Israeli's took Dragger, modified it, put some American parts and made sure you'd find filters no matter which side attacks you and named it M15 :D pretty good thing, would get it myself if had funds.

Yeah it's a great mask, I prefer the S10 but it's easily one of the best masks for how much they usually cost.

Yeah, I personally own a FM12 gas mask. This one will always be my EDC and favorite gas mask. It’s awesome. But the m15 a a good backup mask.

I got an M15 mask from a friend a few days ago, and the one I got had a speech diaphragm on the left as well side for either phone calls or radios, which is pretty cool

M-15 was my first mask about 10 years ago, until you showed me the light of the FM/CT-12. I still keep it staged for use or pull it from inventory when I paint, sand wood, or use caustic cleaners. Great mask, accept that drinking tube location still pisses me off. Great vid, thanks Liam/Mike

I was using it with the P3 filter the other week when I was having to move loft insulation around, fibreglass everywhere.

Nice review!. Just purchased a "new surplus stock" M-15 but was wondering if the tinted outserts for the US M-40 would fit the M-15. Cannot find a tinted outsert for the M-15 anywhere. Thanks.

That old mask and that great. I thought the production started in the 80s

Drinking with this mask is very easy and works quite well. Also I’m pretty sure that some civilians used this mask during the gulf war.

Probably just depended on the amount available for distribution.

Do you know if this would allow me to use with a long gun - rifle or shotgun? Or would the drinking tube port get in the way? I have the civilian version and it doesn't work with a long gun. Thanks!!

In a sense yes but loads of masks put the voice diaphragm in the middle and have triangular eye pieces, this mask is closest to the Drager M65.

A question about drinking devices. All the devices I've seen have the drinking tube link to a solid plastic/metal flask. By sucking water from the flask, potentially contamined air will enter the system(bottle). Is this the way they work? I have adapted my drinking system to work with camelpack pouches. By having a sealed flexible container there is no need for outside air to replace the empty space

I was thinking of using it with my US military hydration pack which is a bladder. No contamination that way and 3 liters.

I bought an M10M this week but it came with the NBC grade filters, which I'd rather keep unopened. Do you know where I can find regular training/riot control filters? I've searched eBay yet no luck... Many thanks, keep up the great content!

Not much point keeping the filters sealed since they have long since expired, the M10m is utterly useless for survival use being a totally obsolete design.

What is the sizing like on these? I know they are marked 1,2,3- but I'm not sure what that means. Some masks have 3 as largest, some 1. Any ideas?

most NATO masks using the numerical sizing go 3 being the smallest and 1 being the largest while GOST russian masks go backwards with 1 being the smallest and 3 being the largest

I like the new version with the extra voice diaphragm. I just wish they would stop putting the drink tube on the wrong side. They should put it on the left side so I can aim with my rifles easier.

I have one with the original filter

Picked one up from Amazon. It ran me $219 on amazon but it did come with the filter and water bottle. the only downside is that i have long hair and i really dont wanna cut it off. That aside, it is a really good mask. There is another on amazon caled kyng gas mask or something like that. It's $50 but the reviews said that the buckles were super cheap. So a $50 gas mask that's made to lookand feel like one of these -and marketed as KYNG- is most likely an ineffective gimmick as opposed to one of these. Overall, feels good.

I have a KYNG it works. I tested it out with CS gas but I got the more expensive mask with the drinking tube but it works it’s was like $120. The mask isn’t so much important it’s the filter and the seal that matter

​@@mac11daddy6That's all correct, but so many complaints in the reviews about buckles breaking scared me off from the Kyng. We're trusting our lives to these things if something bad happens, and a broken buckle at the worst time would be a disaster. I bought a couple French ARF-As from BudK and they have a similar problem. The pegs on the mask that hold the buckles on are prone to break. 2 of mine did. Too scary for me.

Are the filters proprietary? Is it possible to put on a NATO 40 mm filter? Also is it comfortable to wear?

This mask is standardized which can take 40 MM NATO/STANAG and 40MM GOST filters as well

Also I have another question. Some of my gas masks, even after washing and lubing up the rubber, create little rubber particulates through use, even though they're in what I would class as super-grade condition. How do I eradicate this? Is it harmful to wear them with the presence of the small flakes of rubber?

It sounds like talc and no it isn't really harmful, are you sure it's not actually your skin peeling off inside the mask? Unless you scrub the dead skin from your scalp and face everyday, when you put a mask on it will peel dead skin off.

Perhaps it is talc, but they seem a bit big for that. And since it's only dated 1991 it should be in half decent shape. I will investigate it more.

I actually had the same problem with a used m65z gasmask i bought, mostly went away after I washed it.

I know you’ve said polish fp5 filters are safe, and I know the polish on them means combined filter, but do you know what all it may protect from?

It's a typical NBC/CBRN filter, so chemicals and particulate protection, no idea if it is ABE or ABEK though.

Avon actually has another version of that mask called the C50 (I think C stands for civilian, possibly) and it takes only NATO 40mm filters.

Try searching for its size chart. If you can't find it, you're best option would be opting for a medium and hope it'll fit.

So do you take off the exhale plug when in use? Just wondering because I just got one.

Exhale plug? If your using the mask all you do is remove the plugs from the filter and screw it on.

My wife and I have two m15 masks. The masks are numbered 1 and 3 and these were manufactured between 1989 and 1991. The two masks are similar in size and small. Your mask is much larger and is a size 2 (!). Why?

Well. Let me clarify. No with my Mauser, no with my AR, kinda with my SKS. The lense on the right eye hits the should rest of the rifle and you won't be able to get proper picture. Since the SKS has that weird receiver sight thing that's way taller it is a tad better.
