The one where humans turn into Digimon is like this. Ancient Digimon defeated a great evil and to prepare for its return they sealed their spirits so that their power could be used in the future. The kids used this to turn into Digimon. For the megas they merged the powers of the spirits to digivolve into megas.

In ghost game they were going against someone who they couldn't do anything against. It's pretty common in all Digimon. They still dont give up and awaken mega digivolution as the only way to defeat their foe.

The one you were impressed by near the end is a reboot of the original series during 2020-2021. The characters are mostly same but the plot is very different.

@@_anas_98 Nope. Still better than shits like Xros Wars etc. The overall plot is a mess most of the time, but has some really great episodes and animations. Ep. 24 with Donedevimon is probably best Digimon episode ever.

@@_anas_98 Adventure 2020 was pretty good. As far as personalities go... kind of a toss up. Mimi and Joe were better in the reboot, Sora was better in the original. Kari is bad in either one, TK was a different character, and Tai and Matt were kinda lateral moves for me.

Most Digimons that reach the mega levels gain armour of some type of Digizoid material (Wargreymon having Chrome Digizoid). That is why most end up turning into mecha-like humanoids. Only a handful aren't humanoid and don't wear any armour.

The shoutmon x7 is from Digimon xross wars. If you watch that only watch the Japanese. The American adaption fusion battles was horrible. It was all about fusing Digimon together. The three started out as enemies, but then eventually all came together and became friends to merge their powers. The result of this is x7 being made up of their best Digimon.

In Tamers (3rd season) they had to do that because this season especially had the sense of taming digimons so that there is a point the taming bond has to be turned into friendship, so the merging was accepted by fans. Later season ( frontier, 4th season) adopted the idea because of it's huge success but not many people accepted it actually so many claimed that season has failed

I don't necessary think Frontier "failed" just because of this, it might had a huge impacted the acceptance yes, but i heard other reasoning that is pretty similar to mine, since i actually liked the idea of spirit evolution. I also don't like Frontier, because of this Main Character becomes only usable fighter thing was EXTREME here, literally all the other Characters became more or less useless as double spirit evolution became a thing, and it just got worse with hyper spirit evolution, similar thing actually happened in 02 but there it was way better solved. I also think Frontier had the weakest storytelling compared to the other seasons, but the story was super strong, it's just that there were so many episodes contribution absolutely nothing to the main plot and then episodes that had a major plot branch in it that got dropped the next episode just to be used again 2 episodes later. This weird plot contribution made Frontier so incredibly hard to watch as i was older compared to when i was younger, since some episodes are packed to the brim and others are just there, as i rewatched every season a few years ago, Frontier was the only season where this happened so often and massively. Frontier has the sword are online problem, you either absolutely love it or don't like it, there is no real wide middle ground like in other anime
