The little conversation between both runners in the ending was actually wholesome. They seemed like friends. Kudos to them, and to sportsmanship.
Andy didn't do a bomb jump in ice palace, he did a hover.

The race was great. But the commentary made it epic.
Yo I noticed the lack of troll seeds
Great match.
nothing like a good old fashioned chest. i love chests
An hour and ten minute run is really unbelievable. Both runners are ridiculously skilled. Very fun to watch. I think Andy is the most skilled, but Christos was plenty good enough to win, he just got into his own head thinking Andy was so far ahead. Great race.
Oh? Does Uncle not walk out with a sword if the seed doesn't give him one? If so, that's a pretty neat way of telling right off the bat whether or not you'll get a sword.
that was fun to watch
1:05:03 Blue potion messing up the cannon ball timing as mentioned later.
Rip andy not opening the validation chest
Still dam good race
omg i would love to commentate on these matches. That sounds like a dream come true!

ooo ice rod and fire rod 12 minutes in Que Turtle rock is PROBABLY a pendent. lmao. Happens everytime.
How come the timers always start out of sync for like the first minute and then somehow sync up later?
@pikraft84

Usually during a screen transition or similarly slow spot they stop the video and timer on one side for a few frames or few seconds to get the times to better match up
@Claymore729

The timers start out of sync because the timers you see are manual timers started by each runner. Network delays mean that the restream operator doesn't start off seeing the streams at the same time, so they'll pause/play the various streams to bring the timers back into sync.
59:03 Commentator not paying attention at all. Rip.
SlimKirby's voice reminds me a little of Roamin for some reason.
live?
This race really highlights the importance of some "non-essential" items. Andy had sightly better movement tech but his finding the mail and bottle of green in the hype cave let him breeze through the ending in a way Chris just couldn't.
You guys have to start making custom thumbnails or something. It sucks seeing the win mark on the second match thumbnail, knowing who won this match already.(Specially these tight matches where the players are like back to back)

Then just play it regular. No need for the randomization at that point.
Has tag ban Andy

No ... pug! Hating them it's like hating something you can't hate. And look how it smiles when it picks up an item!

I guess you misread this conversation...
Randomizer? but they know what weapons to get where, so how is it actually randomized?
@mrensio9341
5 жыл бұрын
It's randomized in a sense that most items are not where they usually are. They know all the item locations, but not where specific items are.
Speed through FF11 and then will be impressed :)
This game is too linear as a randomizer. NES Zelda 1 much better.
@michaelhodnett431

It didn't look linear to me, and I have watch many linear seeds, or play vanilla, since there are many options opened after escape
They literally do not need to explain randomizer in the finals of an 8 month tourney. Just saying.

Standard principle of game communication. It's never a bad idea to explain the basics of a game in the intro of the finale because that has the highest chance of attracting outside viewership. I, for example, have only seen half a dozen games from this tournament and am not familiar with the specifics of the current randomizer ruleset or new strategies. The commentary was extremely helpful for me and helped a ton to keep me engaged. Take a step back from your own knowledge before you pass judgement.

That's like saying you don't need commentary in sports either. True you do not need it at all but it would be a hell of a lot more boring otherwise.

+Cory Riesen - I've literally never watched a randomizer race before. Turns out it wasn't what I assumed it would be. I'm glad they mentioned it.

Tbh the finals are probably the MOST important time to explain stuff as commentary because they're mostly likely what attracts attention from casual watchers who don't watch through a whole season, like people from the larger running community and people who maybe just liked LttP casually as a vanilla game. I know I stumbled upon it during semi-finals last year and last year's tournament caused a lot of let's players and streamers pick up the randomizer so they must be doing something right.
