One thing is certain and very personal with Sandy...she's earned her stripes and this woman demands respect. Sandy want's crew members who are weak and look up to her, she likes to be appreciated and looked up to, that's why dispite what she said to Frazer, Sandy really didn't want to let Camille go. Camille was someone she could mold and teach and Sandy likes that about her crew. She likes those that need her guidance and attention. When you don't need her affirmation or praise, if you don't appreciate her accomplishments or need a Sandy pat on the back, she has not love for you, it started with Hanah and will end with Allssya. I use to like her but now not so much

I think the reason she does this is as a woman in her field she is very much in the minority. It can be rather a mysoginistic boys club at her level and she has probably had to fight hard a long the way to constantly justify herself. Some of her crew members, both men and sadly women constantly have tested her authority and i do believe a large part is due to her being female. She has probably had this all the way up. So perhaps that is the reason for the overkill :)

This is terrible analysis of Captain Sandy’s leadership. The interior crew are incredibly unprofessional, dramatic, and causing problems for their entire boat. That requires the Captain stepping in and taking care of the problem. That is not micro managing.

Alyssa is obviously overwhelmed and emotional. She explained why she is the way she is. She still have her life to live and learn. People kill me acting like people can’t make mistakes. Show me a prefect person. She does the job good. Sandy is over looking that and in her feelings because she playing favorites.

i think they're both opposite ends of the spectrum tho, because Captain Lee doesn't seem to be interested in being a mentor? I think Captain Sandy's micromanaging is a problem and especially the part where she calls out the flaws IN FRONT OF GUESTS who might not have noticed otherwise, but she is very keen on encouraging new deckhands, showing them what they can become if they keep working hard, gets involved when things go wrong. That's something Captain Lee doesn't seem to do, he calls it "babysitting" or says something like "if i need to fix your problems then what are you here for", instead of giving them the guidance they need (at least from what we see on the show).

Captain Sandy talks a good game about empowerment and encouragement, but she doesn’t follow her own example. She’s constantly finding the need to berate, embarrassed and dismiss her staff. When she needs to call and embarrass somebody over radio, in front of other crew, or worse in front of paid guests. She did all of these Fraser calling over the radio in front of guests for all the crew to hear. She always says guess should never see you sweat just don’t need to know the drama. This is the ultimate slap in the face and miss appropriated abuse of power!

She is not berating. She is responsible for the crew and guests. Fraser is not delegating responsibility for the interior. Fraser is a first-time chief stew.

This is why everyone prefers captain Lee. Sandy is extra and biased which is why the interior staff don't like her Including the viewers. My bet is she will either sack fraser or alissa next because she heard them cussing her out.

Sandy did own the fact Camille was worse then she thought after watching the season back, but let's be real the chef didn't have her eight course meals happening then u would know that she was the problem, the minute Sandy told her three courses n call it a day all of sudden it ran fine n the interior was too blame? No cus the chef finally got it together. Alissa wanting things done right the first time is not an issue she just knows standards. Frasier was a great chief stew but talking about Alissa to everyone else is not ok in any management position cus then u cause it to get worse, continue n make it seem ok to do so. Alissa is a hard worker u can't take that from her Frasier too. Ross is a mess n sandy has no idea but praises him? Bigger yacht n they were down a fourth stew from episode one cus Camille was worthless too. That was the problem. 8 courses was the next problem period point blank.

If I had a dime for every time Sandy says "I didn't realize how bad they were at the time" after watching the season back, yet year after year she does nothing to improve her information gathering during the actual charter season.

Sandy, the so called captain, has never acted in a professional manner. You don't berate your officers in front of their subordinates - ever!

Amazes me how Camilla got away with not following chain of command every show and everyone had to pick up the slack and no one cared about the other 3 and how late they worked and the cook slacked off and got food out late making guest complain and Sandy takes her out for breakfast or coffee and praises her and gave her pointers and blamed the others. Late service was the cooks fault and Sandy for not treating interior better than she did for getting the work done being short handed with a hot head like Camilla and having to work under that pressure while no one did anything about it. If Sandy wasn't so busy listening to gossip and short tempers for not handling Camilla from the get go. Never eavesdrop on people cause you won't like what you hear. Someone needs to fire Capt. Sandy.

Oh boy - she boasts about leadership but she’s erratic, hostile, condescending and obviously arrogant. No other Captain in the series gets more criticism than her and rightfully so. It has nothing to do with being a woman but being a good leader which she is not. Absolutely zero self awareness- SANDY

Both Captains Sandy and Lee have their individual styles of leadership. Both are willing to get their hands dirty, pitch in if necessary and lead by example that way. They’re both willing to take the time to teach if a crew person is hard working and enthusiastic to learn. I see one as more of a great dad figure and the other as a great mom figure to these young adults. Both captains have their own lines and both know how to handle it when those lines are crossed. Absolute respect to both!

I can’t stand Sandy!!! 🤢🤢🤢I’ve said from day one that she is as fake as they come. She creates drama where there is none. She is down right rotten to deal with. She is terrible--they were working their tails off and Sandy comes in thinks she knows everything and picks her pets and tries to help them and ignores the ones who were stressed out and was working hard to make up for Camilla who was too busy chasing the guys. Some people just cannot manage people. The interior had every right to be ticked off and bad mouth her. She was unfair.

