Arsenal did not play a low block and countered Mark, they had Liverpool pinned in their half for most of the first half.

Mark, did you even watch the Arsenal game? Saying we played a low block and counter? What!?!? We dominated the ENTIRE game

Yeh you played amazing, for large chunks though it was the low line with the counter attacking that made you so dominant. It's not an insult, or at least it shouldn't be, it's a tactical win.

Yeah Arsenal bossed that midfield very strange analysis but he wasn't really concentrating on the game he even missed one of the goals.

Low block? Arsenal won the ball back in Liverpool’s third more than any other team has done against Liverpool this season. That’s the most successful press Amy team has had against Liverpool this season.

I don’t see how mark keeps saying Arsenal played a low block? I’m a Liverpool fan and I can see they suffocated us in our own half, we couldn’t get out at all.

Because despite doing all the same shit as countless managers out there, Mikel Arteta's been cast by the media as a petulant troublemaker. So lazy pundits have basically been given a script by their employers to criticise any moment of him displaying emotion. Not one of those pundits honestly think "hmm, this level of celebrating could be problematic"- it's so obviously just some crap passed down to them by their bosses to get social media clicks. But it makes for absolutely shite tv, and it's little wonder that any half-decent youtuber is now the go-to for football analysis over sky sports etc.

Love the celebrations, makes me believe that managers and players aren’t robots and that it means as much to them as is does the fans. So what if it bites them in the bum, you’ve got to enjoy it while you can.

As a Villa fan appreciate the compliments. We are at the business end of the season and our recent inconsistent play and latest losses at home is I think due to our lack of squad depth. We're a season or so ahead of our overal plan per our club and squad rebuild and although being 4th is on merit, this is the time of the season when that weakness and our inexperience holding on to 4th may be our achilles heel. Its going to be a tough, hopefully competitive match that I find is hard call, but I'm actually looking forward to seeing how Emery and the lads react to the Chelsea home loss and the challenge of a United side that has some swagger about them.

Near the goal it should always be advantage for the keeper on contact, unless it's something blatant; but things like that will always be ruined by VAR

Low block?!? The first low block I've seen that comprised of suffocating the opposition team in their own half.

Saliba needed to take control of the keeper wanted it he would have called and dealt with it.

They tried to do the same play on the Madrid derby where a player is on the keeper, he was offside of course and the ball went in but var said that player influenced in the goal because he literally nudges lunin into the goal and doesn't let him go out to punch the ball so Var marked off side

"You've scored a goal. Stop taking pictures and just get on with it"

Why do these come out at such weird times? I was looking for this episode late last night and this morning it says it dropped 3 hours ago?

May be wrong but it's far better and more insitful having discussion days after the game with people who know ball than having debates minutes after the end of the game with fans who are still happy or annoyed from the result

as a CB im always with what Ben were saying. Just get the ball out its fine. Just clear your lines or kick it out dont risk it. I've obviously not played at that level or close to it but you gotta be safety first when youre in that spot.

I’m glad if keepers aren’t being as protected as much as long as it’s within reason. They have no divine right to have it all their way. These small contacts they go down for wouldn’t be a foul for outfield players. If the slightest nudge can affect them catching a ball they should have to adjust and punch more for example. Anyway only my opinion maybe I’m wrong.

The issue I have is that Harrison makes no attempt to play the ball and just looks to nudge the keeper and block him from getting the ball. That is a clear foul to me 👨‍⚖️

No you're right, keepers have become FAR too protected it's ridiculous. On top of that, they can come flying out dangerously and wipe a player out and it's not a foul, baffling!

They block keepers without attempting to go for the ball. They are fouls.

I'm not sure if this is similar, but defenders often use their body to get in the way of the attacker to let a ball get out of play for a goal kick. They aren't playing the ball but the attacker there and that's allowed.@@mychannel5019

That game hadn't been played yet.

It is easy for everyone to just blame van dijk , because of his status . But if you actually play the game you would know , he wasn't directly at fault in any of the goals , the rest of the defenders need go do better . Allison's miscommunication led to the second goal , and konate needs to learn how to behave in big games , you can't just randomly foul even after given a card and warnings

What I think people misunderstand about Arsenal and celebrating is - it’s not a celebration that we will now go on and win the league. It’s a celebration that, for the first time in 20 years… 20 fackin years! That Arsenal can actually compete with the best in the league, Arteta, in his first ever managerial job has taken a team with a huge amount of pressure and is transforming them. All this nonsense about, “well what has he won”? This is real life and not fifa, for the majority of clubs (except only Man City) becoming title challengers is a long term project. Chelsea used to be similar to Man City, but now they are just regulars and will probably need to take a harder route to the top. Man United have been going through the process since Ferguson left, Liverpool had to wait for Klopp and then it still took Klopp 4/5 years. So many rival fans slate Arteta whisky their team may not even get into Europe… is it just a fear that under Arteta Arsenal could dominate the league without Klopp or Pep around? Because at the moment, if those two left, I think Arsenal would be favourites for the league every year….

The only reason people are so strong on calling us bottle jobs is because they are worried about our progress. We have exceeded expectations by a long way. We were not good enough to win the league last year and no one was surprised. I would imagine you support a team that bottled the league by match week 2, I would bet you don’t have a leg to stand on hahahaha.
