from the fact that campaigns were fought in France and Russia simultaneously, to the west and east of Germany respectively. As far as I know, the terminology originated during the conflict.

  • @user-vi4zw6zu4c

    @user-vi4zw6zu4c

    @@calebwarren8168 It originally derived from the perspective of central powers, but it got standardized. No one in Russia for example says that they fought in the western front, even though the whole Europe is west of Russia, they still fought on the eastern front.