I would heavily disagree I think by Sandy wanting to be over every department just shows how much Frazier needs to improve as a leader. Camille deserved to get fired but I think Alissa was even worst than Camille in terms of behaviour and that comes from Frazier lack of leadership and authority over his team which was what Capt. Sandy was saying & Chef Rachel was already feeling it. If you honestly found Sandy behaviour toxic, then you don’t understand how poor the interior crew has been bad managed but also Alissa behaviour (Hayley & Fraser behaviour was exceptional). Do I think Sandy exaggerated at some? Yes, mainly Hayley & also a bit not understanding Frazier but Frazier is the Chief, he needs to control his people & unfortunately he was not able. Look at Ross, Sandy never complained towards them because they were being managed by a great leader, look how Ross resolved Tony Situation. Sandy by overseeing the crew exposed how bad the interior crew really was & that Camille wasn’t even the only problem as Alissa attitude came to light. Also why Alissa implied that Ross all over her when it was the exact oppose it was HER! If I was Ross I would sue her for spreading lies!

Captain Sandy rules by her emotions

Captain Sandy talks so much about she doesn’t care about personal opinions nor politics yet she hears a comments about herself that has nothing to do with the service or the charter and she gets pissed. She takes it personal all the time then proceeds to apologize. ALL THE TIME!

So I agree with Sandy that Fraser has some growing to do. He is too preoccupied with trying to please everybody guests and coworkers that he becomes spread way too thin. HOWEVER…Sandy has such a nasty delivery in how she gives criticism. She is so rude and goes right for the jugular.

The Interior Crew is very Disrespectful. Alissa is the worst. Frazier just isn't experienced enough to be the Chief Stew. He is to nice to his crew.

Love Captin Sandy and Alissa is very disrespectful, with a young mind that doesn't respect authority. But Sandy should've shown the same respect to the Headstew Fraser like she did Chef Rachel. Take him aside off deck like she did Chef Rachel.

Her comment was very disrespectful to her superior. Also considering the fact that Alyssa had issues with Camille May make Captain Sandy view her differently. 2) As for Fraser, I did not like the way Captain Sandy spoke to him and/or treated him. I have a right to respectfully voice my opinion as well as you do. My opinion had nothing whatsoever to do with the color of anyone’s skin so don’t push that nonsense off on me. Frazier is shit at being chief stew.

Captain Sandy is very partisan, she has her favorites and she indulges them in almost everything. Smiles for the guests on the yacht and bad gestures for the majority of the crew.

Team building is definitely important

I think the girl on the outside crew looks so young but her willing to learn and hardworking she will go far

So shocked and disappointed with Capt Sandy of her behavior towards Frasier. He runs around doing everything. Sandy was my fav but not now.

Love the party scene

Sandy is the one spreading the cancer, bringing the BS. I think Alissa's attitude is problematic, but what she said about Sandy is not untrue. She is biased against interior (here and her own show) and undermines the authority of chief stews and chefs. I want to support female captains but she is making it hard to do so.

This is the problem with 20 somethings these days. They can't take ANY criticism of any kind without getting all butt hurt. If I had spoke about any of my bosses the way these kids do I would have been fired. And if I was a captain of a boat and watched this, I would NEVER hire some of these people.

The trailer shows the new crew member Leigh-Ann with interior epaulet's on with Frasier and Hayley so neither of them are gone. It says that Captain Sandy “lets go of an integral member of the crew. That leaves Tyler or Alissa leaving. Cant see Tyler leaving unless he just cant stand to not be with his new love and quits. Maybe Alissa is gonna pull a Kyle and fake fall down the stairs. If Alissa quits, I hope it's on Mondays show so we can all be done with her misery and hateful mouth.

Captain Sandy is a horrible person Its another Hannah stuation!! She is abusive!! Totally favors the deck crew!! I don't ever want to watch her again!! And making them play volleyball and not letting them sleep after the interior is up until 3am lots of times!! Aweful!!

I couldn't wait for Sandy to fire Alissa she was not a team worker or a good crew member. Captain Sandy is the best, a few crew members are not mature enough to be there, they need to grow up.

Frasier was indeed rushing the guests off. They were eating had they spilled something wanted to fix their makeup etc. their luggage was gone. It had started raining too and they may have wanted jackets. In the middle of all that rain the deck team is busting azz to get things covered and Alissa is yet again radioing them to take out trash. That fact that she did it while standing eating a chocolate muffin. with 2 other stews Fraiser and Tyler also catching a break time and trash talking the captain shows what the weakness is.

It may have been unwise to offload the luggage early, but the way Sandy addressed it was totally inappropriate. Good managers give feedback to their heads of department tactfully in private. Toxic managers undermine their heads of department by criticizing their decision in front of the whole team. Also, moving guest luggage and taking out the trash are both deckhand duties, fyi.

I am all about powerful women and Captain Sandy has always impressed me with her sense of fair play and compassion, until this season. I'm unsure what has gotten into her but something seems "off". She seems to be constantly on low-grade seethe, just waiting to pounce on Frasier and interior. Alissa needs to grow up and know when to shut her mouth. She acted like a jerk. Camille needs to stop playing the victim. She would still be there if only she would have tried instead of whining. I think that Frasier still has a few things to learn but Captain Sandy is not mentoring him - but she is borderline harassing him. Unless I missed it, she has not said a word to Ross about messing around with a subordinate which is fraught with potential legal issues. It seems personal this season. I mean, Rachel told a captain to go "f" himself and she was forgiven (I'm glad because I love Rachel) and she messed up meals a couple of times this season, but come on, and Captain Sandy is all warm and cozy with her.

Alissa was obviously the problem since the next much more demanding charter went smoothly.Not crazy about Sandy all the time but she was right,she’s sincere,and a hard working working captain who cares.

She was the most hardworking person on that boat. She stayed up til 3:45am in the morning and cleaned up after the guest went to sleep. Sandy's not a good captain whatsoever. She gave Camille so many chances but fired Alissa for one mistake like she was playing favorites and she was.
